Billy Bob Cancels Rest Of Canadian Tour!!!
We're guessing Billy Bob Thorton didn't appreciate looking like a complete douche earlier this week.
The actor musician was a total ass Wednesday morning on a Canadian radio show when he was there to promote his band and touring with Willie Nelson.
Thorton got upset when the radio host mentioned that he was an actor and screenwriter. That prompted Thorton to act like a dumbass, ignore the radio host, and respond with rude and odd remarks.
Then, at the end of the interview, when Thorton and his band were set to perform, he opted not to.
And, after all that, Thorton's now decided to be a pussy. BBT and his band, The Boxmasters, have dropped out of the Canadian tour he was on with Willie Nelson!

Billy Bob & The Boxmasters - no more Canada
It has been reported that Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters will not be continuing the Canadian tour with Willie and Ray. At this time, no reasons have been announced but the remainder of the tour will continue as scheduled without The Boxmasters.
How unprofessional. Wonder what the reason could have been for him dropping out.

I watched his little tirade earlier. I never liked this skeevy prick in the first place, but now I have real evidence why he's a total dick, in love with his own importance. The other guys in the band looked downright ready to hurl. What was it like, watching all their hard work evaporate in less than 2 minutes? I can't imagine.
they cancelled their canadian shows becuase:
1. Willie Nelson fired him, oh wait they've never met
2. He forgot to cart his drums to the show
3. He dont like his mashed pataters without none of them gravys
4. he was asked for his autograph on a movie poster
5. he got a great idea for his ninth album
6. his subscribtion for his childhood magazine got cancelled
7. he just doesnt know what you mean!
8. He got an angry call from Tom Petty

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but it wasn't just any canadian radio show; it was CBC Q, one of Canada's most listened to and respected broadcasts, with one of Canada's premier figures in music journalism, Jian Ghomeshi.

First, there's no excuse for such disgusting behavior. Second, the interviewer did not discuss BBT's acting career. (So, what was it like working on the "Bad News Bears"?) He simply mentioned Billy Bob's bio in his intro so the audience would know who was being interviewed. It would have been bizarre to have left that information out. Just because Billy Bob is a nut doesn't mean those who interview him have to be. Third, the interviewer is not Billy Bob's servant; Billy Bob doesn't get to dictate what he says.

Willie Nelson's people probably dropped them from the tour. Boxmaster's show in Toronto was a total bomb, and Billy Bob was super-negative on stage, still dissing the host of the show and acting like a fuckwit. As the supporting act, the band is supposed to warm up the crowd, not RILE them up.
Silly Blob Thornton is a bigger diva than Willie Nelson will ever be. I'm sure this incident was just the icing on the cake … wait and see if they get to join the tour again in the US.

My husband, his mother and his grandmother went to the concert. Everyone was booing Billy Bob, apparently is was pretty bad and the booing got worse when he tried to explain himself. Willie on the other hand was very friendly and proffessional, he even stayed after his set to autograph programs, books and shirts and even threw out some winks and handshakes.
If you have the audacity to insult Canada, Canadians are going to be insulted. BBT is a talented actor but I don't see why he would want to continue the Canadian tour after pissing off Canada. I feel bad for the rest of the band though because in the interview they seemed like decent guys.
Like we Canadians want to go see an asshole anyway. We're glad he cancelled his Canadian dates….who needs him….NOT US!!!

I think Billy Bob is a complete ass. He let his fans (?) down and he let his band down. If the Boxmasters need a fill-in drummer, they should give me a call. I can play drums better than Billy Bob, and I'm nowhere near as much of a douche!

Billy Bob and others may be used to dictating the boundaries of interviews, but the truth is not for sale there. The tail does not wag the dog.
If I were a journalist with any integrity, I would be insulted if someone tried to tell me how I should do my job. It's a win-win deal; the station agrees to do an interview, and the musician agrees to the free publicity as they're touring. If the person being interviewed thinks they have a right to dictate the terms, they should not. If he wanted that, he should have paid to do his own commercial.
That being said, I just think Billy Bob made a big mistake. If radio people kowtow to him in the States, he may have thought he had the right to dictate. If he thinks about it, he may see the error in this thinking. He just got too big for his britches. I'm sure he's tired of his former fame coloring his musical career, and wants his bandmates recognized and credited for their musicianship rather than his former notoriety. Fair enough; but you can't and shouldn't erase history. His persona only adds to their chances, and he should be proud of it, and it shouldn't and doesn't need to be buried. If I watched their band, I would judge them on their music, and wouldn't give a sh*t who he was in a former life after the first two bars. He's not the devil; he made a mistake.

Watched the interview. He was high on smack or else drunk, or both. His bandmates were looking at one another in angry panic and trying to answer for him as much as possible. They are a serious band with prolific talent for writing songs but until Billy Bob is clean they do not want to blacken their reputation further. I feel for them but those who are coming to Willie Nelson's tour will get a better show without that slimey, grumpy, drug addicted guy out on stage each night.
