Madonna Cries To The Malawian Public

In what appears to be a last minute attempt to rally the people of Malawi against the denial of her adoption, the normally private Madge granted Malawian newspaper Nation an interview discussing the tug-of-war!

Madonna explained her desires for the 3-year-old Mercy James if she were to be able to live with M: "I want to provide Mercy with a home, a loving family environment and the best education and healthcare possible…And it's my hope that she, like David, will one day return to Malawi and help the people of their country."

We don't doubt it!

Although Madge couldn't reveal much regarding the highly publicized appeal of the denial, she did tip her hat to the Malawian people for their continued support of her adoption!

Said Madonna: "Though I have been advised that I cannot publicly discuss the pending appeal regarding my desire to adopt Mercy, I do want to say how much I appreciate the level of support that I have received from the people of Malawi and my friends around the world."

Do U think the appeal will be granted to the big M???

She's way to self centered and narcissistic to realize that she's only wanting this girl because she already has everything else she wants. If she really cares about African children, she can donate all the money she's spending on this adoption to a charity.

I think its great she wants to adopt children, but she should have to follow the laws just like anyone else would. why should she be able to adopt these children when she clearly hasn't met the requirements to adopt them. yes the child would have a better life, but the law is the law they shouldn't be pressured to make an exception just because she is rich and famous.

i hope not. the judge had a good reason as to why deny her adoption. celebrities and wealthy people can't feel as they are above the law as it can lead to child trafficking. if she really care, she can support the orphanage that mercy is at or help out mercy's father in raising her.

I DONT THINK THAT SHE WILL WIN THE APPEAL…I THINK THAT SHE SHOULD JUST DO WHAT THEY ASKED HER TO DO BY RETAINING RESIDENCE IN THE COUNTRY FOR THE 18MONTH PERIOD AND THEN TRY AGAIN…I KNOW THAT MALAWI ISNT NEW YORK OR LONDON, BUT IF SHE REALLY DOES WANT THE LIL GIRL THAT BAD, SHE WOULD DO ANYTHING TO GET THE ADOPTION PROCESSED…MOST PARENTS WILL DO ANYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO HELP THEIR CHILDREN, AND SHE SHOULD PROVE THAT TOO BY JUST BUYING A HOUSE THERE LIKE SHE'S SUPPOSED TO…GOD KNOWS THAT SHE CAN AFFORD IT SO THAT ISNT THE PROBLEM…AND ITS NOT LIKE SHE WOULD HAVE TO BE THERE EVERYDAY FOR THAT PERIOD…SO WOULD IT REALLY BE THAT BAD MADGE?….

I think this is such a stupid situation. There are a gazillion children all around the world that need to be adopted. And this government makes the moronic decision that her life is sufficient in an orphanage? If someone wants to give this child a better life, who the hell are these sanctimonious assholes to say that her life now is better? It's so ridiculous! They're just shooting themselves in the foot. If they don't allow the adoption, they're sure to have a major decrease in people wanting to adopt from their country. If there are children in need that have the opportunity to have a better life, why get all political (in a completely bad way)? The main concern should be the lives of these children.

The only thing MADONNA loves is HERSELF, She wants what she wants when she wants it. And the only thing she wants more is something she is told she cannot have. She's too old to be taking on another child. Which just means the girl will be raised by nannies and brought out for PR purposes. It's true that the child will have more advantages, but nothing that Madonna can't provide for her by funding her adoption or fostering by a Malawi couple.

Plenty of people are great parents and they are rejected for adoption everyday because they do not meet the adoption requirements, Madonna shouldn't be treated differently.
