Nicolette Sheridan's Feud With Housewives Creator!
You didn't think Nicolette Sheridan's departure from Wisteria Lane would be free of the dramz, did you???
The reasoning behind killing off Sheridan's character Edie Britt has become a serious case of he said/she said between Sheridan and Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry!
Nicolette shared with TV Guide her theory behind the offing of Edie:
"Somebody up there really wanted her dead. I think whoever Edie represented in [Housewives creator] Marc's life was somebody he didn't like. And he had a very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction," she says.
Oh really now???
And show creator Marc Cherry's explanation?
“Edie’s already slept with most of the guys on the street and has caused about as many problems as she could.”
Major burn!
Cherry is known for his sordid past with Sheridan - from Nicolette's mug failing to grace the opening credits of the show to on-set squabbles between the two and even two Housewives cast members learning of Edie's departure before Sheridan herself!
Cherry has tried to save face by also blaming the send-off on ABC's arm twisting to minimize the Desperate Housewives budget!
"There has been tremendous pressure put on me to cut costs… The network is saying to all the shows, 'The company is really hurting financially. You must find a way to produce these shows more cheaply,'" Marc disclosed to TV Guide.
With Sheridan gone, the show will save a reported $100-200,000 per episode!

Sheridan has never been part of the original Housewives. There's always been only 4. Delany isn't part of the group either, as fabulous as she is. Sheridan should stop bitching and take the role she is meant to portray: a supporting character who's a raging whore and bitch. Period. She was dispensable and the writers agreed. Now she needs to stop being a diva and eff off. Leave room for the real, deserving divas of the show.
What a shame for that designer that forgot to cut the sleeve of the dress.
This sucks. The show just started getting kind of interesting again and now they are going to take another step back. Why not get rid of Kim Delaney's character Katherine. Not that Kim's not a good actress but her character is
not necessary.
I wish they would have gotten rid of Skeletor Hatcher. All her story-lines are so predictable - she is klutzy, clumsy and a cheap copy of a Three's Company misunderstanding. I am so bored of her! At least Sheridan was funny.
STUPID..i love that show…really do..but part of it's magic was nicollette's character..eddie was amazing..and i agree with kookoowawa - katherine was brought just to replace eddie..again REALLY stupid..she should be dead not eddie:( marc this season really SUCKED i mean BIG time..horrible..eva &nicollette were the only one there making it watchable
Housewives is starting to gather moss anyway. Nicolette can go do other things. They've pretty much exhausted every suburban permutation ad nauseum. Nicolette is now ahead of the curve of the sinking show. Change is good.

It should have been Teri Hatcher (Susan) and James Denton (Mike). Talk about characters who have run their course! I've never talked to anyone that actually likes her character, whereas everyone always bemoans the fact that Nicollette Sheridan (Edie) doesn't get enough screen time! Marc Cherry is def not listening to the fans of his show!
They should have kept Edie and gotten rid of Susan. She's the most annoying character on TV. I don't mind Teri Hatcher, the actress… but Susan almost ruins the show.

I can tell you this…I won't be watching the show with Nic gone…she was the main reason I watched it anyway. AND I said when they killed her off LAST time that I won't watch anymore and now I won't.
The only one on there now that is humorous in any way is Gabbi and the other two are fugugly….
