And its a terrible thing if you in the US are not aware of whats happening, as its all over the news in the UK. All I can say is if you want to know… educate yourself.     I noticed a lot of people wondering about the connection between the "minerals" and the rape. Basically, there is no real government in the Congo… so there are these warring factions… and they are fighting over control of the Congo… because whoever has control of the Congo has control of the minerals… and minerals = money. The sad thing is that the United Nations sent a task force over to "help" these women… and several of the men on that task force were found to be raping women as well. Once repeatedly raped, the women are many times left incontinent and have few choices for medical help. There are special hospitals that give support to these women, and I would encourage everyone to google that information and do what you can to help. Neither power, nor love, nor hate is the greatest human attribute. It is our ability to feel mercy that sets us apart from all other species.
