A Date Is Set, Fighting For Mercy
As we've mentioned before, Madonna is trying everything she can to adopt little Mercy James from an orphanage in Malawi.
And what her Madgesty wants, she usually gets!
The appeal case to her failed adoption has now been pushed to May 4th and will be heard by a three-judge Supreme Court of Appeal panel in Malawi.
According to Joseph Chigona, the registrar of the High Court and the Supreme Court of Appeal, he said today that "As with all court cases involving infants, this one will be in chambers, not in an open court." Though you know someone will definitely be leaking the new$ to the media about what happens behind the closed doors.
Madge is not required to be present during the appeal process, which is good considering it can take up to two weeks.
Her attorney seems hopeful, stating that "We believe the lower court judge erred by basing her judgment on an archaic law of over 50 years ago."
Again, Madge is willing to offer this little girl a great life. Why deny her of it?

You can even look in your backyard of Detriot… I'm sure there are plenty of black, yellow, white, purple, green and blue kids you could adopt for half the cost.
glad to see her get a NO - i think she looks stupid with a black child - he is everywhere now that this adoptiong is an issue - before this not so much - her kids are toys for her that is all - and how does she explain the child she is dating - baby jesus to them? she should really give it up already - i am so sick of her and everything about her.
IT needs to abide by the law and live in the country for 18 months. Maybe that would knock her ass off her high horse. Oh wait, did that just happen?

No I don't think so. There is no reason why she would be allowed and take a shortcut. There are tons of great parents that follow all the rules. If she stayed there for 18 months she can go visit the girl and they can get to know each other. She might be a good mom to her kids but adoptive kids usually have problems and needs safety more then other kids. Traveling as much as she does is not good. Her situation is different from when she was married and I'm sure they see to that. I see ppl been posting that she can give the child so much but the important thing is that the parent is always there. This is crucial. Is she gonna do that on tour? Have her other kids go visit their dads and this one have none? Sounds cruel and selfish.
She should definitely be able to adopt her and save her from a life of being in an orphanage…she will keep the little girl in touch with her roots too…I don't see what all of the drama from the judge is about..it is stupid…the little girl has no family able to take care of her…she would want for nothing with Madonna..I mean that in an emotional sense as well.
Duh!! Well, of course. The little girl is an orphan! Why would anyone deny a child the possibility of a family and a secure life, just because of legal technicalities. I hope she wins!!!!!!
