In the latest round of interviews with Miss California herself, Carrie Prejean explains that she believes the controversial question we popped the pageant queen Sunday night was solely a test of Prejean's faith???
"By having to answer that question in front of a national audience, God was testing my character and faith. I'm glad I stayed true to myself," said Prejean in an interview Monday night.

Carrie Prejean: Yes, lots of phone calls. I've gotten over 500 facebook friend requests, hundreds of messages from people I don’t know, saying how proud of me they are that I stood my ground. That made me the real winner of the night.
FOXNews.com: Did your stomach sink when you first heard you picked Perez Hilton's question?
Carrie Prejean: I had a gut feeling. I knew he was controversial, and so was the question. Out of all the topics I studied up on, I dreaded that one, I prayed I would not be asked about gay marriage. If I had any other question, I know I would have won.
FOXNews.com: Did you think right away your answer may have killed your chances of winning?
Carrie Prejean: Yeah, I thought I was going to be 4th runner up for sure. I was surprised I made it to first runner up!
FOXNews.com: Before "the question," did you think you would win Miss USA?
Carrie Prejean: There was a lot of talk about me, people saying I was the frontrunner. During the whole two-week experience leading up to the pageant, I was very confident and relaxed. Not too nervous.
FOXNews.com: Were you sad you didn't win? Did you go to the party afterwards, or go home and cry?
Carrie Prejean: No, I got together with my family. I ate my first hamburger in a long time!
FOXNews.com: Has the Miss Universe organization contacted you at all? What about your Miss California USA directors?
Carrie Prejean: I haven't been told anything. I didn't even see the Miss California directors after the pageant.
FOXNews.com: Are you upset that Perez Hilton called you a "b**ch" in his blog rant?
Carrie Prejean: Yes, but I have no regrets about answering honestly. He asked me for my opinion and I gave it to him. I have nothing against gay people, and I didn't mean to offend anyone in my answer.

When I initially heard something about this on the news, I thought she was going to say something outrageous. But no, she just voiced her opinion on the matter in a thoughtful way, even saying "no offense" to those who thought differently. I don't get what all the fuss is about. I'm really glad I don't live in the U.S. Especially California. If this is who you choose to represent your state, then I can only imagine the integrity of those who live there. She has a right to her opinion yes, but as Perez said, Miss USA should be uplifting, not negative. She could have stated her opinion and still had a positive attitude about the topic. I think it's fine for her to voice her opinion, even though I think it's weird for her to say, "in my country" since I think I live in the same country as her and I disagree. What bothers me is that she felt that entitled to the crown, and still feels that she should have gotten it.

good for her to continue standing up for herself and her beliefs. she sounds like a strong woman who stands her ground regardless of what others think and/or say about her. at no point has she retorted w/ hurtful nasty kindergarden name calling as most do. she does seem to have bit of an ego but if i looked like her and was in that situation, i probably would too. having an ego and degrading others are 2 completely different things though. i personally would rather have an ego issue over the self esteem problem that those have who degrade and try to diminish other's beliefs……
I really enjoy your website! Love to hear your hilarious take on all things celebrity, but I think you were out of line with Ms. California. The question was a fine one to ask, and her answer, whether you like it or not, is what the majority of Americans feel as well. Contrary to your belief, it is possible to be friends with people who are gay and still not believe in gay marriage. One of the things I love most about some of my gay friends is that I feel I can be more honest with them about my feelings b/c they are more accepting. And it was refreshing for ONCE to have someone tell the truth. Political Correctness makes me want to vomit!!! It's OK to have your own opinion. Horray to Ms. California for standing up for her beliefs even though she knew it would cost her. I think she was the best contestant there and should have won b/c of it. It shows true strength of character. And what else could I want in "My" Ms. USA than someone who I could be happy to my daughter emulate and respect!
