The Divas Are Back!

VH1 announced today that they will be reprising their VH1 Divas series!!!!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

The annual show has been on hiatus for the past four years, but VH1 will be airing the latest installment of VH1 Divas live from the Brooklyn Academy of Music on September 17!

Says Divas executive producer Lee Rolontz:

Over the years, we've received constant calls and emails asking us to bring back our 'Divas' show. Now more than ever, the time feels right to re-launch this beloved show as a new generation of talented female artists has come to the forefront of music… We've heard our viewers, and we promise to deliver a live show that will generate the same 'Divas' excitement as in the past — while also infusing some new twists along the way.

Past divas legends on the program have included Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and Cher, just to name a few.

So who will be performing at the divalicious show???

That's up to you!

VH1 has opened up voting on their website to decide which of your diva favs should take part in the 2009 show!

I am SO glad this show is coming back!!!

You know that we will see Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood for sure, but I am hoping that they toss in a few shockers to spice things up…but I really loved this show when it was on before!

OK. My dreamline up would be Jennifer Hudson first and foremost, then Adele, Mariah (but she's too much of a psychotic egomaniac to do it, Leona Lewis would have to do it to build up her dive cred, Christina Aguilera has to do it cuz she's falling off hard, Kelly Clarkson because she's one of the only pop stars around that can actually sing live, Lady Gaga just to add some slutty futuritic spice, Celine because you cant have Divas without Celine, if they wanted to add some drama they would re-reintroduce Whitney to the world but her crack voice isn't healed up, I love Beyonce but she's so freakin irritating and has this stank look on her face whenever someone tries and succeeds in outshining her and you know she'll probably be the headliner and tie it into her failing tour. I would love to see Britney and Rihanna do it but its called "Divas" not bitches with mad problems that can't sing live. If they even mention Hannah Montana i'm going to boycott VH1 the rest of my life. I like FUSE better anyway.

I live for the divas…but um…. why is ashanti there this isnt a county fair. Lol ashanti sucks and her mom is her only fan…lol who saw her on chelsea lately making chelsea announce that she's been gone for four years repeatedly like anyone even noticed lol she's lame to me, she has good songs when its produced in the studio but her live performance however are far from amazing…stratch that far from decent. I REALLY want to see Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan together. I really don't care who else, but I love Mariah to death, so I think she should be on every diva special. But for NEW divas that havent' been on the show, Jennifer Hudson is really the only newer singer that I feel is worthy of Divas status. When they had Ashanti on there before, I could have died of shock. And Leona Lewis can kill songs, so maybe her too. I'm thinking only great VOICES should go on there.

Criss Angel Responds To Recording Of Altercation! Says Producer Provoked Him!

There are two sides to every story! Here's his!

In light of the audio recording released yesterday that featured Criss Angel threatening to knock out one of his producers, the illusionist's attorney, Ken Woloson, has released the following statement:

"Criss Angel was in the process of firing Joe Safuto on Wednesday when Safuto became abusive and Criss asked him to leave. Criss decided to fire Safuto in response to repeated complaints from co-workers and other magicians about Safuto's abusive and violent behavior and general ineptitude. Witnesses have attested that there was no physical contact and that Safuto very clearly was the antagonist. The audio released to the media is a snippet of a much longer conversation. We are exploring legal action against Mr. Safuto, including for his defamatory and illegal conduct."

Ouch! Sounds like he means business!
