Alabama Supports Gay Discrimination Miss California

In good ol' Alabama, Republican state representative Jay Love has drafted a resolution praising Miss California, Carrie Prejean, for standing by her beliefs in inequality.
The resolution was introduced on Tuesday and has come before the House Rules Committee for consideration.
Every member of the House Republican Caucus has signed onto the bill as co-sponsors, along with some Democrats.
Democratic State Representative Alvin Holmes, however, said, "I am not for the Alabama Legislature honoring her in any kind of way."
Sounds like a spectacular waste of time and funding!

You have got to be one of the most ignorant self absorbed people I've ever come across. The matter of the issue is NOT gay discrimination but rather freedom of speech. She didn't say anything against people who are gay. She merely voiced her opinion by stating that by her beliefs, marriage is meant to be between a man and a woman. Get over yourself. Supporting her does not mean you support gay discrimination. I commend her for answering honestly. I may not agree with her, but I admire her for not trying to please the judges. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions - I think it's stupid for perez to try to influence all of his readers to go against her.

Your headline is misleading. Alabama doesn't support Miss California–just a handful of Republican house representatives. Do you know how few of the representatives are Republican? Alabama–like a lot of the south–is mainly made up of Democrats.
