Drew was fantastic in the movie. I have even more respect for her after seeing actual pictures and video footage of the woman she was portraying! Kudos to Drew (and Jessica Lange as well)..

  2. 2

A great movie and she did a great job. I see an Emmy in her future.

  3. 3

you could tell that drew put a lot of effort in learning who eddie beal was in reality. although she suffered through most of her life, she was still a joyful, beautiful person. i love bio-topics that really capture who the people were. i hope drew wins an award for this production. i'm so happy for her.

  4. 4

Beautiful movie! Drew was fantastic, as was Jessica Lange, but Drew was really the star of the movie. If she doesn't win an Emmy for this, I will be surprised.

  5. 5

I have never been a huge Drew fan. She has always been so commercial and "romantic comedy" but she just blew me away in this film. She was hands down AMAZING! I really want to see her in more meaty parts in the future. I agree with BELLABABY12, I have a great new respect for Drew as well.

  6. 6

    I'll bet drew is gay.

  7. 7

All i saw was "Drew Scores" and I thought she was chosen to direct Eclipse!! thank god lol love her though.. good for her - her acting was incredible i'm pretty sure her and jessica will both be nominated for Emmy's and Golden Globes next year

  8. 8

HELLOOOO!!! You need to give Jessica Lange some credit if not more for her preformance of Bid Edie. having seen the original documentary several times, she's dead on

  9. 9

    I thought she was mediocre.

  10. 10

Drew did a really great job. I was nervous to watch her play little Edie because she is so well known and recognizable as an actress. I'm happy to say she exceeded my expectations and she made me feel a great sadness for little Edie.
When I was working on the set of Drew's directoral debut "Whip It!" she was not intimidating in any way. She even sat in the cafeteria and ate dinner with all of the extras. I've been watching her in films since I was like 4 years old so it was kinda uncanny.
Best Luck to her in all her future projects.

  11. 11

it was pretty good - they sure did live in a dump

  12. 12

Drew's performance was nothing short of BRILLIANT!!!! Jessica's performance was also note-worthy. I HIGHLY recommend people see this film. I can't stop thinking about it.

  13. 13

Have not seen the film (being in Australia) but this is a stunning photo of Drew. She should keep her hair like this. I've always thought she was gorgeous, but WOW. Classic and understated, yet completely radiant. Yay, Drew, yay.

  14. 14

The movie was lovely, everyone involved did a fabulous job! Was very impressed with both Drew and Jessica.

  15. 15

She looks fantastic with her hair and makeup like that.

  16. 16

After reading the ridiculous interviews with her and Jessica Lang before the movie I was prepared to dislike it. But I really enjoyed Drews portayal of Little Eddie.

  17. 17

I loved the film! It really portrayed Little Edie and Big Edie
in the best possible way. You can really see the amount of effort
Drew and Jessica put into this fabulous character study! Brava!

  18. 18

Drew did a great job. Hate her or love her, it's all irrelevant. When you watch the behind-the-scenes on making Grey, Drew nailed the characteristics of the original Edie Beal down to a tee.

    Bravo!

  19. 19

They were both perfection! You must watch the Maysles documentary to see how spot on they were.

  20. 20

    SMOKIN' HOT

  21. 21

She was great and so was the movie. I want to see the original documentary. What a crazy relationship those two had.

    23

she looked pretty, in most parts, but the movie was GOD awful, I never been more bored. I still like Drew.

  24. 24

The movie was ok I think they should of chosen a better actress than drew. I sincerely don't think she did the part justice. I also think her take on the accent wasn't very good and made it distractable.
I think the movie was interesting because of it's subject matter.

  25. 25

    Re: Singer32

I feel the sae way. I can't stop thinking about it either.

  26. 26

We were laughing the whole movie. She was so bad. Not sure why people think she is a good actor. Appearing in a movie with Jessica Lange does not help, it just shows how weak she really is. But she will get an Emmy and People Choice or golding globe.

  27. 27

Having seen the original documentary a few times, I really loved the movie. I thought Drew's performance was quite good. I can't believe how much the two actresses looked like the Beales in the movie!

  28. 28

drew was fabulous and so was jessica lange. drew should totally win an emmy for her performance!

    29

Drew looked gorgeous as a young Edie. I loved the movie.

  30. 30

The movie felt like what HBO use to be.
Super cool and not your typical thing you would see on TV. I was going to drop HBO because I thought there stuff had become crappy and not quality programs like Six Feet Under and Sopranos.
    HBO, more stuff like this!!!

  31. 31

    I love me some drew!

  32. 32

Drew and Jessica were both great in this movie. I noticed that Drew worked hard to hide/overcome the lispy lisp she has.

  33. 33

  34. 34

    She is a great actress

  35. 35

She looks alot older now…I like her in that hair color

  36. 36

    she looks like susan sarandon

  37. 37

I LOVED this movie!!! Barrymore and Lange are FANTASTIC in it!!! Perfect!!!

  38. 38

enough with the drew was amazing bullshit. now, jessica lange…SHE was amazing. personally, i think HBO missed the boat not casting another actress…Chloe Sevigny. She would have NAILED IT.

  39. 39

What a wonderful job everyone did on making this classic documentary come back to life!

    LOVE IT!!!

  40. 40

I really liked this movie. it wasnt alot of hollywood hoopla, just great acting. I thought it was very interesting, and I loved Drew in it. she proves that she is a terriffic actor and not just in romantic comedies.

  41. 41

Re: lolli – that was her accent from whereever the hell they came from dummy!

  42. 42

Re: wwwwttttt – you have no clue what you are talking about, you big fool!!!!!

  43. 43

This movie was a total joke. Jessica was great, but Drew stuggled with the new england accent and it came off as contrived. I love Drew, but she should stay within her limits and needs to know she has them.

  44. 44

this bitch is a fucking ogre. especially without makeup.

  45. 45

HEY!!! Wait!!! I thought this movie was coming out in theatres! I LOVE Drew Barrymore!!! I didn't know it was on HBO! Damn I dont have HBO!
