Homosexuals deserve the same rights as heterosexuals… but you CAN'T change the definition of a word. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Gay people are creative why can't they think of a fun word for a civil union.

I am a gay man myself and in the UK we have the opportunity to have civil partnerships. Your site has taken a turn for greater purpose recently, and your bringing this subject into the spotlight has really struck a controversial debate that wasn't discussed enough during the passing of Prop 8.

Marriage is a constitution which a lot of hetrosexuals take for granted, marriage is about love and companionship, marriage is a step in life which people aim for, straight or gay. The divorce rate of hetrosexual marriages is at a peak, denying one same sex marriage is the same as denying hetrosexual marriage the right to divorce and if that were a suggested proposition it would have a landslide loss.

Keep fighting for your cause over there, you KNOW you're not alone and you must receive enough abuse on the matter everyday to think about giving up, but DON'T!! I understand that gay marriage is really important to you, but you've made this into a crusade. This is a gossip site, and I don't think very many people come here to read page after page about it. It's a little bit overkill. You do that occasionally but it seems like it's every other post…You could like update posts or keep a post with links to another page or something but it's EVERYWHERE. Goodness!

Interestingly, I just read an article talking about MLK's children.

You might be aware that they are building a national monument for MLK Jr. on the Washington mall. A huge statue and memorial is being erected. Well the family will not let anyone (ANYONE) use the civil rights leaders image or words without paying them! MLK's kids are getting almost $800,000 for the use of his image. That is fucked up.

"I don't think the Jefferson family, the Lincoln family … I don't think any other group of family ancestors has been paid a licensing fee for a memorial in Washington," said Cambridge University historian David Garrow, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his biography of King. "One would think any family would be so thrilled to have their forefather celebrated and memorialized in D.C. that it would never dawn on them to ask for a penny."
King would have been "absolutely scandalized by the profiteering behavior of his children," Garrow said.

Martin Luther King must be raisin hell in heaven seeing you use his words to defend something he would have NEVER been for: gay marriage. He would be defending Miss California for standing up for her beliefs and practicing something he felt very strongly about: freedom of speech. Gays have come so far, 10 years ago hate crimes against gays were happening everywhere and aids was considered a gay disease. Ellen, who I love was pretty much blackballed for coming out on her show and today she is applauded. You can't have everything. Civil union, marriage what's the difference to you. If you aren't a Christian the word marriage is just a word, it holds no true meaning so why do you need it. I agree that if you don't like "civil union" make up your own word. OMG PLEASE PEREZ!!! MLK's quotes were not geared towards GAY RIGHTS!!! Please find another activist to quote. I saw two dudes kissing in a restaurant the other day, and were they kicked out NO!! Can they eat in any restaurant, sleep in any hotel and live on any side of town…..YES!!! However back in the 60's and prior decades, BLACKS COULD NOT….So THAT is what MLK's quotes were for….CIVIL RIGHTS FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR….Now i have no problem with gay marriage.
