I know this subject matter may not endear you with a portion of your fans and you are risking a lot financially by stepping up on these matters. I further challenge all celebrities who take advantage of your efforts as a blogger to further their celebrity status to speak up and speak out. The way the Gov is structured it gay marriage should be allowed. My religion does not see this as acceptable, but religion and government are two separate entities. For Christian the Bible says "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Cor 6:9-10)". There are other religions out there as well that the Government recognizes and they should, by law accept gay marriage if there truly is a separate Church and State. Right?
Perez, I have completely supported you with gay advocacy groups who can't believe you are "a hero" on this. Not sure where they've been living. Anyway, you do need to get a bit of on-air media training to stay on message. And you need to stress this:
She did not lose because she is against GAY Marriage; she lost because she was inarticulate and ignorant of the facts. She erroneously said people could choose in America with regards to marriage, when that's not true and used the term "Opposite sex" marriage which is a new one. Stress those tings and stay away from the gay marriage debate. That is where she is getting her traction and her ignorance is getting lost. And point out she lives in California where Prop 8 was on the air EVERY DAY for a year.

Take a crash course in anthropology or biology. There are five different sexes - male, female, pseudo-hermaphrodite female, pseudo-hermaphrodite male and hermaphrodite. So to say that there are major differences between the two genders is ridiculous - the only difference is one is out and one is in. Gender and sex are culturally constructed. And don't even get me started on the whole "every religious and non-religious tradition". That's a load of bull - many cultures practice ritualized homosexuality - the Sambia in New Guinea for example. Free thinkers in Greece practiced homosexuality as well - just look at today!! We have so many free thinkers that are for gay marriage. It's sad that you think that marriage should only be between a man and a woman when marriage itself is a social construct. Culture is fluid and changes - it isn't stagnant and I think you need to realize that the times are changing. What is it to you if a man and a man or a woman and a woman get married? No one is forcing you to be a homosexual.
P.S. And children are sexually confused because they are sexually oppressed, maybe if someone sat them down and told them what was going on with their bodies instead of telling them they are dirty we wouldn't have so many confused young adults and adults.

I'm an advocate for gay marraige. But Dennis Prager did have valid points. I think that with this issue, there is no black and white answer because you have to take the good in with the bad. The children factor in regards to being questioned on whether or not they will marry a boy or a girl is important. That will confuse them… but I do believe that same sex couples can provide a loving home.
Even though Dennis Prager made a few good points, as did Perez, I think that the benefits of allowing gay marraige and having equality for all outweighs the cons!

At the beginning he repeatedly brought up religious marriage specifically which irked me imensely. Any two people should be able to have the right to be maarried in the eyes of the COUNTRY! I don't understand what he means in saying that a child will be raised differently by two men or two women than if they are raised by a man and a woman. First of all is there any study from which he can extract and present results? Until there is the whole child thing should be left out. We're talking about marriage here. If i were to marry a man right now would it have any effect on him? NO! So why does he care so much as to deny me any rights?

I really have to disagree. As nice as you sounded on Larry King, like a reasonable and tolerant person, the fact of the matter is that you are not. That's what I cannot abide about the gay agenda, anyone who disagrees on moral or religious or ethical or historical (how many socities in the history of the world have ever had homosexual marriage?) grounds is instantly demonized, which is characteristic of the intolerant gay agenda.
You may think I'm crazy, but I'm not. I just happen to disagree with your perspective. I think Perez and Carrie should sit down to coffee. But Perez shouldn't think he's not the one who needs to learn something.

Wow, I tuned in late and thought I missed a whole bunch but I only missed the intros, NICE! The debate was pretty good. Mr. Prager has some points when it comes to religious marriage but that is not the issue! I can guarantee that the majority of gay people couldn't care less about being married under a religious union. Civil union all the way! They want rights! It is not fair to be segregated for any reason.
On another note, it's obvious Mr. King supports gay marriage, which makes me happy =)

I watched LKL last night. Perez, you were the only person speaking that actually had a cohesive and intelligent though process. Dennis Prager was incapable of saying anything that was sensible. And he repeated himself. over and over again. I especially loved how he kept saying how kids will have to decide at 7 or 8 who they are going to marry… a boy or a girl. Um, I can safely say I never thought about getting married when I was a child. I can go on and on but the bottom line is, Dennis Prager is a douche. Perez, congrats on being a real and valid voice.

Perez - I am a supporter of gay marriage, but this guy totally kicked your ass. He came off as a professional, well thought out, intelligent guy who could articulate his opinion in a succinct way. You came off an overly emotional, un prepared, and not very well thought out.
If you're going to continue to appear on major news shows and make this your cause, you need to come up with some succinct talking points that you can use to make your point. This will help you avoid looking like a swishy overly emotional gay guy….

That whole bit about boy scouts and girl scouts was ridiculous. His argument FOR interracial marriage should have supported an argument in favor of gay marriage: Like with like. There's no difference between a black person and a white person, so they should be allowed to marry. Well, there's no difference between two men, or between two women! So they, too, should be allowed to marry — by that idiot's logic! That debate pissed me off. Don't worry, Perez. Someday, gay marriage will be legal, and we will all be shocked that just a few short years before, such inequality existed as to ban gay people from marrying.
