Alabama Honors Miss California

What are the government officials in Alabama thinking?
The Alabama House has just approved a resolution by Republican Rep. Jay Love of Montgomery that "praises Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean for speaking out against gay marriage."
Does everyone in Alabama feel that way?

No, Perez, not everyone in Alabama is like that. I live in a pretty small town here in Alabama and I do not feel that the House of Representatives made a good decision. They most definitely were not considering the full Alabama population in this decision. But do I think Miss California is wrong? Now, no I do not. I personally do not agree with her answer to YOUR question, but that is the beauty of everything. She does have her own opinion, just like you do and just like I do. I believe she answered it trying to keep it true to herself. But in retrospect she should have considered how the state of California really wanted that answer because she was representing the state. She shouldn't have played the Christian martyr but she did and that can't be changed. I do believe there should be equality for all and maybe one day we can reach that but until then keep standing up for your beliefs just as Miss California did.
I don't understand why so many people are giving her such a hard time about her answer. First of all, the question was out-of-line and unfair. They should have asked every contestant a question like that one. Second, she stated her opinion in a clear and concise manner and is sticking with it, I respect her integrity. Third, it appears her answer had a negative impact on her performance in the competition; she has suffered a direct negative impact as a result of her answer. Leave it alone.
That jackoff who asked her the question is milking this issue for his 15 minutes of fame.
btw. I believe in same sex marriage.
I've lived in AL my entire life, and fortunately, my mother raised me to treat everyone 100% equal. I in NO WAY support this douche, but sadly, most in my state do. I was shocked when I read about this on CNN this morning. BOO!!!!!
IF YOU SAY CALIFORNIA ONE MORE TIME PEREZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
This coming from a guy who looks as "camp as a row of tents"?
I mean really…….
Do these people have nothing better to do? I just saw a map the other day of high school drop out rates across the U.S. and Alabama has one of the highest rates in the country. Maybe they should work on that instead.
Re: ScottySauce – If perez hilton was USING this opportunity for his 15 minutes, then why was he invited to be a judge in the first place?
Also, i'd like to know how it was unfair? It was a pre-approved question, that seemed pretty straight-forward and relevant to me.
Good for them, that's THEIR RIGHT as a STATE! They can pass whatever f*ck*ng proclamation they want!
Alabama has a strong civil rights history. Does a Ms. Rosa Parks come to mind?
CIVIL RIGHTS, not GAY RIGHTS. Alabama can praise whatever and WHOEVER the hell they want.
Get off your sybian horse you middle aged cry baby.
I'm from Birmingham Alabama and I DO NOT BELIEVE IN GAY MARRIAGE. Its great to hear theres SOMEONE in California that feels the same. I'm very proud of my state and I'm blessed to live here. If you dont feel the same way as I do then get the fuck out of here. We don't need you. This is and always will be a republican and mainly conservative state. A red state!!! We are not backwoods nor are we all rednecks, but I would rather be called that then Pro-Gay any day. Anyone that calls Alabamians inbred hillbillies trailor trash or whatever has obviously never been here…and I would like to keep it that way. Keep your liberal fag loving crap out of the south!!!!
BTW….War Damn Eagle…ha
People are saying Miss CA didn't win because she couldn't represent the USA with her opinion on gay marriage. I'm pretty certain that more people agree with Miss CA than with Perez. BUT it would have to be put up for a vote to be sure. Heck it didn't win in CA and CA is one of the most liberal states there is. She stayed true to herself. Should a beautiful talented woman not enter a beauty contest if she doesn't believe in gay marriage? That is just stupid. The question shouldn't have been allowed in the first place. I hope Mr. Hilton isn't asked to be a judge again. He used this to further his agenda and that is just WRONG. Liberals are fed up with the right shoving their views down their throats. BUT they do the same thing.
Re: LULU~* – 251 (Not that you ask…thought I would just toss this out there for the sake of conversation) My fave way of gauging someone is by their actions. Gotta' walk the talk, baby!
Way to go Alabama. Don't know much about the state but I support you all the way!
I want to scream and rip my hair out over this! NO not everyone in Alabama thinks this way. And I'm appalled at my State's government, how DARE they speak out on this issue. I am trying to find people in Alabama who are interested in organizing a protest.
what the hell does that have to do with what Alabama is stating? regardless of what Perez does and thinks, it's disgusting that equality is dead in 2009.
wow, how do you live with such a narrow minded attitude. I feel sorry for you.
Jay Love? Sounds a little too close to GAY Love for me. I think he's hiding something.
Enough, enough enough already!!! I'm on your side Mario, but SERIOUSLY, ENOUGH! You need to start another website or something for your political leanings. I thought his site was a CELEBRITY GOSSIP site - seriously tiring of the activism, I just want cheap, empty gossip!!!
not everyone in alabama feels that way. i'm from alabama and i say love is love. it should be left up to the person to choose who they wish to spend the rest of their lives together. i have seen waaaaaay more heterosexual couples divorce than homosexual couples. the state should have no say in the decision of two of the same sex getting married. oh, and that jay love guy = complete douche
Re: Kris10Leigh – Re: lptnal – Re: rachie1232 – Re: Teeray – Re: jgunter83 – Re: Kitty Demon – Thanks for keeping the peace, y'all! You are Alabama's finest!

The deep South really is a world unto itself…..says the ex-pat Texan, boyfriend from North Carolina.
What gets me upset that everyone doesn't seem to understand is yes she is entitled to her own opinion but she is against equality and thats the fucked up part. In the early 1900's and before that women had no rights and were treated like crap because they were suppose to be only house wives how about if we still had that I bet a lot of people come out of the woodwork to change that or slavery ended because why?? everyone should be treated equal. No human being has the right to tell another human being who they can and can't marry or who it is right for. People keep going on saying oh but its her opinion well this is time for change no one wants to be single minded anymore like seriously who the fuck are you to say you don't think its right I don't give a fuck!
As an Alabama born and bred southern girl, I can assure you - we don't all feel this way - or act this way. What a shame.
Re: b a t k i s s – This goes out all of you who have posted, Pro Alabama:Pro Equality. My intended Re: list was hella' long, too.

Thanks, y'all!

fuck you gay marriage haters.
long live the gays
MISS california is a TWAT
No we don't. I am from Alabama.
I believe in all that the Constitution stands for.
Equality for all, separation of church and state, and freedom of speech to name a few.
We must remember that although there are those who don't agree with our personal opinions that has nothing to do with law. Our Constitution is the most beautifully constructed document considering that we're one of the youngest countries and still have our original Constitution.
She does have the right to voice her opinion, but the people representing the law don't have the right to interject their CHURCH opinions into STATE matters of Constitutionality (is it fair or unfair to take or give rights to someone…to all those who don't know).
Point being:
EQUALITY is given to us by the law…and shouldn't be taken away.
CHURCH matters don't belong in STATE affairs.
FREEDOM of speech is wonderful…some countries kill people for speaking their mind. Be thankful we all can…homosexual, heterosexual, democrat, republican, Christian, Jewish, Atheist, Muslim…you name it. We all have that right.
I am from Mississippi, and I can ASSURE you that not everyone in the south is a homophobic redneck!
Not everyone, but the majority, yes.
And, in a democracy, the only ways to enact laws are by the consent of the majority, the majority consensus of the representatives thereof, or an official court ruling. And right now, in AL, that is against gay marriage unilaterally.
I don't have an opinion either way- but if you want to actually do something, why don't you inform people rather than ridicule them? More flies with honey, you know.
I DO hate that in a hospital a gay man may be denied the last chance to see his dying lover. That he may be denied things left to him in his will. Those are sad things. But, until one side decides to ACTUALLY TRY AND COMMUNICATE, nothing will change. By condemning someone for their opinion, Perez, you have confirmed what many people have thought about homosexual people.
Good job.
Ugh! What a douche bag! I am from Alabama and it's people like this that make me thankful I'm not there anymore. Seriously it is so ridiculous that there is still inequality in this world!!! SOOOO glad I live in Australia now!
Like any state, people in Alabama have different opinions. Some are against it, some aren't. People are entitled to their opinions. I am from Alabama & I believe that everyone has the right to be happy. Just do what you do & screw everything else.
Yeah, Perez, I'm sure the whole damn state feels that way… every last one of them. What a dumb question!
Re: BennyScrap – Civil unions are not a RIGHT they are a PRIVILEGE. I am so sick of people thinking they have rights to everything. We only have specific rights the rest is privilege.
Heard about this and I am SO embarrassed! I'm from the lovely state of Alabama and can't believe that something like this had to approved as a resolution. What the fuck are they doing in Montgomery and wasting time with this stupid ass shiz?!? I'm furious as a taxpayer that they would waste time and resources by declaring this and as a gay male that my state would uphold such inequality!
I mostly love iving here until something like THIS happens. I apologize for all of the ignorant, redneck, assholes that thought this was a good idea.
one time i called someone in alabama and the first thing they said to me was
you better not be some n*gger calling my numbaaa.
Then I assume he hung up drank another 40 beat his wife/sister and went back to living an uneducated ignorant wack ass life where the most exciting thing he will ever do is hunt some poor animal
these people are just a waste , they dont step out of their tiny towns god forbid they see the real world and have an open mind.
funny part was Im not even black I sound like a preppy white girl, so im told lol
that guy is 100% HOMO!!!
he looks gay!!
Wont be shocked when the media finds out he has a secret gay relantionship with billy bob down the street.
Im from Montgomery Al and I don't feel that way love is love
They have the biggest confederate flag in the US there–and it's right by an all black graveyard. Listening to Alabama points of view is like going back in time to 1840!
i think this guy ate my ass at this disco themed party last year.
So now we are going to go through ever fucking state in the union on this topic?
HE GOT ALL THE CORN OUTTA MY HOLE………….LOL…………………
Yay! Go Alabama!
not all ppl hate gays…i dont..i'm from alabama..well the govenor didnt say he hated gays or anything…gahhh u ppl need to chill really…i meen…Marriage is for a man and woman…if two men want to get together and have a relationship fine…Same goes for women…I dont support gay marriage however if two men love eachother or w/e then fine but dont get married in god's name.
Dear Perez, Last time I checked, we in America live in a democracy. People, whether they agree with you or not, ARE entitled to their opinions. Haven't you heard the phrase, "I don't agree with your opinion, but I defend to the death your right to say it"? When I was first turned on to your website, I thought it was entertaining. But it's becoming filled more and more with very cruel, salacious comments. You certainly have your favorites who can do no wrong, and others who you constantly dig at and about whom you make really disgusting, completely undeserving remarks. I made the mistake of returning to your website even after you compared the looks of Amy Winehouse and Adam Sandler's little girl. That was one of your all-time lows, and totally unwarranted. We heard your opinion about Miss California. Now here's MY opinion: gossip is one thing, and perhaps celebrities are, to an extent, "fair game"; but writing undeserved, cruel things about their little children, now that's REALLY low and completely unwarranted and unnecessary. Perez, if you've never heard of the phrase I quoted at the beginning of this message, here's another one that's quoted FAR more often: "Opinions are like buttholes; everybody has one," so deal with it! (By the way, I am a straight woman, a Protestant church-goer all my life, married with kids, and I am pro gay marriage.)
Marriage is not a right, it's a privilege afforded to heterosexuals because they actually have the ability to propagate the species. First and foremost marriage is for procreation and secondly it is to prevent fornication. Have none of you tools ever read Jane Austen's, "Pride and Prejudice".
DOWN WITH JAY LOVE
UP WITH GAY LOVE
what a tosser that dude is.
well, i'm from AL and i believe in equal rights for everyone (stress the "every") and a separation of church and state. denying two people the right to marry whatever their gender may be, is unconstitutional- in my opinion- by denying them their "pursuit of happiness". but america is what it is- which gives the ignorant and narrow-minded the right, however unfair it seems, to say hurtful things.
Effing Southern Baptist Bible Belt thumping biggots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how embarrasing….. And you know not everyone in Alabama feels that way… come on now….
Re: ObstinateBitch – So you admit it is a dysfunction ~ Great. And no I am not saying that anyone should be denied ~ what I am saying is that we can make concessions/make comfortable anyone who needs this and isn't that what Civil Unions do?? Leave Marriage for the heteros and CU for the homos. Does it matter what it's called?
I can't speak for all Alabamans, but being born, raised and educated there, I can tell you that we don't all feel this way. Lots of times, it's that older generation of busy-bodies that have nothing more to do than espouse their fear and hatred of the unknown, all while hiding behind Jesus and the Bible. But I'm very encouraged that most of my immediate peers don't harbour that kind of bigotry, even those who were raised in households where bigotry was sanctioned and the norm. I can honestly commend my mother for driving home one very important lesson when it comes to treating one another: "Do unto others as you'd have them to unto you"! It just seems to be so much easier to respect one another, regardless of our beliefs, than to try to exist with a heart and mind rife with hatred!
Re: Passionate – NOT OWNED ~ She still needed what a MAN provided!! She couldn't do it without a man. OWNED!
Why do some of you insist that everyone share you opinion? We are all entitled to choose so why bash those who don't agree with you? The poor girl was asked her opinion and she gave it. She wasn't asked what Perez believes or anyone else, she was asked what SHE believed. I applaud her for staying true to herself. If only more people stated what they really believed and less stated what they thought everyone else wanted to hear…
That guy is totally gay, Perez lend a hand and bring this man out of the closet. I am almost positive that the upperclass conservative in the closet gays are the only reason gays cant get married everywhere
Re: OMGitsme2 –
She needed sperm, not a man. LOL! Ironically, she had a boy. Plenty of men are sperm donors. We can milk every man on the planet and catch them little tadpoles for eternity. Anyway, just making a point. Natural Selection is a complete fallacy in the argument against homosexuality. Further, plenty of hetero couples are infertile or choose not to have children but are able to get an official marriage/civil union license. Now back to gossip….will lohan eat tuna or tube steak tonight???????
I am ashamed that my state would even try to pass anything like this. For one thing, why are they focusing on something like this anyway when they should be working on other more important things. My tax money is helping pay for this shiz! And I FULLY APPROVE of gay marriage. Most of Alabama is full of old fashioned prejudiced people.
hell ya we do
Alabama is White Trash at its finest.
yeah most people in the south, including myself, are against gay marriage, duh.
this doesnt even make sense to me…why are so many people wasting their time trying to destroy others?! doesnt the government have better things to do?! i am just really shocked…of course people have the right to speak their minds but this is ridiculous! i really cant put in to words how all this makes me feel…i never knew there was really that much HATE in the world and on this site. PEREZ- why are there so many ignorant, malicious, hateful people coming to your site, dont you have an asshole filter? and why would they come to YOUR site, read YOUR articles & opinions and waste their precious time commenting on YOUR blog if they have such strong views against the LGBT community?! wow…this stuff blows my mind! oh yeah…not EVERYBODY from alabama feels this way…my GIRLFRIEND was born & raised there. glad she got out!
Re: kristen927 – way to go for being judgemental in the exact way that this argument/post is trying to stop. not everybody in the south is backwoods and backwards or "rednecks". fucking retard.
Re: emnes81 – "Alabama is ran by old money and old fashions. The younger generations think very differently." You're not the only one! Thank goodness for people like us!
I'm so embarrassed to live in Alabama.
no way does everybody in Alabama feel that way. I was born and raised there and that is not my view at all. That makes me sad. Equality for all!!!!
does everyone in Alabama feel that way ? ABSOLUTLY NOT ! i am from alabama and have lived here my whole life and have never felt that way , i think along with a ton of other people that if youre happy then go be happy with whoever that might be , man with a man , woman with a woman , or a man with a woman . i dont go against what she said because that is HER opinion and we all have them . Jay Love needs to quit doing anything because hes a complete douchebag .
Oh no Perez! I know I speak for a large portion of Alabama when I say that we are against this. It's total bullshit.
I agree with him completely! Marriage is between MAN and WOMAN
The Alabama House and this guy are embarassing me. I live in Alabama, have a gay son and generally love the south BUT I do NOT agree with this ridiculous move. Do we not have more important things to do in the House of Representatives?!?!?
What a funny coincidence! I ask how my husband's day at work was when he got home today. He said, "You'll never guess who was sitting at the table next to me at lunch today." None other than Gay, I mean, Jay Love. He almost lost his appetite.
It's unbelievable to me that because a person doesn't believe the way you do about gay marriage, you resort to name calling. Now having said that,My personal opinion is that everyone is entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If that means a man chooses to spend his life with another man or a woman chooses to spend her life with another woman that is their right. But, marriage is understood to mean a union between a man and woman for the purpose of procreation. It would serve the gay marriage movement better to pursue Civil Unions which provide the same spousal rights as in marriage. As for Ms California, no one should be bad mouthing her for answering the question honestly. Could she have lied and won the pageant? Probably, but she would have to look at herself in the mirror every day and live with her decision to be unfaithful to her beliefs. I respect her for being honest and not compromising her integrity. As for Christians forcing their opinion on the gay community, the same thing could be said about the gay community forcing their opinion on Christians. Finally, yes it is true that we had a referendum on the ballot to remove the interracial marriage from the books. Yes, 41% voted to keep the law on the books, but 59% voted to remove it. Please stop with the name calling. It doesn't help your argument and really puts anyone who might be swayed to fight you instead of joining you.
Since gay marriage is something up to the states to decide, kudos to Alabama to sticking to their values. Double kudos to the states who had legalize same sex marriage.
If other states want to legalize it, fine with them, but the states that doesn't want to, should be leave alone; we cannot make every state of the republic to think the same way.
Besides, if a homo couple who gets married in (for example) Vermont decides to move to Alabama that marriage is still legitimate. I don't see the big deal on why ALL the states of the republic have to think like you, Mario.
Obviously, not everyone in any state thinks the same. Issues like this are NOT black and white, but having been born and raised in a state with a controversial and sometimes violent history I've gotten both increasingly accustomed to and increasingly annoyed by ignorance all around. For instance, it is, in my OPINION, ignorant to treat people as sub-citizens because of race, ethnic origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or gender. It's also ignorant to make comments about a state being "backwoods" or "redneck" and it's disgustingly snobby, also in my opinion, to trash talk people who live in trailers. Not everyone is fortunate enough to afford nice, big, cushy houses.
I support everyone's right to voice an opinion until they take actions that hurt other human beings. Miss California certainly is entitled to her opinion, but the way she answered the question was both hurtful and offense to anyone who is homosexual or who has friends or family that are. I don't agree with the way she voiced her opinion, and as a heterosexual woman that has many homosexual friends, it hurts my feelings. But reacting with a similar or worse attitude COMPLETELY hurts the cause.
To those that DO feel the need to make comments about Alabama, let me say again, that broad, sweeping generalizations are ignorant…that one included.
This is why I love my country….. CANADA!
I think we're completely more accepting and a lot less ignorant of real people with real feelings… when it comes down to it, we're all people, Gay, Straight, Bi, Male, Female, Christian, Buddhist, WHOEVER!
So to all the gay-haters and the ignorant people of Alabama… live like Canada, even better, ACT like Vancouver! Add a little colour in your lives, it's LOVE! Let everybody LOVE who they want.
PS: PRIDE 2009 VANCOUVER IS GOING TO BE OFF THE CHAAAAAIIIN THIS YEAR! Perez you better be there.
of course because its alabama
just like texas
just like california
It will be interesting if the current Miss USA wins the Miss Universe wins the Miss Universe competition. Guess who becomes Miss USA then?? Whoever guessed Miss California is right. Gives me mixed thoughts about who I want to win what.
boooooo
Jesus was a liberal. Anyone who truly claims to be Christian should love and accept everyone…EVERYONE… just as Jesus did.
Scotty sauced up bigot- Miss Californias answer was problematic on so many fronts I dont know where to begin. She started out with some drivel about everyone has a choice and thats whats great and then her rightwing mean-spirited republican bigotry kicked in and she gave a very undiplomatic uncompassionate answer, yes it was the lowlifes answer but it was still disgusting and not worthy of someone who is going to be miss usa. Miss USA represents everyone, not just rightwing uneducated bigots like Miss Ca. So her answer has made her the hero for the rightwing cesspool of rednecks and bigots, wow.now she can get a job on Fox news. OH by the way I wonder if while dating Micheal Phelps did she smoke pot with him,did she sleep with him,I want to see how honest her Christian rightwing beliefs are.

I am a LIBERAL AND A DEMOCRAT and I say more power to Carrie Prejean.
Carrie Prejean is a Total Class Act. Perez Hilton is a PC Stalinist gay marriage fanatic and an obnoxious insult to all Progressives.
If the GOP has any brains whatsoever they should forget about wackjobs Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin and start grooming Prejean.

Total Class Act: Carrie Prejean
I am a staunch Liberal Democrat, ( and for the record support civil unions ), and I say more power to Carrie Prejean! I think her answer was honest and polite. Whatever her politics might be, she is a Total Class Act.
If the GOP has any sense left at all, they should forget about nutters Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin and start grooming Prejean.
The PC Stalinist gay marriage fanatic Perez Hilton, on the other hand, has been photographed in public naked from the waist down, while wearing a fluorescent pink wig. This idiot cares only about himself and is an insult to all progressives. If Perez Hilton becomes the face of gay marriage, gay marriage will lose.

No. Not everyone from Alabama feels that way. In fact many of us are just embarrassed. I for one and furious that my representatives are spending my tax money approving ridiculous resolutions instead of passing a budget.
ok stupid hicks dont matter..hes looks like someone in the closet or sum type of petafile creep. Fuck ignorant people. Who you like or love shouldnt effect anyone else so people should back off. Not everyone is RELIGIOUS! believe it or not! God created marriage for man and women only?? well maybe he doesnt even exist? Oh a book written ten thosuand years ago says it is so? just because your religious doesnt mean you can try to shove it down everyones throat. Fuck off live your own life and stay the hell out of mine bitch.
Jay jay- really you don't see why people need to stop being bigoted assholes, you really don't see it,wow ,it just shows what ignorant scum you are,
Beacon-you simpleton, you don't change society by being nice to slime and bigots ,you challenge them and you give it back to them, thats how change happens, If people in todays age are still against giving gays all civil and marriage rights they are either the most ignorant buffoons on earth or just bigoted jerks,I think usually its the second.
JOhn Bryans- You are really a sad case ,you see this bigotry as pc or not pc,you are a brainwashed victim of rightwing drivel and your claim to being so liberal is laughable. Lets recap,Miss Ca was offensive to a large portion of the population, this isnt someones personal moment to vent about people she doesnt like, when you want to be Miss usa your job is to be a diplomat and compassionate, after her mumbled and hostile answer she was neither a person representing all of the country nor was she compassionate. Do you think bigots need to be treated with respect, kindness a crown? What liberal doesnt believe in marriage rights for gays(some uneducated minorities)not any liberals or moderates. I mean almost half of Ca voters voted for gay marriage, and they werent all liberal, but I guess more liberal then you.
Jay Hate- Check his family tree I'm sure you will see lots of kkk and anti-black votes in this scumbags family tree. Gays won't be getting any rights in the south, because its 55 percent redneck hicks who hate gays,40 percent of lower income blacks who hate gays, and 5 percent of liberals who are pro-gay. So don't look to the poverty states of rednecks in the south for gay rights. The leaders of gay rights movements will happen on the coasts,New England and maybe California where there are large concentrations of upscale educated whites. Not pc and saying it like it is.
Re: knowitall –
That post is an amazingly astute example of ignorance. Did you do that on purpose?
As someone who has lived in Alabama her entire life, I can assure you that not everyone feels that way. In fact, we may be the 'Bible Belt' but may of us are ashamed to live in a state where our law makers act this way, where many of our fellow citizens are blinded by hate and bigotry and ignorantly use the teachings of a peace loving and accepting man to further perpetuate the cycle of ignorance and hate.
Hey moron. Why don't you bash the president you love so dearly? His exact quote…..
"I'm a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."
i'm from alabama and what makes me sad is you're judging all of alabama now like people judge you. i believe in eqaulity for all. but im losing faith in you.
do something with your hair too. it looks like shit
peoples opinions are neither right or wrong. Let people think what they want to think, and stop trying to push your opinions on everyone. No matter how hard people try, everyone in america will NEVER agree on this issue. It was simply one girls opinion, lets just leave it at that.
I think that Miss California has taken alot of crap for the whole thing. She answered the question honestly and gracefully which was what the judges should be looking for, not if she gave the "right" opinion. The entire "gay" issue frusterates me and i think lot's of people are being hypocritical about it. If Miss California said she supported gay marriage then there would be no issue and she might have taken the title. But some people are too thin-skinned and don't think of other peoples feelings. People who are against gay marriage are in the minority and are reverred to as unfeeling, cruel, heartless, or old fashioned. When in fact, marriage was ALWAYS intended to be between a man and a woman. God created man and woman to complement each others differences, like pieces of a puzzle. Marriage was never intended to be between the same gender, but people have a hole inside them they need to fill and some people see going against the grain a way to fill it. I, like Miss California, respect people with difference of opinion and do not think God hates people who decide to take part in or support gay marriage. But, I do NOT, nor will I ever, support gay marriage, and I'm not afraid to say so.

what amazes me the most, is that we are in the country with freedom of speech.(Supposely) However, no one can say what they believe, without been attacked by others. The fact that in the news paper was saying that miss Califonia might loose her pegeante competion, because she expressed her opinion, is just plain BS. So what if she doesn't believe that gays should marrie, who cares. It is like saying i want world peace, but that never happen, lets lOL about it. PLeaaaaase, we all should be able to say what we believe. Just get over it!!!If you have a problem with what she said then why are u gay? go get help.
Romans 1:18-32
Ignoring God Leads to a Downward Spiral
18 But God's angry displeasure erupts as acts of human mistrust and wrongdoing and lying accumulate, as people try to put a shroud over truth. 19 But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! 20 By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can't see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse. 21 What happened was this: People knew God perfectly well, but when they didn't treat him like God, refusing to worship him, they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. 22 They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. 23 They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand.
24 So God said, in effect, "If that's what you want, that's what you get." It wasn't long before they were living in a pigpen, smeared with filth, filthy inside and out. 25 And all this because they traded the true God for a fake god, and worshiped the god they made instead of the God who made them — the God we bless, the God who blesses us. Oh, yes!

26 Worse followed. Refusing to know God, they soon didn't know how to be human either — women didn't know how to be women, men didn't know how to be men. 27 Sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another, women with women, men with men — all lust, no love. And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it — emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches.

28 Since they didn't bother to acknowledge God, God quit bothering them and let them run loose. 29 And then all hell broke loose: rampant evil, grabbing and grasping, vicious backstabbing. They made life hell on earth with their envy, wanton killing, bickering, and cheating. Look at them: mean-spirited, venomous, 30 fork-tongued God-bashers. Bullies, swaggerers, insufferable windbags! They keep inventing new ways of wrecking lives. They ditch their parents when they get in the way. 31 Stupid, slimy, cruel, cold-blooded. 32 And it's not as if they don't know better. They know perfectly well they're spitting in God's face. And they don't care — worse, they hand out prizes to those who do the worst things best!

Sorry that we have morality in the south
