Director Chosen For Third Twilight Film!

A new director for the third film in the Twilight saga has been tapped!
David Slade, director of 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy, will be directing the upcoming Eclipse, which is due out in June 2010.
Slade was handpicked to direct the latest film in the vampire franchise because of his ability to "create complex, visually arresting worlds" and even Twilight author Stephenie Meyer is pleased with the selection!
"I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing Eclipse," expressed Meyer. "He's a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise. From the beginning, we've been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight saga, and I'm so happy that Eclipse will be carrying on with that tradition."

agh awsome that should take it to a whole new level of vampire street cred cool! ellen page is in Hard Candy and its an amaaaazing film so hopefully eclipse will take on some of its dark edgy style.

so excited for this movie! as much as i love twilight though i am way more excited for harry potter! the twilight cast is good-used to hate kristen until i seen her in adventureland she redeemed herself for her awful acting in twilight-used to love rob, but he's a tad bit overrated, used to love kellan-until i seen that video of him swallowing annalynn face and meowing like a cat lmfao can't wait too see how it turns out!
Hard Candy is dark and edgy, but amazing movie. 30 Days of Night's vampires were the complete opposite of Stephanie Myers'. How the hell is this going to work out?

A new director for each movie kinda sucks but I understand the whys of it. Eclipse is a great book, I hope they do it justice. Especially the "battle" and the mind reading/pack voices in each others' heads stuff. That might prove to be tricky.

If the movie sucks at least the action scenes will be good… and there's a lot of good action in that movie! I totally want to see edward kicking victoria's ass… and the volturi will appear again… and Bella truing to get Edward to have sex with her… and Jake taking his desperate measures to keep her human…I hope they make a pretty badass movie! My favourite book is New Moon, but Eclipse is the one with a lot of potencial to become a really good movie!
hard candy kicked ass, 30 Days kicked ass, he's awesome, the bokks are awesome, The books are amazing. The 1st movie was kinda lame compared to what it could have been, Robert is an amazing actor and musician, New Moon should be better…………….

i feel bad for people who can't use their imagination to understand how wonderful these books are. your missing out. It's no Romeo and Juliet by any means, but if you let your self go, you can have a wonderful experience reading the saga.

I'am so happy it's him and not that slut Drew Barrymore! I think his movies are great! Hard Candy is edgy and a little dark, and 40days and 40nights is really funny, so I think he'll do great:P It's my favorite book in the series with one of my favorite direcors to go with it! can't wait:)

Hard Candy was a good movie that hardly no one saw. This director will probably make a decent "Eclipse" - yay.
First, I have to say that choosing a new director for every film is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. I am glad that they got rid of the HACK that directed the first film but how is there supposed to be any consistency when they keep switching. WHATEVER IDIOTS! What they should have done is picked a new writer to work on the screenplay because Twilight was the ABSOLUTE WORST movie I have ever seen. EVER! And that was largely due to the crappy script. Those poor actors had crap to work with therefore crap was the end product. Second, I just have to add that the ONLY reason that the Twilight saga has become such a phenom is because the character Edward is so great. It is NOT because Stephanie Meyer is some great writer. I give her props for creating the character Edward because he is a great character and frankly that is the only reason to read the books. She is a mediocre writer who was smart enough to market her story to teenagers. Anyway, I pray that the second movie does NOT suck as bad as the first.
It's good that they're shooting it all at once. The kids can just wrap it all up in 2 years and then move one with their "professional" lives…not that I see much potential for many of them after the franchise ends.

what the hell is this? i feel that now, its more about the fact that they know that these movies are going to make money period. who cares who directs. from its one of the movies in the Twilight Saga its almost guaranteed to make millions. i think its a shitty idea to keep changing directors. summit entertainment is rushing it trying to get all these movies filmed and i think that its going to be a big mistake. that is why they are trying to get all these directors ready because they know due to the nature of these characters they have to stay young and look the same. Robert Pattinson even said that he cannot play a 17 year old vampire forever. i will go and see all of the movies. hopefully they will all be worth watching.

i think that they should of picked him from the start catherin hardwick sucked ass the movie was good but could of been great if david slaude did it and as for new moon im hoping for the best because i love these books and good books deserve good movies
