Aren't you the one who elevates the celebrities who refuse to honor "that piece of paper"? Who have bastards out of wedlock? Why the hypocrisy when it comes to gays and "that piece of paper"??? You don't believe in it any way - right???

      202

No, Perez, you're not supposed to smile and be nice. But you're not supposed to call someone a dumb bitch either for giving her opinion. She has rights and protections too, it's called free speech.

    3. 203

      fuck jeah

      have always supported u

    4. 204

luckily she lost the competition and will never work in Hollywood again! lol :D

    5. 205

Get over yourself. Let it go.

when you're trying to get superior rights, trying to make the whole world weird, trying to ruin childhoods with your sexuality, discriminate women and mothers then live with my opinion

      epic

ps: if you're seeing that not only you have rights, but the whole world and you're acting responsible, understand that you're not little boys but men, then i might rethink my opinion.

    7. 207

No one is endangering your rights. Sodomy was illegal in some states as recently as 5 years ago. Now you can bang a man or a horse legally. You've come a long way baby. Who needs a piece of paper in order to leave your sex partner your fortune when you die. That's legal, too. WHO NEEDS THAT PIECE OF PAPER?????? You sound like a whiney little girl who was dumped by a stud who wouldn't marry her. Act more like your idol Angelina - she doesn't need a piece of paper!!!!!

      208

Now flip the parties involved in your statement: You opinion gets in the way of her rights (freedom of speech).

Man, you are really not so bright.

      209

why would you ask someone for their personal opinion and then get offended when they don't agree with you? F gays and lesbians anyway. get back to celebrity news, not politics.

    10. 210

Re: JigSaw – [/re] Re: Snuggies keep me snug and happy – Courage to say what you believe in the face of opposition is required on either side of any debate whether you are a beauty queen or a gossip queen.
      =
PH has advanced the conversation about marriage equity even if we take issue with how he advanced it. The lightening rod does serve a unique and valuable purpose.
      =
My personal hope is that he can begin to address the socially significant issue of marriage equity (and after that, the next important social issue he fancies) with a voice unlike his gossip gansta' persona, absent the name calling. We can not make that decision for him but I have decided to stand by him because I believe it's not any singular voice that will get the job done.
      =
What he knows and many, many others of us in the gay community know is this…being passive has not been effective in creating change.

    11. 211

Re: lamb – I agree!! he censored mine too! Never showed it on the comments. I didn't say anything vulgar or anything to that matter. That is not fair…FREEDOM OF SPEECH PEREZ!!

    12. 212

Re: Marrakesh – Straight people have anal sex as well. LOL

    13. 213

If the tables were turned and Perez was up on stage and Miss California was the judge do you think she would have blown up at his answer??? No way!! GROW UP PEREZ! We all have heard what you had to say now stop whining and get on with your life we all have things that happen to us that we don't like its a part of life! WAHHHHHHHH

    14. 214

Re: shellmarie – How is it you believe homosexuality is a choice? Does this perspective come from your personal experience?
      =
If I may share my personal experience with you briefly, my sexuality was not a choice. Plain and simple, I am a third generation homosexual. I had the good fortune of meeting my grandfather's gay cousin!

    15. 215

Keep pushing!! This is nothing more than discrimination. All the negative comments are trying to demonize the gay community because as we all know, homophobics have unresolved gay tendencys.

    16. 216

Re: Cali Chick – Over 20?? My gosh. I'm pretty sure Perez should give up the game now. 20 whole readers?? Surely not.

In other news, to whoever said:

"Nobody's rights are stepped on. You have the right and privileges and protections to marry, just find a nice, wholesome girl and settle down. What you can' do is marry your dog, a horse, a doll, a 7 year old or another man."

…comparing homosexuality to paedophilia is so not cool.

To all the people saying "its an opinion its an opinion people are entitled etc etc" would "Put a ban on mixed race marriages" be a valid opinion? No it would not. And, of course, it is not my opinion. Everyone should have the right to love who they want to love and marry who they want to marry.

I say, keep fighting Perez and all you other USA gays!

    17. 217

Re: b a t k i s s – You are right…passive voices do not achieve change…but bitter, self-riteous, vindictive, whiney, alienating voices achieve less than that….those kind of voices, the one Perez is yelling with, make people turn the other direction and fight even harder against it just because of the person speaking.
      .
Women had to fight to get the right to vote…but if they had been whiney bitches and harped and nagged and overeggagerated everything men said and kept going on and on and on about non-issues and villified people for having a different opinion, it would have detracted from their overall cause and would have cost them the support of others and nothing would have been achieved.
      .
In the Age of Enlightenment, Voltaire said, "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." That idea is one of the building blocks of our Declaration of Independence…for someone who wants the rest of the world to be enlightened about gay rights and his personal causes, he sure doesn't embody the ideals of enlightenment himself.

    18. 218

I just love how you quote yourself, ha ha.
But you're so right, Perez, everyone should have the exact same rights :3

    19. 219

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!!

    20. 220

Re: Snuggies keep me snug and happy – At best we are all works in progress. Thanks for the Voltaire.

    21. 221

This is just pathetic on so many levels. First of all, posting your own words as "Quote of the Day?" Lame. Secondly, how did this girl compromise your rights? She's an ignorant 21-year-old, and yes, it's wrong of her to think that gay couples don't deserve the same rights as straight couples. But it was her opinion. And her opinion holds no sway. She's not a politician, or a lawyer, or even a preacher. She's a damn beauty pageant contestant. Your rights, privileges, and protections were never threatened. However, I have to say that because YOU decided to turn it into such a firestorm, those who are in agreement with this girl are rearing their ugly heads and gearing up for a fight. And the way you handled it, berating her on national television, calling her vile names on your blog, you are really not making a good case for your cause. The people who were against gay marriage (or gays in general, as is often the case) will only now feel that their stance is justified after seeing your behavior.

    22. 222

      Just to finish my thought…

I am totally on your side, in the sense that I believe all people deserve to express their love freely and have access to the same rights, but there is a right way to get that message out. And you are not doing it the right way.

As one of the most highly visible openly gay activists out there right now, maybe you should seek counseling from reputable gay rights committees and organizations as to how best get the message out, and how best to elicit a positive response. You have the power to do a lot of good, and you are wasting it by being a fame-whoring blowhard who talks before he thinks.

    23. 223

Perez, I love you, but please. More Lindsanity stories!

Marriage means two entirely different things to church and state. I'm Catholic, and I believe that if you're going to get married in the Church, then yes, it is between a man and a woman. The Church has every right to stand by its beliefs. BUT gays and lesbians should be offered the same rights and protections that straight people get when they marry. Gays and lesbians absolutely should have the right to have civil ceremonies. Why people still get up in arms about that mystifies me.

    24. 224

Oh my god, could you please shut the hell up about this?

    25. 225

      True, highly agree

    26. 226

LOL Perez you are pathetic. He must be referring to Obama, since Obama shares the same opinions as Miss Cali and he is the one with actual power.

      Hypocritical tard you are Perez.

    27. 227

i sure hope you read all your COMMENTS,

1st i do believe in equal rights … but in the bible it clearly states a marrige is between a man and a women…

2nd for centuries there has been homosexuals and now its all about who has more rights. which is okay because thats your opinion, but to knock down a beauty padgent contestant is just wrong.

they are suppose to be the spokes people of America and thats what she belived in… and that was her HONEST answer!!! not some bullshit she didnt stand by!!!

you truly are an ass hole for what you said, and in all REALITY you and all your GAY friends are going TO HELL!!!

SO INSTEAD OF PRAYING FOR EQUAL RIGHTS I WOULD BE PRAYING FOR FORGIVNESS!!!!

    28. 228

couldnt agree with u more Perez

    29. 229

      AMEN!

    30. 230

This subject is getting really old

    31. 231

Hey I have a question if anyone can answer???? I'm just wondering is this whole same sex marriage an American thing or is Europe or any other country having the same issues? Does anyone know?

    32. 232

Re: b a t k i s s – being respectful would be the best way for perez to go. not just on this issue, but with everything. When perez gets cornered or feels threatened in any way, he gets really nasty

    33. 233

opinions do matter idiots and they do influence people perez has every right to still mad about miss california's answer if youre not gay then you have no right to speak about whether perez should still be upset

    34. 234

Re: b a t k i s s – its people like you who will do miracles for the gay community. you are truly one of a kind.

    35. 235

      1. you don't have the "rights" to begin with
      2. who would marry your sorry-ass anyway

    36. 236

Re: b a t k i s s – While I understand what you are saying, I disagree with you. There have been no medical studies able to prove homosexuality is something you are born with. In my opinion, you have a choice in everything you do. For example, we will say Jamie was abused and molested by her father at a very young age, she may not find comfort in men anymore because of past events. I am not saying this has happened to anyone, however, generally a choice such as the one we are discussing maybe related to a past event that was very significant in a child's life. Rendering the child's inability to connect with the opposite gender understandable. This makes more sense than saying shes born with it. This is a huge life decision that if it is something one is born with, would be easy to determine at a childs birth. Now, since that is not the case, I will maintain my beliefs about it. Also, if this is something you are born with, why is it such a challenge to tell parents?

    37. 237

      YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT

    38. 238

      EXACTLY.

    39. 239

you know what perez, her 'opinion' doesnt get in the way of your rights. why did you ask her if you didnt want your opinion. you say be honest tell us what you think well you know what you put the ga in gay. Shave your little mohawk type hair. and you know what criss angel was right.

    40. 240

Re: MichLuv – You have your opinions and I have my own. One of the key steps in a debate is not to insult the person you are debating by using personal attacks. It shows weak character and a lack of knowledge on the subject matter. Now, if you have something constructive to say regarding the topic rather than hurling insults my way, I am more than willing to listen to your point of view. If not, please keep your personal attacks to yourself. Thank you.

    41. 241

Re: JigSaw – *blushes* Thank you.

    42. 242

Re: JigSaw – I second that….it's people like you who need to be heard.

    43. 243

It is now very obvious that Mario had this planned-he knew no matter how the question was answered, he would have a way to gather attention. Mario, that speech about the right answer, which was not even answering the question-she could have NEVER COME UP WITH THAT IN 5 SECONDS-you probably thought about that for weeks. You yesterday said this was getting ridiculous, but here you are again, yelling about it. I really wish that the miss usa organinzation, Trump, Carrie, and the Miss California org would all get together and SUE YOU FOR EVERYTHING-you had this planned. you and someone else because I don't think you are smart enough. YOU were willing to ruin someone's life for YOU AGENDA, YOU HYPOCRITICAL PIG. I would never vote against same sex marriage before, but you are getting me and others very angry-yes, let the states decide, just like california. Many people might not believe in same sex marriage but don't vote against it, but it they find out gay people are throwing people like Miss California under the bus to prove a point-the vote will change

Re: shellmarie – who cares? i dont like lima beans, was i born with that? I hate the color pink, was I born with that too? its called a preference, nothing more. If he is happy cant you let him be?
      ..
the whole world has a bad taste in their mouth over this whole gay thing. by that i mean the one or two gay people who act out and gave all the gay people a bad name. Just like perez is right now. just like the old saying, one bad apple spoils the whole barrel (well something like that). also being gay was always presented in a bad light years ago
      ..
batkiss asked me a question in a very heated post, he came to me in a very intelligent and respectful manner, and we became friends because of the dignity he presented

    46. 246

      cool pics by the way

    47. 247

Re: shellmarie – Why is it difficult to tell your parents you are gay? The answer to that question will vary widely depending upon who the gay person is and who the parent(s) is. There is not one universal answer. For some I know it was not difficult at all to come out. However, the being intrinsic does not necessarily make it easier to not fear the significant possibility of rejection.
      =
If you are a parent, or consider the possibility of being a parent, can you tell me why so many parents disown their gay children? I was blessed to have known from day one my parents loved me, no matter what, so the "rejection factor" is one for which I seek a greater understanding.

      248

      ENOUGH ALREADY PORKEZ!
MY OPINION DOES NOT TAKE AWAY RIGHTS FROM ANYONE!
PS. YOUR OPINION THAT MY OPINION TAKES AWAY YOUR RIGHTS, IS, IN MY OPINION, A CLOSED-MINDED OPINION.
SO ARE YOU TELLING US THAT IN YOUR OPINION WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE AN OPINION???!!!!

OH YEAH, IN CASE I DIDN'T MENTION IT ALREADY … SHUT THE HELL UP PORKEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    49. 249

Re: shellmarie – Seems to me science will catch up with homosexuality eventually and the factors influencing it will be identified. This will happen later rather than sooner for my taste. It's very safe to say what we do not know vastly out weighs what we do know about our bodies. So, we continue to ask the questions to learn more. Or, we choose to remain uninformed.
      =
As long as history has been recorded homosexuality has existed. No government or religion or other means of social organization, despite brutal attempts by many, have prevented it from happening again and again and again. No culture or community is exempted from it. It is an unavoidable part of the big picture of humanity.

    50. 250

Isn't it strange that when they promote equality, you have "real" people. But when it comes to gay ads for parties, social events, you have the "White Calvin Klein" Models posing. I fucking hate society. GET UR SHIT RIGHT!

You're an idiot who obviously hasn't figured out where his bread is buttered. Get a clue.

    53. 253

Re: Qxicano – OMG! So people who may not believe in gay marriage and all that stuff, are they just supposed to say they aggree with it when they dont?! NO! This crap is getting on my nerves now. People are saying they are ok with gay marriage and stuff just because if they don't agree with it they will get belittled and all that other stuff. People just need to be able to speak their minds and give their opinion without all the backlash. OMFG!

    54. 254

okay, i believe in equal rights, but i believe these posts are getting a little ridiculous.

Perez, you intolerant homo!!! Shame on you! You asked a loaded question and you know it. On the one hand, I praise the girl for not waivering in her beliefs for the sake of winning a crown. On the other hand, WTF are these girls doing parading themselves on these stupid contests? And what rights are you talking about? You don't have that right yet!
I'm a firm believer in EQUALITY, however, I'm also a firm believer in TRUTH. So both of you just GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!

    59. 259

OMFG THE GIRL ON THE BOTTOM IN THE MIDDLE WITH THE LONG HAIR IS THIS GIRL I WENT TO HS WITH. HOLY SHIT. thats blowing my mind right now

    60. 260

That's the thing - they aren't your RIGHTS. You can have a relationship - but you're asking for legal status - and that's the problem, dumb ass.

Guess what..If you ask an unexpectedly controversial question you will get a controversial answer, even if you think you have someone in a televised politically correct corner… Get over it.

    68. 268

ffs perez shes not the fucking president so its her opinion but it doesnt count for anything, it doesnt get in the way of your rights becuase she isnt the one to chose the laws and your not even getting married so why do you care so much !?!?! GET OVER IT

    69. 269

I LOVE HOW MARRIAGE AND EQUALITY MATTER BUT ALL THE COUPLES JUST HAPPEN TO BE THE SAME RACE EXCEPT OF COURSE FOR THE OBLIGATORY BLACK BABY WIT WHITE COUPLE. DISGUSTING!

      Re: I am Perfect!!
      Someone should kick you.

    76. 276

I am a gay, black, American man. I'm not a fan of yours because I'm not that much into celebrity gossip. But good for you if that's how you make your money. I don't hate on anyone's hustle. But please stick to your day job. I have seen you and that dumb ass barbie, Miss California in "mainstream" media. When people ask me about it. I say, "He asked a dumb question, and she gave an even dumber answer." PLEASE! stop trying to be representative of the entire LGBT community. You are not an activist, you are a gossip queen. You, have freedom of speech but choose your words carefully if you do step into the arena of politics. I am going to take this opportunity to teach and reach out to you if you continue this "pseudo-activism". Here's a snippet I have sent to several other high profile members of the media:

The terms "Same-Sex Marriage" and "Gay Marriage" are offensive and divisive. If you would refrain from using those terms in your broadcasts and or writings, I would appreciate it. If you are unable to find appropriate terms to use while discussing this civil rights issue, I have a couple of suggestions. "Marriage Equality" or simply "Equal Rights" are terms that will encourage and allow us to move forward and beyond personal and religious beliefs as Americans and focus on equality for every tax-paying citizen of this great country of ours.

    77. 277

where did the white couples go in this picture? RACIST.

    78. 278

someone has probably spoken to this already but…

The problem with the gay marriage thing is really semantics - The christians want the term marriage to identify a man/women couple - I think that if LGBT community would persue equality in civil union or whatever special prefix-thing without insisting on using the term marriage, It would be alot easier to acheive…and you are after the equal rights and protection right? You are not demanding that christians accept a gay inclusive re-definition of the term marriage..because that will be a much more diffcult battle to win..why stall your aquisition of rights over a dictionary battle..
