SanFran Mayor Announces Race For Cali Governor - Via Twitter!

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom has announced that he is running for governor of California…via Twitter!
Newsom Twittered, "It's official — running for Gov of CA. Wanted you to be the first to know. Need your help."
So far, Newsom is the only official Democratic entrance into the race, and he isn't shying from the "generational and technology-savvy approach" that Barack Obama made work for him.

Let's see: crime is up in San Francisco. The homeless problem is worse than ever (no not people who lost jobs/homes) these are drug addicted bums, slept with his wife's best friend, was either drunk or high during his first term until he got caught, is an Obama wanna-be, his claim to fame is gay marriage, city budgets slashed, brothels in the Sunset district, muni fees going up, care not cash" homeless debacle, beautifying the streets with trees but leaving the potholes intact, best of all "Sanctuary City" for foreign cop. OMG! I can't stand Gavin Newsom. I really can't tell what he does for SF. I mean, I'm really glad that he has done a lot to support SFFD and SFPD, but other than that??? He and his new wife just like being on TV or looking at themselves in the mirror. One more thing, I can't stand his voice. Sounds like he's always about to lose it but not in a cool Bill Clinton way.

We make laws in which the people of the state agree.What goes in Cali doesn't go in Texas. We are all diffrent. I like to think here in Cali ( bay area) we are open minded to all races, genders, sexualities, ideas….
I am PROUD to be from the BAY. I love Gavin and I think he'll do great.To each there own. I would NEVER tell you how to govern your state.

I'm a liberal who lives in SF and I HATE Gavin Newsom (or Gavin Newscum as us SF'ers like to call him). In fact he's not really popular here at all. Once his dirty laundry get aired out he won't have the slightest chance of being nominated as the Democratic candidate. Other than the fact that he openly supported gay marriage (I voted no on
, there's not a whole lot of good he's done in this city. He's too busy parading around CA promoting his political aspirations to be bothered fixing SF's many looming issues. He's more concerned about the banning of foie gras in SF or hiring round the clock security to protect his garden in front of city hall from bums peeing/$h!tting in it than addressing our city's problems. We have a $500 million budget deficit next fiscal year… amazing when you think that we're only a city of 800k people and have a yearly budget of $6 billion (the largest per capita budget of any city in the US). SF has a big homeless problem (drugs, violence, etc)… yet we spend the most money on homeless per capita ($300 million/yr). Crime is rising, city services are declining and unreliable, SF residences paying increase fees on everything despite declining services. If that doesn't convince you of how inept he is… his character will convince you that he's a slime ball. He cheated on his first wife by f**king his best friend/campaign manager's wife. Real class act.

Just what the state needs, another fiscally irresponsible, open borders whack job! Newsom is to be commended for his stance on marriage rights for gay and lesbian people, but everything else about this guy screams tax and spend, sanctuary for illegal gangbangers and driving more businesses out of California.

I'm a San Francisco Bay Area resident. I would NOT vote for him for Governor. I'd have to agree that he would run this state to the ground.
First of all… Gavin Newsom is not gay, he's actually a total stud if you have ever seen any of the women he dates
Second of all.. California needs a governor who can move forward and support gay marriage! Prop 8 is bull and needs to be done away with
Third of all.. Newsom has great stands on many other issues besides marriage and would make a much better governor than Arnold or Gray Davis were

I just went to San Francisco 3 months ago and I was impressed ,it was all cafes,all nice hotels.nice architecture ,nowhere felt scummy,all the people were well dressed,sort of in a boheimian chic way sort of like Seattle. The city was thriving and I thought wow,most people havent been to this incredible city. Lets hope Gavin Newsom is our next Gov.
