Fox Decides Not To Air Obama

On Wednesday, President Barack Obama will address the nation with a 100-day news conference. For the event, Obama requested airtime from all the major networks.

And while ABC, CBS, and NBC will broadcast the conference, Fox has declined.

According to a statement from Fox, "The Fox Broadcasting Company will not air the Presidential News Conference on Wednesday, April 29 at 8:00 PM (ET). Fox's sister networks, Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network, will air the press conference in its entirety. Fox will be alerting viewers with an onscreen graphic at the top of the 8:00 PM (ET) hour that the press conference is available on Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network."

Naw, it's not just because it's the right wing conservative network - Fox has refused airtime to other administrations of either party.

Such telecasts cost networks a bunch of money in advertising, and Fox scored excellent ratings in the desired time slot last week, so they don't seem to want to give it up this week.

The fact that there's a live American Idol results show at 9 p.m. on Fox might also explain their decision.

Just maybe.

So far, "evening newscasts have covered Obama more than both Pres. George W. Bush and Bill Clinton during the first 50 days of their first terms — combined."

No pressure!

Good. I'm fucking sick of seeing him on tv every other day with some bullshit that he has to spew. He's just going to more bullshit to say, same as every other time.

    2. 102

Good, I don't understand why those press conferences have to be on every. single. network.

    3. 103

fox news is going to get shit for not airing obama's speech, but no other networks get blasted for not having coverage over any tax day tea parties? thousands of people in cities all across the country were out and the best all the other networks could do was have someone talk about how people were "teabagging"? and fox is the bad guy for being so "conservative"?

    4. 104

so that is what i will be watching on wednesday night- along with millions of others, just like every day . . .

    5. 105

good job fox. we dont need to negro propaganda!!!!!!!!!!!!

    6. 106

I ALWAYS watch Lie To Me. It's one of the best shows I've ever seen. I certainly don't need to watch Obama, I've already mastered the fact that every word that comes out of his mouth is a lie. Hell, half the time he doesn't even have a clue what he just said, so how could it be the truth? I'm way beyond telling how Obama is lying. I'm for developing some skills to recognize when I see a more skillful and talented liar.

    7. 107

      blah, blah, blah psk, harump!

    8. 108

Who wants to hear Obama pat himself on the back for not doing much so far?

    9. 109

Good for them. Glad to see not every branch of the media is dying to blow the boob.

    10. 110

Who cares? The other "All Maobama all the time" networks will cover his double speaking spiel. And Fox News is still trouncing the competition in the ratings and that's even with all the other network's kiss ass coverage of the teleprompter in chief.

    11. 111

OF THE TOP 10 CABLE NEWS PROGRAMS, FOX NEWS HAS NINE.
      thats right, 9 of 10 . . .

    12. 112

Good, maybe people will start to see FOX for the joke that it is. A NEWS STATION WON'T RUN THE PRESIDENT OF THE USA. You've got to be kidding me.

    13. 113

As if he had anything to say but soap bubbles

    14. 114

I don't hate Obama, but I have to admit, this guy appears on TV almost every month. Enough is enough. His appearance on TV is not going to heal the economy or provide more jobs. Please, it's enough already.

Re: hotlude79 – Typical, misinformed liberal - blindly following other misinformed libs because they are too lazy to take a minute to do a little research and make an informed decision on their own. Let me help you out: People that watch FOX NEWS will see yet another episode of "The Messiah" patting himself on the back, because FOX NEWS IS CARRYING THE PRESS CONFERENCE, just like ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC! Fox Broadcasting Company (the network that shows "American Idol", "24", etc.) is NOT showing it, probably because their news channel, FOX NEWS, is running it. And while Fox News commentaries DO tend to lean right, so what? Like all of the major networks, CNN and MSNBC don't lean left? And Fox News usually DOES try to present both sides of an issue. If you would watch them for a few days, you would see that they have a whole lot more liberals on than the mainstream media has conservatives giving their point of view. The left is all about free speech until someone tries to present an idea that they disagree with, then the left wants to shut them down! Did you complain when the major networks refused to show Bush's press conferences? I doubt it. Why do you care anyway? It's not like you are actually going to watch it. If you are like most liberals, you probably get your news from The Daily Show or MTV.

    18. 118

Perez, I really cannot grasp why you are not a Republican. Obama does not support equal rights for gays, and under his federal dictatorship you will not see a bill like this passed. You really should support some more conservatives, who support more local authority, states rights, smaller government. It is going to be the states themselves that pass gay marriage laws…look at Iowa. If Obama stays in power, the states' authorities will continue to diminish as well as the hope for equal rights for EVERYONE.

    19. 119

Good I tried of Hearing him talk already.. what has he really done in the last 100 days! aren't people still losing their jobs? Aren't people still scared to spend money? lol and explain to me why In February of 2009, all 50, 70, 80, 90 and 100cc dirt bike sales were banned in the United States. The reason for the ban was that some of the parts contained lead, and since the majority of riders for those bikes are children they were outlawed. My question is how many children were eating their motorcycle parts? lol just goes to show he doesn't know what he's doing!

Re: QueenOfTrashin – don' t look and you won't see…duh!!!

    23. 123

All media is biased to cater to their viewer. You just point to Fox because you are extremely liberal. CNN, CBS, NBC, etc all do it too. A good example…..the government approved a photo op of one of their planes to fly over lower Manhattan yesterday with a fighter jet behind it. An incredibly stupid and insensitive decision that caused panic, and it was barely mentioned in the media today. If a republican had been at the helm you bet the CNN, NBC, etc. would have made sure he was "flogged in the town square".

    24. 124

Re: COCACOLA – I'm sure Palin would have been a better choice for some idiots.

Thank God! at least I'll have something to watch beside Larry's lies!!!

    30. 130

Re: gimlet123 – you are so right!!!! if a Republican had done that ir would be wall to wall coverage for 17 days!!!!

    34. 134

Well, it certainly is good that Fox news has their priorities in order. Fox is the the most insanely bias station ever.

    35. 135

Perez, when are you going to start "outing" the president? You claim that everyone else is gay - how about the obvious fem behavior he demonstrates? OBAMA IS AN ASSHOLE. He said he'd bring change - he just neglected to tell us it was negative change. IMPEACH OBAMA!!!!!

    36. 136

Re: loxBrandiexol – oh loxBrandiexol you are wrong he has done a lot in 100 days! he has cozied up to every left wing despot in Latin America, has given mea cupals to Iran and Europe for being you know like "American" which like totally means "ignorant" to crazy ass lefties / marxist like Larry & Co. so that's plenty in 100 days!!! LMAO!

    37. 137

LOL….Way to Go FOX! Money talks BS Walks…me luvs it

    38. 138

      Re: spunk ransom wife – uhhhh…it's gonna be Obama 10, 11 & 12 too dumbass…LOL

    39. 139

      NEXT…

    40. 140

THANK GOD! Now I can watch LIE TO ME instead of actually watching Obama LIE TO ME! Why the fuck does he need to be on ALL THOSE NETWORKS? I can just CHANGE THE FUCKING CHANNEL TO ONE OF THE OTHER MILLIONS of channels he will be on. God people need to get their panties out of that bunch.

    41. 141

Re: flitey333 – What facts do you have to back up your statement? Fact is, Fox - while certainly not perfect - does a MUCH better job of presenting BOTH SIDES of an argument than anyone in the mainstream media. If you would watch them for a couple of days, you will see a whole lot more liberals giving their viewpoints than you will see conservatives on CNN & MSNBC. That's probably why Fox News is KICKING CNN and MSNBC's BUTTS in the ratings - they present both sides instead of just one side's spin. Anyone that watches Fox knows that their commentators will RIP into a republican if they feel the republican is wrong (Bush caught HELL from Hannity and O'Reilly on the Dubai port deal and the Mexican border fiasco). No, the TRUTH of the matter is liberals not only don't want to hear a viewpoint other than their own, but also don't want ANYONE ELSE to hear it either - hence, the "Fairness Doctrine". Fox is running Obama's presser. They are letting viewers reach their OWN conclusions. What did CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the mainstream media do with several of Bush's press conferences? They didn't run them AT ALL! Who is more more biased, a network that presents both sides and lets the viewers make their own decisions, or networks that refuse to air viewpoints that don't support their own liberal agenda?

    42. 142

Good. At least there might be something to watch on television besides Obama trying to get everyone to drink the Kool-aid.

Stop the spending. Stop the taxing. Enough is enough, dude.

    43. 143

Kudos to Fox - I wish this dirt bag would just shut the fuck up and go away!!!!

    44. 144

Bravo to Fox! Why do we need to watch yet ANOTHER scripted teleprompter screed? Can Messiah Hussein EVER say something original and off the cuff? Besides that, the first 100 days of the Messiahs office has been filled with blunders, bloopers and ourtight lies by an inept unqualifed adminstration.

    45. 145

I'll gladly watch Lie To Me over this dictator any day!

    46. CaraC says – reply to this

      146

We have seen enough of Obama reading his teleprompter.
      .
Why bother watching the Obama speeches? What Obama SAYS has very little relationship to what he DOES.

    47. 147

Thank God. Obama is full of crap anyways, and I know there is a majority out there who would rather hear Adam Lambert than the hot air BS coming out of Obama's mouth.

Plus..I mean it is being aired on all the other stations. Do all the ridiculous liberals out there need another station to listen to their "oh holy one.?"

    48. 148

… uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, oh yeah, I already said that, uh well…………………. uh just move that up a little, uh, uh… What a fuckhead. It could be a laugh if his technology gives out.

    49. 149

Good he is going to tell everyone the Gays SHOULD NOT GET MARRIED!

    50. 150

Well, fox is more of a republican/conservative favoring news channel, whereas cnn is more of a democrat/liberal favoring news channel

    51. 151

Re: spunk ransom wife – At least rednecks can form sentences. What you said made absolutely no sense whatsoever. You fail at life. Please try again.

    52. 152

Good for Fox. I'm so sick of seeing him on TV all the time. Why doesn't he actually do something positive for our nation. I mean, he promised "change" but the only change I've seen is his ass on my tv all the damn time!

    53. 153

I don't agree with most of the things Perez says and does, bit he is right on with this one. Such blatant form of racism.
