  2. 2

    :)

  3. 3

uuuuuuuummmm its no where as goos as Dolly's and NOOOO way as good as Whitneys version

  4. 4

    DOLLY can do no wrong!

  5. 5

Re: grad98tnRe: JizzyBall – YEAH WHITNEY'S IS THE BEST…A TRUE CLASSIC…I DONT THINK THAT IN A MILLIONS YEARS ANYONE WILL BE ABLE TO OUT DO WHITNEY'S VERSION…

  9. 9

    Thats horrible

  10. 10

It didn't sound as good without the sound of a torch keeping Whitney's crackpipe warm in the background.

  11. 11

As a die hard Dolly fan, that version sucked balls. Even Whitney's was better….and she destroyed the song.

Re: UrMajestyMsG – Have ya ever been to DollyWood????

  14. 14

Anybody who is promoting Lady GaGag and Katy Pervy is tone def and shouldn't stay out of the music business. Dolly is a very good song writer, but the song was meant for Whitney Houston to sing, no ifs ands or buts Fat Mario.

  15. 15

This was unnecessary and too long winded. We have Dolly's original and Whitney's remake. That's enuf.

  16. 16

    Absolutely ghastly!

  17. 17

Re: Long Dong Connery – NO…ID GO THO…SEEMS LIKE A PIECE OF NOSTOLGIA THAT ALL DOLLY FANS SHOULD DO AT LEAST ONCE. LIKE GRACELAND AND ELVIS, I MEAN THE KING..LOL

  18. 18

Sounds like someone in their bedroom recording this. And as they say on IDOL all the time, "Don't record something if you can't do it bigger or better than the person(s) who did it before." This happens to be a classic by both Whitney and Dolly and this woman makes a wholly unimpressive version of it.

  19. 19

awww the melodies where so pretty. i like this version. and dolly gives it the perfect touch!

  20. 20

I love it! harmonize ladies, do it!

  21. 21

Classic love song that is still as beautiful as ever.

  22. 22

I really liked it, but Whitney's is better!

  23. 23

She didn't "rework" it as a duet… If I remember correctly, Dolly already recorded it as a duet with Vince Gill.

  24. 24

    So-so. Whitney's version wins.

That hella SUCKED!!!!! Are you people tone Deaf????!!!!! WTF????

  26. 26

don't know if it's just the sound of Dolly's voice or what, but this gave me goosebumps! Luvs!

  27. 27

Eww Dolly is fucking trash trash trash

  28. 28

    Whitney did it much better.

  29. 29

omg horrible! they sound like two lesbians in heat…..simon would definitely say it was "PATHETIC"!!!!

  30. 30

erm….that song should be sung by a soprano…That woman is an alto, who doesn't have the pipes to hit the right notes.

  31. 31

that was amazing!!!!!! it left me in tears

  32. 32

I have seen 2 shows with Stephanie in them (Pirate Queen and Wicked) and she has one of the sweetest voices I have ever heard (the kind that gives you goosebumps). The recording doesn't do her justice…if you have a chance to see her live, DO IT!

I think they sounded amazing as a duet, but I would expect nothing less from those 2…

  33. 33

    Re: tayspita02
Do your homework, Stephanie IS a soprano.

  34. 34

Whoever said that Stephanie J. Block is an alto is an idiot. She is a mezzo-soprano with a three-octave range and has a belt that shakes the rafters. Just because she chose not to go all bombastic on the song doesn't mean she can't sing that way.

I love me the Whitney version too, but I would dare say I like this one more because it is emotional, understated and beautifully controlled. It doesn't make one version better, just different. It's called an INTERPRETATION. Whether you like it is a different story. But I don't expect most people on here to get far with that concept or appreciate this kind of voice…

I love it. Gorgeous job, ladies!

  35. 35

    WHY?

  36. 36

Yuck. What's with all the breathy vocals? Perez, that was baaaaaaaaaaaad. And by the way, Miss Block is a beast. Physically… and as a person.

  37. 37

It would take more than 2 women to sound better than one Whitney.

    It wasn't horrible but it's Whitney's masterpiece.

Nobody else should touch the song.

Sorry, Dolly…we all know that you wrote it. Just be glad that Whitney graced the song with her vocals.

  38. 38

I heart stephanie j. block. Bitch is fierce! It's sad that people are so jaded by American Idol and the ever growing list of Christina Aguiera type singers that they cant appreciate a simple beautiful melody with nice harmonizations. This is a really beautiful version. Sad sad. I hate this society.

  39. 39

love Dolly - but that was super lame. LAME LAME LAME LAME.

  40. 40

This is FABULOUS. Stephanie J. Block is AMAZING! and Dolly too!! thanks for posting Perez!

  41. 41

    absolutely loved it!!!

  42. 42

    Def got the chill factor.

  43. 43

my ears!!!!!!! sweet jesus my ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a load of crap

  44. 44

This is incredible. They arranged the song to be like a lullaby, not a big, belt-your-face-off Whitney version. I think they accomplished that, and it really is beautiful. Stephanie is amazing. And if you think she can't sing, you should go see her live. That should change your mind rather quickly.
