| Filed under: Legal MattersZ List

Actor Lane Garrison is a free man as of today, Wednesday.

The former Prison Break star was released early this morning from the California Correctional Institute in rural Tehachapi, about 3 hours outside of LA. He was greeted by friends and family and according to a source, "He's done his time and now he's looking forward to trying to move on with his life."

In order to shorten his probation, however, Lane must check into rehab.

Lane was sentenced back in November 2007 after pleading guilty to killing a 17-year-old boy and injuring a 15-year-old girl when he crashed his car with cocaine and twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

He received 40 months in prison, but got his time reduced for good behavior and participating in a peer inmate mentoring program.

Last week he agreed to a financial settlement with the victims and family members of the terrible incident.

Next time, just call a cab!

He's following in Matthew Broderick's footsteps!
Drink, drive, kill some people, be famous…… No consequences!

  6. 6

Talk about injustice! The murdering piece of shit should have got life.

  7. 7

WHAT the FUCK was this dude doing with a 17 year old and a 15 year old? Giving them cocaine and alcohol?? Fuck head!! He should have faced life in prison! Whyyyyy does this shit happen?

Do you guys know he moved in with Joe Simpson when he was 17? Yes Jessica + Ashley Simpson's dad. :o

stop the holier than thou attitude you prick. Yes, what he did was wrong, very wrong. BUT, how many people could have been in his place? How many 'celebrities' have been arrested for dui? how many 'celebrities' have gotten AWAY with dui????? PARIS is very lucky she has not killed anyone. So many others. How many of your posters have not driven while under the influence? When I was younger, I did, I do not anymore, but, yes, that could have been me, years ago

Re: justtfax – This guys isn't young, he was born in 1980!!!

  10. 10

HE SERVED HIS TIME PEREZ. YES, HE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE & IT'S OBVIOUS HE'S REMORSFUL. I'M SURE HE'S LEARNED SOME HUGE LIFE LESSONS THE HARD WAY HERE.

  11. 11

Re: justtfax – Quit trying to justify what he did just because others have done it! He and others don't have to stop drinking, or anything else! Just stay home, or get some friends to drive. So many other choices could have been made……

  12. 12

    oooooooooooooo

  13. 13

i feel bad for the family…but i'm glad he's out. he seemed truly remorseful.

Didnt the 17 year old and 15 year old PARENTS teach their kids not to get into a car with someone who consumed Alchol or was under the influence Obviously not. When I was 15 years old there is NO way I would have got into a car with someone who consumed Alchol. WHERE were the PARENTS ?????

  15. 15

Wow, I'm am sure he will never be the same after coming out of Tehachapi, it's no Camp Snoopy!

  16. 16

    Hi Perez.

I'm just wondering why you aren't so harsh on Brandy who killed a woman while she was talking on her stupid cell phone. Apparently she was more interested in her conversation than watching and following road rules. I'm not saying that Mr. Garrison shouldn't be reminded of his actions BUT I want to remind you of all the people who have driven drunk and are lucky that no one was killed. You don't shit on them for DUI's and say "well they didn't kill anyone" but they could have….

  17. 17

how fucking disgusting. i don't understand our judicial system in the US. if i or any other person who posts here were to kill a child (because a 17 year old is a child in my eyes, i'm old lol) and critically killing another teen in a car wreck, our punishment would have been A LOT worse

  18. 18

I live in Tehachapi..had no clue he was here, but I think that he probably feels terrible for what happened.

  19. 19

    you so would mario

  20. 20

What happpened was tragic, but he in no way fits the monikor of Murderer . . .
Get off your high horse mario you above all have no reason to point fingers at anyone
    You are an ass

  21. 21

you gotta love that good old California justice–celebrities just don't do real time there…

  22. 22

    Re: Jaelynn – My arse!!

  23. 23

Re: Jaelynn – yes he may have learned his lessor the hard way. . . . but at my friends expense. Because this is so close to home i could never be happy with him getting out of prison. He doesnt deserve it. my friend lost his life because of this mistake. . . he should serve more time but unfortunately that celebrities are above the law although he is hardly famous. In fact hes famous for killing someone and thats about it. disgusting

  24. 24

so many people are saying, "well he seems very remorseful". . . give me a break. hes an actor aka he pretends and lies for a fricken living. of course hes gonna act remorseful, if he doesnt he has no hope of every getting his life back.

  25. 25

    now p-rizzles, he's served his time…for his crime….now he'll be out a dime…this is a shitty rhymn

  26. 26

omg this sickens me. Im tired of celebrities (or in this case just a well known person) get out of jail within months( or weeks, or days, or HOURS) for committing a serious crime like fucking DWI cause you know if one of us blue collar mother fuckers killed someone while drunk we'd go to jail for a ass long time

  27. 27

Yes Perez, he should call a cab. I'm sure he's learned his lesson.
So many people get away with this, but he actually got caught and i am sure he feels horrible enough. I don't even know who this man is, but I wish him and his family well. Stay sober and move on =)

  28. 28

Perez, he's not a murderer, he didn't set out to kill anyone; if you have to be judgmental, just label him a killer.

  29. 29

i feel sorry for the families lives he's ruined

    i also feel for him
one very big stupid mistake and he's ruined his whole life
    very sad

euh, he did his time.. now it's over. get over it already.. that is how the system works.

  31. 31

I wonder if his butt-hole is nice and opened up, soft and tender, easy to slide into.

  32. 32

This amazes me. WHY celebrities dont get same jail time than normal civilians? God bless America.

He is definitely a "new man" after that experience..especially with his pretty boy looks.
