American Idol's Allison Iraheta "Secret" Past!
As the seasons of American Idol continue to be pumped out, the legitimacy of the contestants has gone from believable to practically non-existent!!
As it turns out, American Idol contestant Allison Iraheta is no stranger to the world of televised singing competitions!
According to reports, back in 2007, Iraheta was the winner of Telemundo's Quinceañera: Mama Quiero Ser Artista (Sweet Fifteen: Mom, I Want to be an Artist)!!!
The judges on Quinceañera were reportedly head over heels for Allison's singing and Iraheta ended up nabbing the $50,000 cash prize and a recording contract.
Although Iraheta is not currently under a recording contract (which would disqualify her from American Idol), it's more than shady that Idol producers would usher in the winner of an AI copycat competition!
Could Iraheta be a plant hand-picked by producers????

I think it is pretty clear that she was not hand picked and is not a plant! If so, why has she constantly been in the bottom 3 and received hardly any praise that she should have? The fact that she has made top 4 is unbelievable! Her voice is enough of a reason for her to be on the show, she didn't need to be "planted" there.

All "reality" shows are manipulated by the producers and are, at least partially, scripted. Remember, it's TV - - all about ratings and earnings.
You have some facts wrong - she did win the competition and the prize was supposed to be a recording contract, but she was never given it (and actually materials from the show were seized).

That's nothing compared to Adam's experience, or even Archuleta last year and other contestants.
Last year David Cook was the only one in the top 8 who was not a plant and didn't have industry connections, and he ended up winning. So it doesn't matter what you won before or who you met before, but what you do in that stage.

Perez, I don't see some conspiracy or that she's a "plant." She probably did figure out how to get picked to be in the top 12 or whatev. With some help. You can tell by the way she handles the mic that she knows how to project and phrase. All the contestants have some experience. It varies. Some have more then others. I want Adam to win. I love him. All the rest is karaoke.

alot of the singers have done things bordering on professionalism, it depends what they are going NOW. obviously this contest was small and did not pan out. and fox knew about it.

I love Allison. Poor girl doesn't get much respect from the judges. They diss her "personality" but I think she's adorable. Plus, that girl can SING! And she's barely 17 - she doesn't have the ten extra years of performing that Gokey has.
I think it's OK, just like it's OK that Adam is a professional musical theatre actor. Danny and Kris have been performing for years, but they would be classified as definitely non-professional performers. About Allison, by the way … she is destined to have a short career unless she starts to practice "safe singing". She is a prime candidate for vocal nodules, and I know what I am talking about but I won't tell you why. The problem with children in these competitions is that they lack the maturity to deal with the seamier aspects of this business. They also tend to be the breadwinners for adults who should be winning their own bread. I worry for her. She'd be much more ready at 21.

I got totally disillusioned with AI after seeing the judges pimp out Fantasia. I sometimes watch now but it's all so obviously rigged that there's no fun in it anymore. I agree with others who have said that AI probably only has one more season left. Even Simon has said he's tired of the show.

Being in wicked is A LOT better training than whatever lesser competition she won. People do tend to move up in competitions going from smaller to larger.

A lot of Idol fans already knew about Allison being on another show. However, she never accepted the record contract that she won and never officially released any music prior to Idol.
I don't care. She deserves this regardless of some telemundo thing. I hope she at least makes it to the final 2, but I don't think the AI viewers are the type to vote for a young girl— the audience looks like a bunch of tweens who are ga-ga for boys. Allison should be top two, but she'll have a hard time getting there. I'm not surprised that Perez posse is trying to take her down so that it'll be all boys left…

It's painful for me to watch her some nights. I can only imagine how her throat must feel after all that hollering. She sounds good, but also like she's straining her chords. I think she defintely needs more experience and has a bit of growing up to do before she's ready for the big, big time.

If anything, I would probably buy an album from Allison first..or any of the remaining singers, before Adam's who I see more as a theater performer. I think that Allison is the 2nd best singer on the show(next to Adam) and that she has every right to be on the show. The final 4 are all very talented, which is a nice change for Idol..so good for her!
This was never a secret. There was old footage from that show on Youtube before she was even cast on Idol. Winning a prize on a foreign show doesn't make her a plant.

And i don't think she was "picked". I think she's still on the show because she has shown week after week that she can sing and that she deserves to be there. On the show, she is matured beyond her years vocally and I think you should support that instead of trying to make her look bad.
