She stood up for what she believed in!!!! she didn't care about the crown at that moment. She is a role model for people! I believe that gay people and lesbians should be able to get married….When i first found out that Carrie would be at church i was saying " O, great I dont care about her, why do i care about what she says, I hate her b/c she is agianst gay marriage!       She does have the right to her own opinion. The problem is that when she got the crown to be Miss California, it wasn't het opinion anymore but the opinion of California. That is what perez is trying to make clear. SHe had the right to do and think what ever she wants, just not with that crown on her head.       I live in a country where gay's have same rights and can get married and I honestly don;t get why you make it such a big deal. DOesn't your law states that all men are created equally.       The constitution dictates that the Government "shall make NO LAW" concerning matters of faith. If the christian church decides that marriage is between a man and a woman, then the Goverment must honor that.

      Now, if the municipality or state goverment want to make a "legal institution", like civil union…then they can. They cannot, however, call it marriage. Marriage, by definition, is a God given sacrement that celebrates the union of a man and a woman. The children they concieve are the fruit of this union.

      I won't tell people whom they should love or live with. I will, however, protect the sanctity of God's religious ceremonies.

      Consider…a church marriage is not only about the union of two people, it's about the union of a man and a woman IN OBEDIENCE TO THE GOD OF THE BIBLE. If a gay couple can earnestly say that they are spiritualy (not legaly..spiritualy) entitled to that ceremony, then they need the bible's support. I'm sorry, but it's not supported by the word of God. If you want a certificate that grants you tax relief and legal recognition of your union, do it through the state. Keep it out of God's house.
