Are tax payers STILL spending money on this?
On Monday, the Supreme Court ordered a federal appeals court to re-examine its ruling, in favor of CBS, over the whole "wardrobe malfunction" incident from back in 2004 during Super Bowl with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake.
Who knew a nipple could cause years of legal battles?
As we mentioned last year, the decision was put up to the Supreme Court, but they've just directed it to the Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia in order to consider reinstating the $550,000 fine that the FCC had originally place.
And, according to a statement by CBS, the network is not surprised by the decision and believes they won't be found at fault for the incident since they "could not have been anticipated" the nipple slip.
Sounds like a lot of back and forth going on here.

Mistake or not, it's a sad statement as to our country's rediculousness and obsession with the legal system that a nipple is in court for years. This opens up a broader issue, the hypocrisy of the public and media. A breast is a breast. Babies see them, we all see them. Big deal, let's grow a pair. That some morons sued the station for emotional distress is hilarious when taking into account that the very same networks never get complaints when people are shot and maimed on television several times all day. Apparently murder is fine, but if a woman bears a breast, someone is traumatized. What a sick society we live in, and shame on the people who made this an issue when it wasn't. Those prudish people need to take a look in the mirror. Why can a man bear nipple in public and a woman can't? It was a split second, no human being on this earth could be honestly traumatized by that. The case should have been thrown out on the spot or not even looked at, and now people are talking six figures over a mammary. Give me a damn break. And a brilliant entertainer's career is in the toilet because people were so immature about it. It is very possible that CBS knew about what was going to take place to begin with regarding they're performance that night. It is not that serious but if Janet is the one who has to pay in the end, it will be no problem for her to pay that amount of money. This is stupid. And Janet didn't loose fans over this, if she lost fans over this dumb incident, then those weren't really her true fans to begin with. And I don't think this incident did anything to her career.
