Jenny McCarthy Lands A Deal With The Big O!

Filed under: TV News > Jenny McCarthy > Oprah Winfrey

oprahjenny.jpg

Oprah has deemed Jenny McCarthy her latest Harpo offspring!

The Big O has handed McCarthy a multi-platform development deal with her production company, Harpo Productions.

It doesn't get any better than a blessing from Momma Oprah!

The deal will include a syndicated talk show hosted by the former Singled Out host, who is now known for her activism in the fight to cure autism.

McCarthy has penned two best-selling books, Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism and Mother Warriors: A Nation of Parents Healing Autism Against All Odds, both of which Oprah has been an avid promoter of.

Oh, and she's also banging Jim Carrey, duh.

Congrats!

I love Jenny McCarthy. She is so sharp, honest, intelligent, hysterically funny and gorgeous at the same time! And she has a heart of gold. She and Jim have earned every ounce of their success and I am so happy for them.

Cool, J. Mac is pretty cool.

  3. 3

    yay

  4. 4

Oh, god, no, Oprah, no! First you unleash pseudo-shrink Dr. Phil on the world, and now another pseudo-scientist who does more harm than good. I feel bad for my autistic son and all the parents of autistic children everywhere. She is an ADVOCATE OF UNPROVEN PHONY BALONEY "CURE" SH*T.

  5. 5

    Autism Sucks………….. :o )

Re: Timmy – I think ill puke now thanks…

to sweetiebird, how is advocating changing to a healthy diet and using natural supplements "harming" anyone? That is what Jenny speaks about. And she is NOT anti-vaccine - she merely advocates parents spreading out the shots so not such a heavy burden on a developing body at once and also taking the SHIT toxins (think aluminum, anti-freeze, formaldahyde, ect., ect) out of the vaccines. If you ask for a vaccine package insert from your ped. Dr. those are just some of the ingredients you'll find in vaccines. I know this because I have. Have you even read her book? As a parent of a child with autism I have and would think you would want to also. Again, she is NOT advocating anti-vacination and never has. She has never claimed to be a scientist or medical professional, just a mom who saw her son regress into autism and found a natural way to heal him. Notice I did not say cure? Neither does Jenny. What an insult to compare Jenny to "DR." Phil who is just in it for the money and the cult of celebrity (witness the Britney Spears fiasco, among others).

It couldn't have happened to a better, or more deserving gal! I'd want her on my team, no matter WHAT the issue. And Jim knows how lucky he is to have her. Just swell!

  11. 11

A friend of mine with an autistic child is reading her books and finds them extremely helpful. Jenny should be commended for focusing on her kid and trying to help him–even if you disagree with her–at least she's raising and caring for her own!!

  12. 12

    where's my post Mario?

  13. 13

Bravo for Jenny. She's come a long way since her bimbo image. Great haircut, cool looking, smart/knowledgeable…she deserves all the great things that come her way.

    Re: sweetiebird
    I agree with you!
On top of that, she is obnoxious as hell and thinks the louder she screams the truer he quack theories become!

  15. 15

great….an annoying chic from Playboy giving medical advice

  16. 16

Re: UrMajestyMsG – Hey Hottie…What up????

  17. 17

You cannot "cure" autism. I'm sure her son was low on the spectrum, the severely autistic children I know, cannot speak at all, are in nappies - I'd like to see Jenny cure them.

  18. 18

A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G……. Hey Oprah.. stop it already!! Just like no one cares about Dr. Phil or Rachael Ray, no one wants to hear Jenny O, I cured autism and I am wonderful either every effin day! NO ONE CARES

  19. 19

There's no such thing as "healing" autism, it is a lifetime condition. There are therapies and interventions, but when Jenny said her son was "cured," I recognized it as a deception.

I know of whence I speak. My beautiful son is autistic.

I wonder why O is promoting McCarthy and not Holly Robinson Peete or Toni Braxton, who also have autistic children.

  20. 20

Oprah makes her money off of gullible white women. Jenny makes her book sales off of women searching desperately for answers as to why their children are autistic. Vaccines do not cause autism. Autism is a spectrum of brain disorders. If you want to BLAME something, blame bringing tiny infants with rapidly developing brains into noisy and disorienting environments. Even a mother cat knows not to bring her kittens out until they are ready. But you see tiny babies in football stadiums, movie theaters, loud restaurants at a point when their brains are still wiring their sensory perceptions. They are dumped into strollers and ignored while their mothers shop. They are strolled at street level where carbon monoxide levels are highest. No one protects their infants any more. It is too inconvenient for them. So who knows what is causing autism? No one. But Dr McCarthy has set herself up as the authority. Well, whatever gives people someone to blame.

  21. 21

She deserves it. Good for Jenny! For a girl that started out in Playboy, she has come far. I like her. She has a great since of humor.

  22. 22

Re: mom2boys – "What an insult to compare Jenny to "DR." Phil who is just in it for the money and the cult of celebrity" Now that made me laugh!

  23. 23

    Good for Jenny!!

  24. kacky says – reply to this

    24

Yeah right, first she invented autism, then she cured it. She just another stupid, narcissistic loser who get WAY too much attention.

    25

Oprah & Dr Phil - Oprah & Dr Jenny - who cares if they're all FAKES as long the ratings are good

  26. 26

I love Jenny and am very happy for her. Loved her since Singled Out. I think she's funny and a good person.

  27. 27

As a behavioral therapist for children with developmental disabilities as well as autism i understand the challenge that Jenny McCarthy has gone through. That being said, autism cannot be "cured' or "healed" and mothers of the autistic children i administer therapy to who have read her books have the wrong idea about how to help an autistic child. Early, intensive therapy is the only PROVEN (yes, with data) intervention that can help. Not heal, help.

  28. 28

This is scary. Scarier than Rachael Ray's having a show about "cooking." Jenny McCarthy doesn't know jack shit about autism. I would not take medical advice from a Playboy centerfold or her idiot boyfriend.

  29. 29

Jenny McCarthy is full of SHIT!!! Her son never HAD autism - that's how she "CURED" him!! MY son is autistic and it makes me SICK that this person is being listened to by so many people. Autistic children DO NOT NEED TO BE HEALED. They need to be understood and given the tools that will help them navigate their unique lives. Screw fixing him - my son is just fine the way he is and FUCK YOU JENNY! FUCK YOU OPRAH! God is Oprah turning into a celeb ass licker or WHAT??? FUCK YOU ALL!!!

  30. 30

    Re: sweetiebird – why?

  31. 31

mccarthy has authored more books than those two, fyi— a couple more lighthearted pregnancy/motherhood books. she's funny in them. you hear her voice.

  32. 32

Well who are YOU banging Perez? Your right hand? Pansy.

  33. 33

My son has recovered from severe autism using the same biomedical interventions that Jenny now publicizes. And so have hundreds of other children. He is now talking, interacting . . . placed in a typical elementary school classroom with no supports . . . Before? He lost ability to speak, desire to interact or make eye contact, etc. after his childhood vaccines. I feel sorry for the autistic children of parents who don't bother to stay openminded. www.fourteenstudies.org
