:D Gotta love us Montrealers! This is just the start! Everyone needs to understand that gays didnt choose to live their life like that. Its just who they are and if everyone could just accept it there would be alot less violence in the world. Accepting differences in people and cultures is the first step to actually achieving peace I just wish it would happen in our lifetime but unfortunately there are a lot of ignorant people out there who need to open their eyes. EQUALITY FOR ALL!!

It certainly is a surprise that Quebec is doing something cool. As a Canadian, this should make me proud, but I don't really identify with Quebec (so I don't feel pride). Hopefully the rest of Canada will follow suit.

LOL so far 2 people have made a distinction between Canada and Quebec. Divisive assholes!!!! My Canada includes Quebec. This is a good step but it makes me no more proud to be Canadian than I was yesterday. I'm happy to be Canadian everyday!!!!

What I do not love is when people accuse us of slaughtering seals, considering I can say with 100% confidence I have never done so, and is ignorant to say "Canadians" do because noone I know would ever, and those that do is their livelyhood, but back to the gay rights stuff, right on!

FIRST POST IN MY LIFE!!! Hu Hum… Just here to say that I’m so proud to be a Quebeckers (AND A Montrealers). This decision that have been made today clearly demonstrates that WE, as a specific nation made social orientations, choices and decisions that reflects our beliefs regarding the rights of all citizens, of all Man, to be free, to be respected, to be equalled. In our small country, we like to believe every body have the opportunity (not always easy, I’m not saying that) to be accomplished and have the same chance as everyone, rich or poor, black or white, gay or not… I don’t want to pretend all is done and perfect, but this decision perfectly traduces this determination that we have to achieve this ideal. And I’m particularly proud of it today. (:-p) I’m totally not lesbian (should I try??) but today I’m happy for the Community and I “salute” the bordness of our leaders. I repeat: EQUALITY FOR ALL!
did you read this article perez? how hard it was to find a place to have a meeting? at one meeting only 25 out of 4000 people attended? you actually think at a budget of 400k canadian or whatever is going to change that population's minds about homosexuality? they should take the money and put a down payment on a place for gay seniors to stay. geesh, these people will be dead and one with the dirt before any of it sinks in to the institutions they are in. Canada legalized gay marriage. No catastrophic consequences yet, just happier people. US is very slow on following suit.

If you would just read for a few minutes, you would know that it never worked because at least 60% didn't want to separate from Canada. Americans could learn a lot from Canada's health care system, their acceptance of same sex marriage, and other social programs. We are lucky to have them as neighbors.
