Barbara Walter's Retiring? Not Just Yet!
Filed under: TV News > Barbara Walters
Barbara Walters chatted with Larry King last night about her new book, former "View-ers" Rosie and Star, and she dropped the bomb that she indeed has a date in mind for retirement.
But, she did not share it.
Tease!
Walters does reveal that she is signed on for the next season of The View and will leave the fabulous world of news to start a new chapter in her life before she is too old.
She told Larry:
"If I'm on television when I'm 90, people will say 'that old crow, why doesn't she go on?'"
For the record, Barbara is 79.

I hope she carries on with little projects as long as she is intelligently able. Hell, George Burns retired when? I don't believe in putting our most experienced out to pasture. I just don't. Unless they wish to.
Crow indeed
Can't wait!!!
SHE'S LOST HER TOUCH AS AN INTERVIEWER. NOW SHE'S NICE TO EVERYONE LIKE SOMEONE'S GRAMMA. OHH WAIT, SHE IS A GRAMMA!! TIME TO RETIRE BABS, JUST SAYIN.
IVE LUV'D ME SOME WAWA SINCE I WAS LIL..YES I WAS LIKE A LIL KID AND WOULD WATCH 20/20 AND SHIT…CRAZY, YES, ILL BE THE 1ST TO ADMIT IT…BUT SHE'S HAD A GREAT RUN AND I WISH HER THE BEST…I HOPE SHE STICKS AROUND 4 A FEW MORE YRS THO…ILL BE REALLY UPSET WHEN THE FABU JOY LEAVES THE VIEW!!!
79-no,try 179!Snaggletooth bitch!
Whatever..
she and larry need to go to a hide-away together
bawa wawa has clearly aged gracefully (plus she looks human, unlike joan rivers)
I think we are already saying "that old crow, why doesn't she go on?" but not because of her age. She actually looks nice. She just has such a creepy personallity.
.. wonna hear something crazy?
I don't watch the View regularly or anything
but hell, I'd be down with good ol' Babs on tv for as long as she likes!
she gives me the lolz and is still a pretty classy damne..
Do 'er up girl!
The View is so much more lively when Babs isn't there. There comes a time when youth and skill win out over old age and treachery. She needs to go get on with HER life, not babble on in ours.
There was a time when she drove me crazy…but suddenly I have a new respect for her. Stay as long as you like, Barbara…you earned it.
