Elizabeth Edwards Chats With The Big O About Her Husband's Adultery!

Oprah made the trek from Chicago to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, for a sit down interview with the terminally ill Elizabeth Edwards set to air this Thursday!
Elizabeth is currently promoting her memoir Resilience, set to hit bookstore shelves on May 12th.
Oprah chatted with the wife of former senator and presidential hopeful John Edwards about her husband's infidelity, but questions mentioning her husband's illegitimate baby momma Rielle Hunter by name were off-limits in the interview!
The Big O popped the big question we've all been wondering: "Are you still in love with him?"
"You know, that's a complicated question," Elizabeth truthfully answered in the interview.
"Is it a day by day thing?" Oprah continued.
Explained Edwards, who is battling cancer, "Neither one of us is out the door so I guess it's day by day, but maybe it's month by month."
As far as Hunter naming John as the father of the illegitimate love child, Elizabeth danced around the claim of her husband being the father!
"I've seen a picture of the baby. I have no idea. It doesn't look like my children but I don't have any idea," Edwards clarified to Oprah.
Although there hasn't been a paternity test to determine John as the biological father, how could she ignore such blatant evidence????

She can ignore such blatant evidence because she's dying and she wants to. Leave this poor woman alone. She's got small children who will soon have to face losing their mom. She doesn't want to put them through a divorce first.

The other child is not something she CAN ignore. My guess is that she's still choosing to be in denial, and that's just so she can continue to cope.
I can't say I blame her for not wanting to start a whole new life when she's not sure how much she has left of this one. If she gets better, it might become a whole different story, and all the power to her.

She's not in denial. She's smart. The day she acknowledges that baby is her husband's child, she knows the baby mamma is going to cash in, try (again) to become a celeb, and most likely write a 'baby mamma memoirs' book herself. Don't under estimate Elizabeth Edwards.
she's not ignoring it. she's dying of cancer. she has other things to consider than focusing on that. the father of her children is by her side as she tries to make the best out of what she has left.

Look how bloated her face and hands are - probably from the cancer treatment. She's not wearing her wedding ring because it won't fit.
My question is why haven't they done a paternity test. He knows it is his. I wonder if he is trying to spare her and wait untill she passes on. The whole situation is disgusting. I totally sympathize with her. A cheating spouse is difficult to deal with and it takes an enormous amount of effort to forgive. that does not make her a weak person or a hyprocrite. It is a choice she made with herself. She has to be able to live with what he did and writing a book was probably extremely therapeutic for her.

Because Love is blind… obviously she still loves him, if she didn't she would have divorced him. Although, battling cancer is hard enough… she may just see it as fighting one battle at a time, she is struggling to beat cancer… I give her props for not letting this affair and illegitamate child bring her down during her worst times.

She probably think the "other woman" is a whore, but in my opinion Mrs. Edwards is reacting ALSO like a whore. Selling a book about her marital problems? Going to day shows talking about her husband's affair? …I lost all my respect for this woman. Cancer can not make idiotic, it make you sick.

She stated she found out about the affair just after he decided to run for president I read in one report And that she told him it would come out in the press sooner or later!!…How long after that did Edwards and her come out and make the statement about her having the cancer??

That old line, "The kid doesn't even look like me!" needs to be retired. A kid can look like other people besides its parents. Its called genetics and anyone who had biology in high school knows that. She just wants it to go away and therfore chooses not to believe it is his. I feel sorry for her, being in the position she is in.
