Roman Polanski fled the country and it looks like he ain't never coming back.
Attorneys for the film director stated in a court filing yesterday that Polanski will not return to the United States from Europe this week to contest in person his 1978 conviction for having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Legal experts say that if Polanski were to return from France to the U.S., he would promptly be arrested on the spot, but by not coming back, he has no chance of getting the conviction dismissed.
Polanski tried to have his guilty plea thrown out on claims that the judge in the case was improperly coached by a prosecutor, but when that didn't work, he left the country and is now considered a fugitive.
Hard to make movies when you're behind bars, we guess.

If he is to be prosocuted, then the mom should go to jail too. She brought the kid to Nicolsons house many times. Warren Beatty was there also. This was not Polanski's first time with this girl, and it is true that the woman has said many times to just let it go.

The way you write this post is as if it is a recent situation, and Polanski isn't able to make films as a result.
DUH. WRONG.
Polanski continues to work. And work. There is simply no real reason for him to return to the US, to live, to work, to do anything. It is an old case, from a different time period/lifestyle. I almost feel like the better punishment for Polanski is financial; fine him $30++ million & give it all to the Center for Missing & Explooited Children (or something along those lines).
His movies suck anyway.
