Could the Jonas Brothers hype have lost some of its heat???
Even though 4 million tweens and parents tuned into the Disney Channel's premiere of Jonas on Saturday night, the JoBros new series failed to bring the numbers Disney was hoping for!!
In fact, Jonas was the lowest rated premiere of a live action series for the channel since 2005!!!!
Even Miley Cyrus has bypassed the Jonas Brothers in the ratings!!
The latest ep of Hannah Montana premiered to 4.8 million viewers, almost one million more than her channel-mates.
Ouch!
This should come to no surprise, considering Smiley's Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour earned a cool $40 million more than the Jonai's 3-D box-office underperfomer!
Will the JoBros mania survive through 2009???
Or do we have three Jesse McCartney's on our hands????

Of course I still love them. I think maybe they should break out of the Disney mold. Or maybe Disney should break Miley Cyrus out of their mold. She's not a good role model for them. I'm shocked that ANYONE still likes the Jonas Brothers. This is nothing against them personally or against their religious beliefs, but they can't sing… or act. They are in general poor entertainers, and the only reason they are popular is because they are/were attractive to the younger set. Much like Hansen (who btw were leauges more talented.), their 10 min is up. Glad to see them go, hope to never hear burning up again…

Why is everyone failing to acknowledge the fact that their tour sold out in SECONDS and they sold over 800,000 tickets? A lot of their fans are fans for the music. The tv show and movies are just side things that don't matter to a lot of us. Sure, we'll watch it but we're here for the music.

Unfortunately, their star IS going. I work at a Disney Store and their products just aren't selling well. Camp Rock mania was really the height for them. It's just downhill from there. Some people will be happy to see hear that Miley Cyrus is going the same way. Before the movie, she was really, REALLY fading. What I like to call "SPICE GIRL SYNDROME" happened in that if you still liked her, you were baby-ish and uncool. However, the movie really boosted her back up. She should be REALLY careful about cutting her Disney ties. Without them, she has a very small chance to continue her career at the level it's at now. She will always be Hannah Montana to a lot of her fans and once those fans grow up, they won't want to be associated with her for fear of being immature. I don't care how great she sings or how talented her acting is. If you have a brand over your head marking you for ages 7-12, you're done once those kids grow up.

i think everyone realizes how overrated and how big of losers/douche bags they really are. joe dumps taylor swift so he can date someone 2 seconds later who he thinks is more attractive? and nick jonas seems like a pyscho. and the other one is just plain boring. they can't even sing. soo done.
My 8 year old daughter and I watched it and I must say it was tolerable. Reminded me of the Monkees back in the day. Stupid yet fun and easy on the eyes.
miley cyrus may be a little annoying once in a while, but she doesn't seem overly packaged. her songs aren't exactly masterpieces, but she's barely 16. she's just having fun, learning who she is, and she actually looks refreshingly normal (even if the gum smacking makes me want to smack the back of her head). these "dudes" on the other hand, are full of shit. they eat, breathe, and live what they're told to. they're trying to do some kind of partridge family shit, except everyone knows it's completely FAKE. i hate the way they dress, pose, talk, perform, etc. they suck. BE GONE!

I used to be the biggest Jonas Brothers fan EVER. I mean, even traveling to California to see a concert because their tour wasn't coming to my home state.
But recently I have noticed fans have diminished more and more. They have been getting a little cheesy for a 17 year old. I know they're supposed to be "role models" but they can't appeal to the fans they started with forever. Those fans grow up, and expect them to do the same. Don't get me wrong i still love those boys. But definitely don't think this can last forever.

I think Disney is throwing them out there too much. Too much can be a bad thing. I love these guys. Even though there are alot of negitive comments, I think Nick is talented for 16 years!!! I would love to hear what some of you guys were doing at 16, it wasn't selling out arenas!! Their new cd hasn't even hit the stores yet and they needed to add shows to their tour. Their star is not fading.

Whether or not the tween set continues to embrace them doesnt really matter. I think its cool that they play their own instruments and write their own songs. How many artists do that nowadays? First off, lol @ Jonai, that was actually mentioned in the Hannah episode with the JoBros guest starring. Well, I am a fan of Miley, but honestly the new episode this week had David Archuleta guest star, so it was a big episode technically and that definitely helped pull in even more people. Or maybe it was the time it aired that could have affected a littlle? JoBros's show premieired at 8 on Saturday night when many tweens couls have been out that night where as Hannah's new episode was sunday night at 8, usuall when most people are back home preparing for Monday the next day. Overall though, I think non-fans should really see that even though Miley has a lot of haters, the number of devoted fans she has far outnumbers most people right now. I don't really follow the Jobros, but in general, they're cool and they seem nice too.
It was a bad idea to premier it on a Saturday.I wasn't home & I watched it online the next day but I agree with GOODNIGHTANDGO everyone is focusing on the negatives.Their tour is the highest grossing tour of the year beating out Britney,Taylor & U2.That is a huge accomplishment being overlooked because of 4 million viewers ( I honestly do not think 4 million is bad).

Whatever. The show is clearly better than anything else on the Disney Channel. Same can be said for their music compared to most typical Disney stuff. Seeing as people love garbage, I would consider their relative "non-excellence" in ratings and such as a sign of their credibility, LOL.
But seriously, they are great. If their hype would diminish it might be a blessing in disguise.

Hmm…good point about the ratings being for people who caught it on TV. I love them, but I was out Saturday night as well, and watched it online as soon as I got home. Have they factored in online viewership at all? We don't watch cable at ALL any more at my house.

Cha still love them. Love them before they were HUGE. I read some comments that said that can't sing or act. I think the can. Nick has a beautiful voice. His is my favorite. =] And they can act. I was one of those 4 million viewers. Cute show. I was surpised with the acting. They started off on broadway and commericals, so come on now. And they're tour is doing AMAZING! So let's just hope things get WAY better, and fast. =]

Reasons Why I hate jb:
1.) Their music sucks (except, like, 3 songs) and sounds the same
2.) They're way over exposed, even worse then "Hannah" Atleast Miley/Hannah didn't go on THREE damn tours in a row!
3.) Kevin showed poor judgement in wearing that team Demi and Selena shirt.
4.) Their fans annoy the hell out of me.
5.) They're TERRIBLE actors!

Seriously, ALL the girls in my school; who had "OJD" last year, including myself, got a MAJOR reality check last summer. Too bad I got that wake-up call AFTER I spent the 60 dollars on their concert tickets for the Burning up tour. The only reason I still went was to support Demi. Now me and all the other ex-fans have just ripped up our posters and thought about all the wasted money. *sighs* All the things I coulda bought with all that money I wasted on them =[

The only reason that their views were pretty low this past weekend are because their fans had "house parties".
Therefore, their fans got together in big groups & watched the show together, on 1 T.V.
