As we mentioned earlier, former Dallas star Victoria Principal is being sued by a former maid for assault, emotional distress, and false imprisonment after the actress fired her and pulled a gun on her. Seriously!

However, things are never quite what they seem.

In fact, Victoria has just filed her own lawsuit! And she DOES admit to pulling a gun on the maid, but said it was only after the help threatened her, injured her pooch, and "went on a wild tear."

According to Principal's lawsuit, the incident took place last December on the day after Christmas. After being fired, the maid supposedly went into a rage, hit another maid in the house, grabbed Vic's pooch and took off.

An hour later, allegedly she returned "dragging" the dog in and screaming for money. That's when Principal became frightened of the 6 foot tall, 160lb maid and ran up to her bedroom to grab her gun and demand the maid to leave.

Instead, Banegas ran into the guest house, locked the door, and didn't leave until the Sheriff's deputies came and removed her. The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. was even contacted by the maid by on January 9th to file assault charges on Principal, but the case was dropped based on "insufficient evidence."

As for the dog, Victoria says it was "writhing in pain" and the next day the vet determined the pooch was suffering from "stress-induced gastritis."

Vic's now suing her maid for unspecified damages.
