Paris Testifies That…
A lawsuit was filed against Paris Hilton in Miami, claiming that the hotel heiress didn't do enough to promote her movie Pledge This!.
Worldwide Entertainment Group, the company who filed the suit, is seeking $8.3 million in damages from her, stating that Hilton failed to plug the DVD release.
But the diva is not backing down.
"Any chance I got, any red carpet, any press, if I was doing something for another product … I would just bring it up."
Paris' people (aka lawyers and handlers) stand firm that she honored her contract in promoting the limited theatrical release of Pledge This! and never agreed to do as much for the DVD. They also contend the investors made unreasonable and last-minute demands for publicity events when her overflowing schedule was fully booked.
"She's the single busiest person on the planet," said Michael Weinstein, Hilton's lawyer.
Hilton is currently on vacation in the Caribbean.

Contracts have bullet points that have either been ticked off as being done, or not. If any contract is so vague that the fulfillment of its obligations is up in the air, then it's fulfillment or not will be hard to determine by anybody anyway. If they handed Paris cash without specific and quantifiable chores for her to fulfill, it's going to be a little hard to get that horse back into the barn after the fact. Write better contracts. Maybe she did fulfill whatever obligations, and it's just a difference in opinion. To be determined.
