Robert Rodriguez's Barbarella is Dead!

As we first mentioned back in 2007, film director Robert Rodriguez has been trying to remake the Jane Fonda classic, Barbarella. The down side? He decided to cast his girlfriend, Rose McGowan, as the lead.
Big mistake!
Months later reports surfaced that Universal Studios backed out of the deal as a result of McGowan starring in the flick, though Rodriguez denied that was the real reason, blaming it solely on financial issues.
And when rumors of the couple splitting up leaked, reports were that McGowan would no longer be the lead.
But, now MTV is confirming that the Barbarella remake is officially over. During a recent chat with Rodriguez, the director confirmed the movie is no longer a go.
Rodriguez admitted:
“It came to the point where [a company from] Germany offered us a $70 million budget, which would have been by far the biggest budget I ever would have had for a movie. But I had to shoot it in Germany and post it in Germany. Nothing against Germany, but I have five kids and I was like, ‘God, I don’t know if we can do that. I don’t know if I can be away that long.’
It was a real bummer. We had all this artwork and screen tests of what it would look like. It was a really cool, R-rated, sexy—almost like that [1981 animated] movie, ‘Heavy Metal’—version of a ‘Star Wars’ movie. Something that no one ever could get to see. It was gonna be really great.”
Yea yea, we bet.

You know, she's just not that hot, not a really great actor and she even gets annoying to look at when she's onscreen too much. It's okay for Rodriguez to be blind in love, but if he goes broke because nobody will do his movies anymore because there's way too much McGowan in all of them, she's going to leave him. And that would probably be good.
What a douche! Take your kids to Germany for six months, they might come back to America with an education!
Rose is one of the best actresses of our time and i think she would be phenominal in this roll!!! so everyone else can shut the F#@* up!!!

With all due respect Rose McGowan's tits are too small to mentioned in that same sentence as "Heavy Metal" which featured mega titted cartoon goddesses. Fonda was small but a much better actress than McGowan and Vadim a MUCH better director. Grindhouse tanked and mostly stank because it had such small breasted women in it, all were beautiful but none had that Russ Meyer thing going on. These camp films need big natural tits. Glad its not happening!

I think Rose would have been good in it, she was the SHIT in Grindhouse. However I think it would have tanked because you shouldnt remake that movie… but of all the actresses to cast, Rose would have actually been one of the best, dont blame it on Rose!
