Christian Bale Admits He's A Douche

In the new issue of Esquire UK, wacktor Christian Bale outright accepts that his now infamous outburst on the set of Terminator: Salvation may have been an overreaction.
And that's putting it mildly!
"It’s not excusable what I did," he says. "I went way overboard. A lot of it was to do with the scene we were doing and stupid as it may sound to a lot of people, my character was going through a great deal in that particular scene."
You're right…it does sound stupid!
Bale also discusses the very public recording of the incident, the embarrassment of having the whole world hear it, and opts to make no comment about the alleged hotel assault involving his sister and mother that landed him in a police station for four hours on the eve of the European premiere of The Dark Knight.
“I just think it’s a family matter. That’s the end of it. I will not take part in this gossip nation, you know?"

If his character's going through a lot in a scene shouldn't he be able to separate the two considering he's a great "actor" and all?
he needs to accept that being a celebrity is part of being a famous and might i add very rich actor, i very much doubt that has stopped him from acting like a douche in the future, he is also a role model to people and no matter whether he did or did not hit his mother/sister it makes it more acceptable to hit a woman when your batman.

AMEN BROTHA!! It is hard for actors (at least, good actors) to get out of character at the drop of a hat. Especially after that a-hole walked through and f-ed up the scene multiple times. The director should have said something, Mr. Bale shouldn't have had to.

The guy may have a bit of a temper and some anger issues, but I still admire him because he's a great actor who's been involved in some awesome films, and he isn't a famewhore unlike much of Hollywood now-a-days. I find it refreshing that I don't know much about his private life as it means that when I'm watching him I'm not thinking, for example, 'Oh that's Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman'. Of course, it's an added bonus that he's hot.

Christian Bale is still my favorite actor, and despite how mean he sound in that audio it doesn't erase the fact he is a good actor and he was man enough to apologize about that incident — lastly I dont think he is the only actor who had an outburst like that– I bet many others out there are far worst and we will never know.

I don't understand why he's still even addressing this. It happened how long ago? So what he lost it one day at work. It happens. He apologized and life goes on. At least for people with lives that is.
You don't know anything about acting or the circumstances. The director of photography was moving and adjusting lights while the scene was filming!! The DP was the one who wasn't acting professional. Furthermore the DP did that numerous times throughout the film. I know because I work in the industry and I know what really happened behind the scenes. When you purposely channel your emotions into a heightened and focused state in order to be effective in the scene, last thing you want is someone to derail you, particularly if that happened before. Taking acting lessons before you judge or get onto a set and work with a professional crew before judging. Yeah, how ChristIan Bale reacted might be harsh but I don't blame him for getting upset. I hope he has a long and fruitful career and the DP learns not to move lights while the camera is rolling.
It blows my mind that this is even worth reporting on. We ALL lose our tempers, why's he so fucking special he gets a news report about it?

i have to admit that I thought Bales outburst was not only extremely entertaining, but justified given the DP was being a douche, and not hearing Bales side. The DP continued to frustrate Bale, minimizing his complaint, thereby inciting Bales anger. The DP should have apologized immediately for disrupting Bale from the scene; Bale is a great artist. What would it be like if a workman walked across the operating room during neurosurgery, HUH! Think about it.. Bale probably does need greater temper control, so that he is not provoked in a way which can damage his brilliant career.
Christian Bale is an amazing actor, earns his money and keeps his head down. He's a family man and loves his wife. We don't see him falling out of clubs, headbutting gay designers or living in a Hollywood world of me me me. The prick that upset him deserved a bollocking because Bale takes his work seriously and that's why when we pay our hard earned cash to watch his films you get a guy who isn't going through the motions. He's a dick occasionally but aren't we all. His comments don't sound stupid at all you dumb media slag whore star fuck bum boy.
Actors tend to be intense people (good ones at least), and this guy was in the middle of an intense scene. Douche or not in real life, I say we give Bale a grace/walk on this one. Haven't you ever over-reacted and made an ass of yourself? Yeah, haven't we all.
