I find it shocking to find on this Gay Man's Celebrity Blog so many comments telling him to shut it about rights that are given to some and denied others. The fact that these rights and issues effect Perez's life gives him the motivation to express his views on his forum. When anyone American is being treated less than another American strictly because of someones personal views religious or otherwise it should upset you. When anyone of us is being treated unfairly then all of us are being treated unfairly. We are all Equal and should be afforded the same rights and benefits. I suggest that some of you wake up and realize that your freedoms are just as at stake here. Who's rights are going to be next? We should all be struggling to make sure that every person is being treated fairly and equally.

I don't think Obama needs to anything right now except work on the economy, health care, and protecting our country. He has left it up to the states to decide and as a sovereign union of States….I think it is best left in their hands as to whether or not to legalize gay marriage or same sex unions.

I do support gay men and women having the same rights under marriage as a heterosexual couple….HOWEVER, I don't think it would be politically WISE for our president and would be horribly distracting for him to dive into the middle of this issue right now. He is making gains, getting the support he needs…..I don' t think he needs to legislate something so CONTROVERSIAL that the states can handle.

Um being ordered to follow the equal protections clauses and enforcing the Laws of our country is hardly being an activist judge it is called doing the job the right way and applying the law to citizens equally. The sad thing is there is something onthe ballot for next week about funding for firefighters. If that doesn't pass, they are going to lose a shit-ton of money. Obama doesn't care about gays and lesbians any more than he cares about the little people he says will not be influenced by his raise in taxes. He promised to raise taxes on the most wealthy which would quote on quote no effect 95% of us. The problem is that any time you raise taxes on one group in society, it will impact the others. For example, his proposed tax increase on companies that contribute to pollution pay a higher tax. I agree with it in theory but here is the problem. With these companies already getting higher taxes and stress because of the economy, if you tax them more, they have to make a profit, so guess what goods and service prices go up. So, all us little people pay more and that's just one of his tax programs. It's time for equal rights, but as someone else pointed out here, Obama is trying to get re-elected and if it isn't written on a teleprompter by his handlers, he won't say it. So, I am sure they vetoed any gay rights talk. All 50 states will pass legislation before he will do anything or say anything. At some point, all the people who drank the Obama Kool-aid, are going to realize he's just another empty politician just working a job and not making a difference. He was created by the press and ultimately he will have to tick them off, which he eventually will, then he will realize he should have stayed true to his liberal roots and stand up for equal rights.

The Constitution applies equally to all American Citizens Exactly the same way. The Law is supposed to be enforced by the courts. The Equal Protections Clauses and Constitutions applies to all not just Straight people. The high courts decide if a new bill, amendment, prop is against the State/Federal Constitutions and if it is then it is struck down if it is brought before it. As the case in Iowa and will hopefully be the case in CA.
I would suggest you read up on the subject as you are sadly misinformed.

Hey Mario, I think Prez Obama has more pressing issues on his plate–namely the China-South America and Taliban-Pakistan problem and the still-lagging recession. It is a state thing–the same-gender issue. He'll come to that in time, but meanwhile, let's hope to high heaven we aren't entering World War III or the Dirty 30's by the end of the year, m'okay? So yeah, put your priorities in place Mario. I think world peace and secure jobs are a bit more important to Obama at the moment than speaking out for or against same-gender marriages.
