Fires Force Katy Perry Postponement

We were really looking forward to this.
Due to the current Jesusita Fire that continues to burn in the Santa Barbara area, the Katy Perry concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl this Saturday has been postponed.
The show has been rescheduled until Sunday August 30th.
Katy released this statement in response:
"What's most important right now is fighting the fires that threaten my hometown and saving Santa Barbara. Naturally, I am very upset but I understand the circumstances and am counting down the days when we can all be back at the Bowl to celebrate Santa Barbara and experience The Hello Katy Tour Grand Finale! My prayers are with you Santa Barbara."
All tickets for the May 9th concert will be honored for this new performance date.
Our thoughts are with those that lost their homes.

Santa Barbara County Bowl is nestled up inot the lower foothills…so it is a good thing to postpone. Even if the fire is put out today- the emergency system needs time to put itself back together- worrying about 4,000 partiers in one place isn't what they need. If you ever want to see a show in a fantastic place- SB Bowl in THE PLACE!!!!! Best venue EVER!

Over 30,000 people are evacuated out of their homes right now, the least thing people care about is Katy's concert. Maybe she can do a benefit show fro the victims because when this is over this town will not be the same…

@17 "yah fire boo katy perry" as in yah fire cancelling a horrible katy perry concert not yah people lost they're homes in the fires, you misunderstood.
I like Katy Perry, but she was meant to be performing at my Uni Summer Ball to 10,000 students next month. Instead, she's withdrawn to sing at a show in Russia. I think this is pretty poor as many people bought their £40 Ball Tickets with the expectation she would be performing. On the other hand, the Wombats will be performing instead. Nice to know some artists like their fans.

My sister lives across the street from the Santa Barbara Bowl and they did evacuate. It is NOT really in the fire area…..It was below. Yes I was born and raised in Santa Barbara and the Bowl is by far the best place for a concert. Katy Perry is also a born and bred Santa Barbara native.
