Pageant People Say Miss Cali Should "Give Up The Crown"

Carrie Prejean has been busy.
Too busy to even involve herself with projects such as a poignant PSA California state pageant officials put together on the beauty of their state. When asked to appear, her rep replied that she had a "prior personal commitment otherwise she would have been glad to participate."
While talks about dethroning Prejean are still in the works, the state pageant officials think it might be better for her to just give up her title, especially because of her new activities.
In a new interview, state pageant director Keith Lewis commented:
"Carrie is still Miss California USA, but right now she is not acting in the capacity of Miss California USA. She is acting as Carrie Prejean and working on things that are important to Carrie Prejean."
Even other beauty queens are suggesting she resign:
"I think it's awesome that she’s found something that she’s very passionate about and found this voice, but if she wants to pursue that and emphasize those opinions she should do it as Carrie not as Miss California so therefore I do think she should step down," Miss USA 2004 Shandi Finnessey said.
Clearly, she isn't taking the hint.

Perez is not at all the only person covering this story. This is news. He has made news about beauty queens before, so why not this? Especially when he has personal ties for it. California has a huge gay community and she is not representing it as she should. I'm not sure if Miss TN represents me how I would like, but I know for damn sure she isn't parading her beliefs and becoming and advocate for something I don't believe in. They are role models. That being said, she has no position espousing those beliefs while carrying the crown of Miss California. When she got into the beauty pageant business, she did it knowing full well that it came with a price, which is representing the State of California. She should do everyone a favor and step down immediately and follow the path of her predecessors, specifically Anita Bryant and Phyllis Schafly.

Let's be clear: Gay civil marriage advocates are seeking recognition of one-on-one relationships, not multiple partner marriage, not underage marriage, not inter-family marriage, not animal marriage. Attempting to confuse or change the subject with such suggestions is not going to derail the conversation. These attempts do however diminish the anti-marriage equality position, making it appear the anti-marriage equality advocates are indeed utterly unqualified and clueless as to what is being requested by gay civil marriage advocates.
President Obama, VP Biden, and SOS Clinton have all come out and stated without a doubt, "I BELIEVE MARRIAGE IS BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN."

There are at least two opinions on EVERY issue. We just got over an election year and eveyone was sick of hearing someone ride the middle for their own best interest. It would have been in her own best interest if she didn't take a stance, not the interest of either side.
