Before filming the upcoming Bruno flick, Sacha Baron Cohen may have gone a bit overboard in the character preparation department!
To slip into the mind and body of Bruno, Cohen decided it was mandatory to bleach all of his body hair!
"[Sacha] heard that all-over hairlessness is a popular trend in the gay community, so he thought he'd bleach all his hair so it looked invisible," a source close to the actor divulged to reporters.
Has the Bruno star never heard of waxing???
It's a mighty shame, because Sacha was completely unaware of the fact that he's allergic to hydrogen peroxide!
"Shortly after having the procedure done he felt a burning sensation and it grew steadily worse… He had a bad allergic reaction to hydrogen peroxide, which is a strong bleaching agent," the source explained.
Never bleach without doing a patch test first, duh!
Especially when you're dealing with, ahem, "private" areas.
"It was so severe around a certain part of his anatomy that he couldn't sit down for three days… Crew members found the whole incident hilarious and it slowed down filming for a bit, but Sacha soon got over the discomfort."
Docs prescribed the funnyman an anti-irritant and in time, filming resumed as schedule.
Thank goodness!

I've seen the film (legally) it is sooooo good! ok so its a stereotype of a gay man, yes not all gay men are like that, but some ARE, so this is the character he is portraying, and he's not making fun of gay people he's making fun of the people who take the stereotype seriously - u guys relax, its a funny film i totally recommend it x

I have actually been bleaching my arm hair for several years. It's much easier than waxing or shaving. It's also painless, and takes about 10 minutes every two weeks with a $5 kit.
