Gossiping at the White House

Filed under: Chace Crawford > Gossip Girl

gossip-girl-image__opt.jpg

Every year, the President hosts the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner, and this year, President Obama is going to be surrounded by some big-name celebrities.

Expected to attend are Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria, John Cusack and some of the fresh, hot faces from Gossip Girl.

Slated to attend are Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr. Crawford, who is a Democrat, was invited to the event by Fox News and he hopes this will mean a meet and greet with Bill O'Reilly so the two can talk "about his pro-Obama beliefs."

Now, we wish we were going.

how are these people correspondents? and you want to meet and greet with bill o'reilly? he will bury you-you are just used to printing stuff. I wish you were going -that I would like to see.

  4. 4

this is starting to sound like the bill clinton invitee list where celebrities were running all around the white house, as a payback type thing-knew this was unfortunately going to happen. This country is in too much trouble, invitee people who can help, not fluff

What happened Perez did your invite get lost in the mail? Or was it just because this year you actually HAD to be invited, instead of paying your way in?

Justtfax- It is the correspondents dinner, a media dinner! You should try to get your Facts straight about the last eight years of attendies. Perez posted pictures from last years dinner, look and see who turned up.

I doubt Bill O'Reilly knows who Chace Crawford is. That's an odd guest list, I thought the dinner was just for news folks.

  10. 10

Why do you want to go to a dinner in witch the host (Obama) is against gay marriage?… Even if you received an inivitation, you will say no, correct? I mean, you want to be the poster boy for gay mariage, so you visiting the White House will destroy your purpose.

Or you are just another asshole without principles or commitment to your cause?

  11. 11

    leighton wasn't invited?

  12. 12

So you will urge Obama to change his views on gay marriage and be whinning the whole ass time about how Miss California make you look like a complete douche??? lol

Check Perez Hilton's twitter… he got on a ridicolous feud with Kirstey Alley & Melissa Gilbert, he trashed both down and was a vile evil!!! Check on his ridicolous rants.
@kirstiealley At least I've never been to rehab. Seems like you're due for another visit soon, sweetie.
@MelissaEGilbert I entertain people every day. Put smiles on millions of their faces.
@MelissaEGilbert But I'm a blogger. That's what I do. I also do a lot of good and I GENUINELY think I'm making the world a better place.
@kirstiealley Who is sadder: the gossip blogger or the hasbeen actress stooping down to his level? 'Nuff said. I win. TRY and top that!

Re: UrMajestyMsG Hi MsG, I think that there's a misunderstanding here. This annual dinner is hosted by the White House Correspondent's Association, the journalists who cover presidental and government affairs.
    .
While the President (and often the First Lady) are honored guests every year and speak and tell jokes, neither the President or the White House staff have anything to do with the invitations.
    .
Invitations are made by the news organizations, networks, and media companies who pay for tables at the dinner (it is a charity event for a college scholarship fund). It is a tradition that the big national networks usually invite Hollywood types and other celebrities, often young stars and fresh faces. That's why Fox News invited the Gossip Girl crew, even though their show is not on Fox.
    .
Sometimes, however, companies do use the dinner to try to get publicity for their young stars and their projects. Last year, Disney (who owns ABC) told ABC News to invite Zacquisha Efron, in order to get publicity for the release of the HSM2 DVD.

  17. 17

they should have like, jon stewart there as the comedian act before the president speaks. but he would probably just go on and on about bush

  18. 18

Re: Lula Mae Lou – I know what the dinner is about, and i can over look barack not having anything to do with the invitations, but still, G.G. crap….ugh….i'd have them uninvited or banned from the building..lol…sorry to all the fans out there…i just dont get whats so great about the show. Its too much like watching a bunch of paris "herpes" hilton…dumb, rich, bimbos, sooo not my thing…i literally would rather try and eat glass than look at "herpes" hilton, much less watch a bunch of poorly acted wannabe's…lmao…

  19. 19

Re: UrMajestyMsGApologies - my wording was unclear; I was noting the general confusion about the invitations (you're actually one of the highest-informed commentators on here, and I'm very glad to read your postings).
    .
My personal opinion is that the Correspondents group invites young stars (and star-wannabees) because it generates news coverage outside of the Beltway and outside of political-wonk publications andwebsites (such as the Huffington Post). The photos will run in Poeple, USA Today and other MOR mainstream pubs, and that's the goal. I'm sure it's for the same reason that the Metropolitan Opera invites Kanye West and his porno girlfriendto its black tie openings.
    .
Also, for whomever said that GG actors would be at the White House, the dinner is at the Washington Hilton.

  20. 20

The best one hands down was Colbert hosting during the Bush fiasco presidency! OMG, that was hilarious!!!

  21. 21

lets hope bill can talk some sense into chace . . .
he seems pretty but still . . .

  22. 22

why don't for once they get real people in america who are interested to go instead of these pathetic excuse of actors who play womanizing whores on a piss poor tv show?

  23. 23

Re: Lula Mae Lou – Well thank u and im glad that u enjoy my postings…u also sound very imformed and i understand where u were coming from…well, at least we wont have to pay our tax dollars towards the fumigation of the white house after they leave…lmao…and i cant get over the met inviting that trash to the gala either…the real celebs must have been in other countries this year, those two wankers just reek of desperation….BARF!!

  24. 24

Is there anything these guys can't do?!

Btw I hate hate hate Jenny on the show but I love Taylor Momsen's new band. . . That song Zombie is really good.

  25. 25

Bill O'Reilly and Chace Crawford? Fixed News invited Chace because he's a Democrat?
Is this reliable information? Can't be true … too funny ..

Crawford is a democrat my ass! That tart is a Texan, and also dated 'Jesus take the Wheel'. He is just too scared like the little bitch that he is to admit that he is a democrat!

  27. 27

CHASE IN NOT A DEMOCRAT. HE IS A DECENT YOUNG CHRISTIAN MAN WHO WENT TO PEPPERDINE, A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. HOMOSEXUALITY, ABORTION, ETC.. ARE CLEARLY AGAINST CHRISTIAN BELIEFS AND YET THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ESPOUSES SUCH "VALUES" , SO CHASE IS NOT A DEMOCRAT

Re: UrMajestyMsG – You look like trash, shut your fucking face. So what if they're invited to the met they still have to pay for there own tickets dip shit.

  30. 30

Re: justtfax – People like this always get invited to the correspondents dinner.
perez and the jonas brothers were there last year.
to me, this is a step up.

Re: COCACOLA – wow, harsh CocaCola…that doesn't make sense to me either. The point of trying to change laws is to convince the naysayers that it wouldn't end the world if Gay couples could marry…or any other change for that matter. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what Lobbyists do? How are you going to get ANYWHERE if you only stick with people who support your cause? That makes no damn sense. Especially with the subject of Gay marriage when it is glaringly obvious that there are more people who oppose it strongly than those who support it. Otherwise, we wouldn't keep seeing the issue on the ballots shot down everywhere. The whole issue bothers me to no end because I just don't get what the big deal is? If I were able to be a voice that would be heard, I would push for Gay marriage to be legal in all States. It should Not be a State issue and quite frankly, it does NOT need to be voted on by the public. Unless someone can show me DIRECT PROOF as to how Bob and Jim's marriage is going to affect me or my family in ANY way…then I have no business voting on whether they should be allowed to. Period.
