Farrah Fawcett Speaks Out
Filed under: Farrah Fawcett > Sad Sad
Speaking with a reporter for the first time since her cancer diagnosis in September 2006, Farrah Fawcett says that the most difficult aspect of her ordeal has been the lack of respect for her privacy and people's obsession with it.
Though the interview was conducted in August, it is being published today, Monday, in anticipation of her 2 hour documentary for NBC, Farrah's Story, airing this Friday.
The Charlie's Angels alum says that the constant media invasion further diminished her quality of life because "I'm a private person. I'm shy about people knowing things. And I'm really shy about my medical [care]. It would be good if I could just go and heal and then when I decided to go out, it would be okay. It seems that there are areas that should be off-limits."
Not only that, but she says that the cancer "becomes your life. People call, 'How are you?' 'How do you feel?' 'We're praying for you.' 'Do you still have your hair?' 'What do you feel like?' When every single call is that kind of call … it's all you talk about."
We hope that Farrah is able to find some peace and comfort as she spends her last days with family and friends.

would you stop posting unflattering pic of her…..can't you use a better picture???
LOVE HER!
Oh, the irony. Farrah just wants to be left alone to die in peace and she ends up on Perez Hilton.
: (
If you are such a "Private" person, why do you film a documentary about your struggle, but yet won't allow anyone to inquire about it?
I feel bad for her.
do ya think she might appreciate you posting a better pic ??? why would you want to do that to a poor dying woman ??
She's a skank.
But I wish her the best.
HELP MY SISTER BATTLE CANCER ANG HELP GET HER STORY OUT PLEASE

at least use a better picture of her. Like her famous poster. This looks like Owen Wilson in drag. Have some heart.
I feel so bad for her. So unfortunate…she seems like such a great and sweet woman. I hope she stays strong. God bless her!
I 2nd what maggiegirl said — i only clicked thru to tell you to find a better pic — geez!
This whole article is about her privacy being violated, and misinformation being printed.
She's talking to you, Perez.
Seperated at birth - Farrah Fawcett (in this pic) and Owen Wilson..
Poor thing

Re: CamillaVilla – Likewise
Re: MacombieHomie – Thats not right.. ur an evil bitch
Re: SDmomof3 – Agreed. I always find it ironic when the celebrities complain about their privacy and then go on to promote the hell out of themselves. Her life partner was just talking to People about petting her bald head. I mean come on. Her own life partner is the biggest publicity slut there is. Yes, I feel sorry for Farrah. It's terrible. But it's hard to take this seriously right before a special is being aired about her cancer struggle.
Aw poor Farrah…you're in our thoughts!
Re: SDmomof3 – OMG, thanks for saying that. Either go away quietly like all other non-celebrities do or make a movie and yell when people inquire about your health. I feel very sorry for her, it is a horrible disease but all of this is coming out just in time for her documentary on Friday. i hope she lives to see it. I knew when son, Redmond, was let out of jail for 3 hours to see his mom, she was going fast. You were the best Angel!!!!

Re: maggiegirl – She's 62 years old, what do you want him to use, her Charlies Angels poster when she was 35 years younger?????
Re: KEEFER – My mom is the same age and I bet she would love it if her picture looked as good as Farrah's.
Don't quite understand this sentiment when she's doing a documentary on her cancer and her life partner is talking to the media. You can't have it both ways.
Mario, she's talking about you fagboy,
So many celebrities want it both ways: "Leave me alone .. Respect my privacy .. I hate the paparazzi" etc etc.
But then they continue to release personal information to news sources and to frequent public places where the paps are known to be.
But that said, bless you Farrah, as you struggle with the horrible results of terminal cancer. Sorry for your suffering.
So if she wants to make a movie/documentary about her treatment to bring awareness and/or help other people going through cancer treatment, that's one thing - but following her to Germany where she's getting her treatment, then continuing to print misinformation about her condition is entirely another.
.
How many times have I read "Farrah's last days" or "Patrick Swayze on death bed". These are people's LIVES, and they're terminally ill. How do you think it makes them feel when the media practically has them dead and buried before they're even gone?
.
Problem here is nobody has any human decency anymore.
Considering the woman is living her last days, maybe you could honor her by using a pic from her heyday, when she was so vital and lovely. Maybe?
When I was 15 I came to NYC from Puerto Rico. It was 1977. It was a very difficult time for me as I am a mama's boy and mom could not come right away. Anyway, the point of this is that my mother looks and looked just like farrah. Same features same hair same nose. So I bought the famous poster. Farrah was with me all that time. She was on one side and my mother on the other. I love Farrah not in a weird way but she comforts me till this day. Im rooting for you girl.
Well if she wanted her privacy respected, maybe she shouldn't have done a documentary on it. Maybe she should have told Ryan not to talk about it. She's a celebrity and like it or not, you have little real privacy when it comes to things like this. I'm sure she knows this, but wishes it was otherwise. The only way for her to die in privacy would have been to stay in a foreign country until the end.
That's a terrible nose job.
You guys don't get it. Releasing information on her own terms is different than being stalked incessantly by people who are hoping for nothing more than to get a picture of her straight out of chemo looking like shit so they can plaster it on the front page of a magazine with the words heading "Farrah's last 24 hours!" Kinda like Perez has done here with the shitty picture and "…spending her last days with family and friends".
.
I realize being a celebrity puts you 'out there' and subjects you to more than the average person, but you would THINK reporters and paparazzi could show terminally ill people a little bit of decency and let them carry out whatever time they have left with some dignity intact.
.
Farrah is from my era, and pics like this is not how i want to remember her. Yet this is what these BOTTOM FEEDERS continue to plaster all over their sites. You're all truly scumbags.
Yet all the media reported YESTERDAY when this was news about this interview… gosh leave her alone and let her spend her last days with dignity!
No more reports on how she is thin or losing hair… enough with it already… she will always be a beautiful angel so let it go already!
LMFAO… a shy and private person oh please.
Re: e46Girl –
AGREED.
Perez, leave her alone and stop putting her in her grave in your blog already.
Re: e46Girl –
Its true, sadly a percentage of these bloggers will be feeling the guilt when they go through it. Stats say 37% of people will experience something…I'm sure that number will grow in the next 10 years…..pick your road of karma.
"I'm a private person. I'm shy about people knowing things. And I'm really shy about my medical [care]." Ignore the camera crew documenting all this for my TV special about my cancer.
And I agree with everyone else, get a better pic. She's dying!
I understand her being annoyed. Remember this quote as you will need it someday - often a best friend, Mother, Dad, Sibling, colleague is okay saying nothing at all. Just be there. These times have nothing to do with your emotions.
"Cabbage Patch dolls come with a license to smother, People don't."
