A Desperate Housewives Spin-Off In The Works?

Marc Cherry just can't get enough of the old broads!
Lily Tomlin and Kathryn Joosten, who play outrageous and meddling sisters Roberta and Karen McCluskey on Desperate Housewives, are in negotiations for their own series with ABC, according to reports.
Both actresses, both about to turn 70 this year, would star in a very Golden Girls-esque type show, and execs are hoping DH creator/exec producer Marc will head the production.
A source says: "Cherry clearly knows how to write for these two actresses. And we would love to have him involved."
We don't know if this could match the brilliance of Golden Girls, but it still could be good. They could swap stories about being the President's bitch.

Both were the President's secretary on The West Wing. Tomlin's character (Debbie Fiderer) replaced Joosten's (Delores Landingham).

I want everyone reading this site to know that Perez Hilton is not a representative of the gay right's movement. Too many people have worked far too long and far too hard, and sacrificed way too much - in some cases their lives - for one person's self-aggrandizement to throw all of that in reverse. I love them on Desperate Housewives they are so funny! I don't think the show would be the same with Mrs. McCluskey. I know they are on to that killer.
But, anything Marc Cherry do I would watch. He did a great job with the
Golden Girls. They were showing classic episodes due to Bea Authur passing.
And, I never laugh so much. Some of them I've never seen. They were great.
Every gay man over the age of 30 would watch it. These two actresses are brilliant, and they deserve to be headliners, not supporting players.
There's only one Golden Girls, I really like Mrs. Mc Clusky and they are both hillarious but I'm hoping the show will be somehow more interesting than GG.
