Paula Abdul is giving back to a former contestant of American Idol.
Scott MacIntyre a.k.a That Blind Guy, was eliminated almost five weeks ago for paling in comparison to Adam Lambert not getting enough votes. Upon his departure, Abdrool pulled him aside and revealed she had a surprise for him in 9 months a few weeks.
The day finally arrived and someone reminded Abdrool to actually give MacIntyre his very special gift: a guide dog from Guide Dogs of America. The visually impaired Idol alum was invited to an event sponsored by the organization and it was there that he received his new furry friend.
MacIntyre was extremely gracious and Paula stayed awake long to even made a joke or too. "We have to find a dog that really likes loud music."
MacIntyre won't receive his helpful guide until after the American Idol Tour.
P.S.- Anyone else think its funny that the blind kid can look right into the camera and she can't?

I don't like (current) paula or (any) american idol, but the picture is beautiful, and maybe she's on the right track now. I love the picture.

But regarding the article and picture - very nice!!!! Paula did a wonderful, thoughtful thing. Those guide dogs are not only incredibly helpful, they also become extraordinary friends, too.
That is a nice gift, however; I always thought guide dogs were provided to those individuals incapable of possessing proper vision through means of insurance and government, as well as, non-profit. If he doesn't have a guide dog, is he 100% blind?

honestly, i think he makes these spelling errors on purpose to get the extra comments with people correcting him…no one can suck that bad at spelling, especially someone who has a site this big. please stop because it seriously makes you look so unprofessional.

Re: ExoticSarah – Just because he does not have a dog does not mean he is not 100% blind. In fact you don't even have to be completely blind in order to get a dog. Some blind people don't like to use dogs instead they use guiding sticks. It all depends on the person.

I work for the Petco Corporate offices and Paula Abdul has been working with Natural Balance and the Guide Dog people for some time. She has several promotions with our store for the organization and she makes appearances on their behalf. Even before the blind dude on Idol. She is a drug-addicted drool monger, but she is a sweetheart as well.
