Gwyneth Returns to the Stage

Gwyneth Paltrow might be hitting the stage again soon!
The blonde fitness nut started her career on stage when she appeared as a youngster in productions at the Williamstown Theatre Festival.
And, now, it seems the Oscar winner is said to be considering a role in Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters on the West End in London.
The show "focuses on the lives of Olga, Masha and Irina, three sisters of Russian gentry, who try to fill their days in order to construct a life that feels meaningful. The sisters are refined and cultured young women who grew up in urban Moscow; however, for the past 11 years they have been living in a small provincial town."
We don't want to say it sounds boring, but uhm, boring!
Speculation is that Gwynie would be playing the eldest sister, Olga, a spinster schoolteacher.

It's a classic play with amazing themes! It's beautiful, thoughtful, heartwrenching and….a little boring

Three Sisters is n amazing play… but I'm sick of hollywood stars thinking they can take over the theatre! Is there no stopping them from ruining the works of classic playwrights? I'd watch it for Chekov. I would be tolerating her.

actually. three sisters is the study of the futility of life and the bonds that hold a family together dumbass! any chekhov play deserves the upmost respect from the actor and audience member! it takes hard work to reproduce a deserving performance on stage! if she's shit (and we know she kinda is) it'll be boring probably but with a proper actress it could move you to tears!
i know you think heidi and spencer are more interesting than going to the theatre, but maybe you should try it you lonely bitter ass-faced queen!

I want everyone reading this site to know that Perez Hilton is not a representative of the gay right's movement. Too many people have worked far too long and far too hard, and sacrificed way too much - in some cases their lives - for one person's self-aggrandizement to throw all of that in reverse. If anyone would care to have a healthy, intelligent debate about legalizing gay marriage, without fear of being called a "dumb bitch" or having your family maligned, I am available.

Re: Dominick – I absolutely agree. Perez is not only a liability to the cause but he should be ashamed of his witch hunt and his venom for this girl and her family. He has shown his true colours here and done himself and everyone else damage. Two Gay members of my family want to marry their long term partners and unlike Perez they are full of love and this is the message we need to get across not the appaling bigotism of Perez. He is an embarrassment.

She returned to Williamstown Theatre a few years ago and her reviews were terrible! Her career is due to her parents. Maybe fitness is her true calling?

Oh Come On People! Whatever she may or may not be like as a person in real life, Gwyneth Paltrow is a fine and competent, Academy Award-wining Actor. The stage is where she first started. I bet she'll be FAB!
If it sounds boring, it's because Chekov is boring. God knows I've seen enough Chekov to last me a lifetime (I have a lot of friends who are "actors"). Gwyneth could only make it even more boring, if that's even possible. I just imagine hospitals suddenly overflowing with coma victims before they discover the only thing they had in common was that they all attended a performance of Ms. Paltrow in a Chekov play. SHUT IT DOWN! SAVE THE AUDIENCE!

And since I have seen many Chekov (yes, that's how it's spelled) plays, I can give my honest and well-educated opinion. They are boring. Back in the day when he wrote them they were much more politically relevant. In today's world, they can really only hearken back to that time. Yes, some of his general ideas are worthy of consideration today, but overall, to quote Dylan, "the times, they are a-changin'".
Don't pretend to be something you're not "peapo". Just because it's Chekov it doesn't mean you saying it's great will make you any smarter.
