Heidi Montag Is Officially Mrs. Pratt

When a lot of celebrities opt not to change their name because of their celebrity, The Hills Heidi Montag will be more traditional. She has officially changed her name to Heidi Pratt since marrying her sweetheart, Spencer Pratt.
Heidi reveals:
"When we filled out the marriage license, I checked the box to change my name to Heidi Pratt. It's on my new license, credit cards and everything."
While the last name sticks personally, Heidi will be keeping her maiden professionally, at least for now.
"When I did my album, it was still pre-wedding, so I may still be Heidi Montag there."

I hate to be one of those "who cares" commenters, but really…..are these people of interest to anyone? They create their own celebrity and we all seem to buy into it. I get that by definition, over half the population is below average intelligence, but really, even the most stupid have to be tired of these two by now.
While I am glad that there is something on this site for everyone, no matter their age or intellect or maturity, I feel that these two get more than their share of the spotlight. Oh well.

Umm, I just got married in California in Jan and there is no box to check so that your name will change. You have to request a copy of the marriage license and go on from there.
That does not make sense!

Lets see. I got married in Dec in CA. There is NO check this box on the license. You have to wait a couple weeks after your wedding, go and get a copy. After that you have to change it on your social security card, than you can change it on everything else. But the DMV in CA wants to see your social and also I showed them the license.

You don't just check a box to change your name. You have to go in person to the social security office and fill out paperwork for a new social security card. You have to present your certificate of marriage that has actually been processed (not just a marriage license). You have to go in person to the DMV to get a new drivers license and show your new social security card and/or your processed marriage certificate. You have to actually call the credit card companies to get new cards. But I guess if you were never really married, you'd never know that.

And I just did all this in Jan..it is a pain in the ass. I wish it was only checking a box.
