John Lennon Exhibit To Feature Bloodstained Clothes
Filed under: Music Minute
Damn! This is hardcore!
A New York exhibit centered around the life of John Lennon will feature a paper bag filled with the late singer's bloody clothes from the day of his death.
The exhibit also includes handwritten lyrics, guitars, the piano from his apartment, a pair of "his trademark wire-rimmed glasses," and letters recounting his battle against deportation in the 70s.
Widow Yoko Ono, who said she feared "criticism" for the exhibit, also said, "I know it's a kind of a sad and very poignant kind of paradox, I think, that he loved this place so much and this where he was killed."

:S
Ever since I saw a DVD called rock and roll sorcerers of the new age revolution I figured out John Lennon was not really ok in the head.
rest in peace John. S o c i a l i s m is alive and well in the states right now. The inmates are running the asylum.
FIRST!!
jojospeaks.com
Lennon :]
The bloody clothes bag was at the John Lennon exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame too.
I wish I could visit NYC and this exhibit before the year end but I doubt it. ='( RIP!!
That bag and his bloody glasses was on display at the Rock Hall a few years ago….what's the big deal about the items being displayed now?
oh ths is hardly surprising for that money hungry phyco yoko ono to do–after his death she sold many many many personal items- plus a few letters from John to his son Julian (you know…the forgotten son, that john abandoned undoubtly with yokos help)…and julian asked for them back she said no, he eventually bought them back. there are many many more stories, but "john" by cynthia lennon told it much better
rip john
I saw these exhibited years ago at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Old news!
bloody clothes???? that's fucking morbid and repulsive! i'm a goth and i find that appalling!
Morbid? Repulsing? I don't think so, I think it's sad if anything. The end of a legend's life.
This exhibit had traveled through STL at an Art Handling Company I worked for. Yoko Ono has spent a lot of time and money to ensure the blood stains stay on the clothing. John Lennon was an icon and the horrible way he met his death should be preserved.
And we all know how much Yoko loves the money so it's not "that" shocking, it was about time that she stands up and creates more controversy just to fill her pockets… so sad that the real Lennon fans will go and check it out and all the profits will go for more plastic surgery for Yoko…
John Lennon is and always will be the greatest legend that ever lived! I love you John!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want everyone reading this site to know that Perez Hilton is not a representative of the gay right's movement. Too many people have worked far too long and far too hard, and sacrificed way too much - in some cases their lives - for one person's self-aggrandizement to throw all of that in reverse. If anyone would care to have a healthy, intelligent debate about legalizing gay marriage, without fear of being called a "dumb bitch" or having your family maligned, I am available.

Imagine
They had this at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleaveland YEARS ago. I saw this exhibit when I was 12 or something.
yea this really isn't news at all. The same exhibit, featuring the same stuff, including many of his other possessions, was featured at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a few years ago. It was powerful, I'll give you that, but this is old news. It's not like this is the first time any of this stuff is going on display.
Miley will love this! She's obsessed with him.
I want to be so much more to you than your forever daydream. I want the memories of distance in the past and move towards making new memories side by side in our future. Happiness is just a quick trip through the clouds. Take that step and let me show you the enlightenment of an eternal smile.
I LOVE LENNON!!! There is soooo mmuch CRAP on the radio nowadays, so i pretty much only listen to his music. Oh, and the Jonas Brothers of course. (jk)
…….classy
Ohhh Rest in Peace John, I'm gonna try and go to this now.
This exhibit was already displayed at the Rock and Roll Hall in Cleveland a few years back. It was chilling. His glasses were broken and stained, the brown paper bag from the hospital was also there, ass others on this site stated. Maybe the actual clothes in the bag will be shown…I don't recall that.
I went to the rock n roll hall of fame in cleveland years ago for the lennon exhibit.and they had basically the same stuff, blood stained clothes(in the same bag from the police), glasses, report cards, instruments, etc. Really cool exhibit but nothing new.
This is hardly shocking. The bag with the clothes in it and the bloodstained glasses were at the Rock and Roll HOF when the Lennon exhibit was there a few years ago.
Nothing new…or shocking
YokoFuckingOno, what a disgusting, money hungry pig! Who else is surprised that she would directly profit from the horrible blood encrusted clothing that John Lennon was murdered in? What a vile person! It's shocking how much she benefited from his death!
Hey, No matter how much you may think this is "not news" because you saw it "so many years ago" at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland ……since this exhibit will be at the NYC RnR Hall of Fame this IS news to us NYers that would never bother with going to the flyover city of Cleveland.
In regards to the bag of clothes~I think it shows how pathetic and sad violence is. That a great life is reduced down to a bloody bag of clothes. That is what that jerk who shot Lennon left for Sean and Yoko to carry home instead of the goodnight kiss from John. I believe that was what Yoko was trying to show by including this last terrible piece of Lennon's life.
I adore John, and would love to see this exhibition. Not a Yoko fan at all…
Displaying the clothes he was murdered in is tacky. R.I.P. John
So what? They show Lincoln's bloody hat at the smithsonian..
I have hated Yoko for so many years..yes, I still believe she is the reason the Beatles broke up. And now she is making MORE money off of John's death. The displaying of John's bloody clothes just shows she will stop at nothing to make a fricking dime.
kinda repulsive and morbid of her but if that's what john would want, so be it! love you john
EW! THats just morbid and disgusting!! Some vampire asshole will try to steal that shit!! lol…Never could stand Lennon or his fug wife yoko homo.
Whats next?? Put the bloody glove on display???? Or how about one of the heads Dahmer boiled or Ron Goldmans glasses?….get it?? Its just morbid people.
This is so morbid, what F#%¨&ed mind had this great idea?
John & Yoko loved each other like no two people I have ever known. You can see it in their bloodshot eyes when they look at each other. Now I hear Lennon sing songs he wrote for her and it brings tears to my eyes.
Dude that is just blasphemy. I worhipped Lennon and was devastated when he was murdered. I visit strawberry fields everytime I go to NYC and go to the Dakotas to pay my respects. I think this is disgusting!!!
You'd probably find miley there… since shes obsessed with him now
how did i know that.. TWITTER..
I saw the exhibit in Montreal, Canada. It's brilliant. There is ever trees inside the museum…i won't o on, cuz its a must see
You know, this event was very traumatic for me when I was 16. I personally would not go to see the exhibit because it would just bring up the unbelievable sadness I felt when it happened. I think that she should keep the bag with his bloody clothes put away someplace safe where SHE can take it out and look at it whenever she wants. But don't make his tragic death a circus. It was not an art exhibit. It was a murder. She already put his bloody glasses on the cover of an album, leave it at that. Just seeing that picture brought up horrible feelings for me. I can imagine there are a lot more people like me out there.
Yoko - it really is exploiting John's death for monetary gain. Make the exhibit free and I'll change my mind.
Re: htwngrl – I do the same thing when I'm in NYC. Just a little quiet contemplation by myself. She needs to let him rest in peace. No one is going to forget about him and his contributions to music if she doesn't constantly remind us. I think the bloodstained clothes is crossing a line. Does she not realize how much some of us who didn't even know him were devastated when he was murdered? This brings up a lot of pain, and I know not everyone can understand that.
thats kind of wierd!!!!!!!
Who the fuck cares? I don't get all this hype about John Lennon or any fucken Beetle.
He's dead, move on. He wasn't that great when he was alive.
Yeesh!
