One Tree Hill stars Chad Michael Murrary and Hilarie Burton will NOT be returning for another season. Both actors have had very heated and high profile squabbles about their contracts.
Translation: They want more money and instead of being grateful that someone actually hired a failed MTV VJ and just another pretty face, they're walking away for not getting what they want!
Both actors will make their final appearances next Monday on the season finale. An insider says that two new cast members will be included to take the place of the main characters.
Not that we REALLY care, but please…please don't let it be current guest star Nick Lachey. The guy is a tool and should not be encouraged anymore then he is!

I want everyone reading this site to know that Perez Hilton is not a representative of the gay right's movement. Perez has absolutely no idea what he's talking about, and this proves it. While Chad clearly wanted more money this was not the case with Hilarie. She wanted to play Peyton until the show ended, and it was a creative decision ( A.K.A. Mark Schwahn). She didn't chose to leave over a salary dispute. Also how was she a failed MTV VJ? Lol, they basically just hired Hilarie with very little experience and then she chose to work on One Tree Hill. One Tree Hill was her first t.v. role without any formal training! She has always said that she desired to be an actress, and it's doubtful that being a MTV VJ is even that important to her anymore. It seemed more like a hobby. She's got her production company, and a movie career to look forward to. I hate Perez for trying to slander her name. Fucking liar!!!

The ultimate fault of this falls on the CW.
Chad gave them a hard time about resigning and the CW made the decision to stop negotaiting with them. Hilarie Burton was more than willing to come back, and it was the CW's decision to not keep her without keeping him. So she essentially got kicked off, thanks to Chad and thanks to the CW.
I've been a fan for 6 seasons, but i wont be watching without them. This show will is going to TANK next season. Just wait. It's not worth it without Peyton and Lucas for me, and to many other fans. Bringing in two knew characters isn't placating ANYONE, it's insulting to think we want new characters instead of our original ones. The CW really made a bad decision here.

personally, i dont like peyton on the show and lucas was kinda boring even though i love CMM!! I have always been a fan of the naley relationship nathan scott and haley james! soo i could care less if they leave. it kinda sucks since the show will end in season 7 inless they get great new people and if james and bethany joy can be the leaders of the cast. plus sophia bush will own so again one tree hill will be okay with out the 2 "main" characters.

Be fair to Hilarie, I don't think that it was her choice to leave or that it was because SHE wanted more money. A few months ago she even made a video thanking the fans and encouraging them to continue watching as she hinted (while holding back tears) that she would not be returning. She said that had if she had creative control, she'd stay on as Peyton.

Well, I love OTH and I watch it every Monday night. I am sad to see them go but I hope the charcter they pick up is Julian. I LOVE him and Brooke together and I think he needs to be on there all the time.
If I had to guess I would say that they are going to kill Peyton and Lucas will either run off to be alone or raise the baby alone.

This show has sucked from the beginning… Most of the characters started out as guest stars on Dawson's Creek anyway, and this show is like a bad imitation of DC! It just needs to go away already!!
