Costars Defend Kiefer
Kiefer Sutherland returned to L.A. this week for the early preview of the 24 season finale. And his costars spoke up for him to reporters at the event on Wednesday night, praising him as a great actor and friend.
Among his defenders was long time cast member Carlos Bernard, who referred to Sutherland as "a great guy" and "courteous" to others when the two frequently hang out outside the show.
Others were also on the defense for their beloved Jack Bauer, like Mary Lynn Rajskub, who plays Bauer's techie side-kick Chloe: "Kiefer has his own way of doing things, and he has his own energy, and he is awesome."
A decision has yet to be made if the charges against Sutherland will affect his probation from his 2007 DUI, but at least he is getting by with a little help from his friends.
Kiefer did not defend himself to reporters, however, as they were asked not to question him about the matter.
Smooth move there publicists!

yeah, perez, 'reporters' are still asking him, like they would actually listen to a publicist. the only ones that might listen are the ones that kiefer might recognize and would want interviews/favors from him and anyone that is represented by the same agency he has. the regular rags, they don't care and I have seen them on tv bothering him.

Look, every crack addict scumbag in court has friends who swear he's a nice guy. the facts are, that this drunk idiot headbutted somebody in the middle of a party. he's been allowed to stumble around out of control for years and his sleasy friends telling everybody what a great guy he is doesn't change the facts that he committed assault and battery.

Having worked in fashion for over twenty years one sees vicious behavior more frequently than anyone would think. Jack McCullough is not the picture of innocence that the designers paid publicist would like the media and the public to believe. Jack is an obnoxious, mean spirited drunk who often finds himself in the middle of a firestorm due to his vile behavior. He told me one night at a trendy NY Hotel just after I had made a complimentary comment about one of fashion's most beautiful top models that he "wanted to slice her face with a razor blade" for canceling their show the season before. McCollough was not simply moving through the crowd as reported, he was shoving his way through, flailing his arms in hysteria and actually bumped into Brooke Sheilds quite hard. Keifer Sutherland basically asked him to watch it, pointed out that he had bumped into Ms. Sheilds and asked him to not only be more aware of himself but also to apologize. McCollough refused to apologize to Ms. Sheilds so Sutherland delivered what many of us have wanted to do for years! Karma catches up with people. While I do not advocate violence it's hard for me not to think that Jack McCollugh finally got what he deserved. Hopefully he will think twice before making harmful comments about others and pushing his weight around simply because he was a darling of Anna Wintour at one time. The guy has a super sized ego and Keifer Sutherland while defending a lady put him in check.
If Kiefer goes to jail all these defenders will be out of work. So it is in their own best interest to lie about his bad behavior so the L.A. judge won't put his sorry ass in jail for violating his parole when he was in NY. DUH. Don't believe a word those actors are saying. They are paid "act". Get it????

Of course his "co-stars" are defending him. If anything happens to him, these ass kissers would have to go out and find a job because no one has heard of them before this show and they will fade back into obscurity otherwise. They need to save their meal ticket.
