One of our favorite movies from the 80s is getting remade and it has the potential to be really cool.
DreamWorks is in the process of picking up a remake of Fright Night.
The original is a horror comedy and tells the story of teenager who realizes his next door neighbors are vampires. And it rawks!
Can't wait for the remake!

Roddy McDowall was awesome, of course. And, a very young Amanda Bearse of 'Married with Children' plays the girlfriend (of a dude). Hopefully, DreamWorks won't fuck it up.
I have that movie on my hard drive…need to see it.
Loved this movie when it came out and own it as well as the soundtrack…total cult classic - can't wait to see who will play the parts originated by Chris Sarandon and Roddy McDowell!

And in addition to Amanda Bearse and Roddy McDowell, there was Stephen Geoffreys. He later went on to do gay porn as Sam Ritter and is now back doing legitimate films. Such a cutie!

I love The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but am less than thrilled that they are remaking it! Why are you excited for a remake?? They always suck and piss all over the legacy of the original.

Fuck remakes. Especially of this movie. No one will be as great as Roddy McDowell, Amanda Bearse, William Ragsdale and Chris Sarandon. NO ONE. This is going to suck balls like every other remake that has come out since about, 2003. I blame Michael Bay for starting it all with the TCM remake. I hope Michael Bay gets rectal cancer and dies a slow painful death. Because that's what watching his movies is best likened to. STOP RAPING MY CHILDHOOD MICHAEL BAY!!! STOOOOOP!

One of my favorite horror flicks of the 80s. It's cheesy as shit and I love it. There really is no reason to have it redone. I have a feeling this will be going straight to dvd kinda like the latest Lost Boys flick.
One doesn't need the vampiric psychic abilities of Twilight's Alice Cullen, or Buffy's Drusilla to know this remake will suck.
I'd like to see the people who green lighted this get their jugular veins sucked dry by a pack of bloodthirsty vampires, myself.

I loved the original too (although I'm not too fond of any 'remakes')- to this day I remember :::in scary vampire voice::: "You have to have faith for that to work…"

Stop with the Remakes!!! Theres nothing better than the original. I went to my local video store a few months ago, I wanted to rent the movie April Fools Day. I asked the guy if they had it, he looked it up and pointed me into the its direction. I expected the movie from the 1980's. I got some goofy 2000's version. I asked the guy if he had the original, he said "original?". Yikes. Yes, its a freakin remake. kids. sheesh.
And PS, there is no hotter vampire than Chris Sarandon! purrrr
