It was the most talked-about show on TV this week!
In an Entertainment Weekly interview, Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes answers questions about the gut-wrenching season finale. She addresses rumors, weddings and the future of some of the cast members on the show.
Obviously, if you don't want any spoilers, do NOT read on!
Here are some of the HIGHlights:
Rumors have been swirling all year that Katherine and TR wanted off the show. The season ends with both their characters' lives hanging in the balance. Purely coincidental?
SHONDA RHIMES: I don't think there are any coincidences. I think Katherine's stated publicly that she's happy to stay. I think that there have been lots of rumors about TR, but TR's never said anything. Take from it what you will.Do you know which one of them lives and which one of them dies?
RHIMES: Yes. And I don't know that you should be saying "which one of them lives and which one of them dies." I know what happens to the characters.Have you shared this information with Katherine and TR?
RHIMES: [Crickets, then…] I don't want to answer that. I don't want to talk about my private conversations with the actors.Will Katherine be putting her name back in the Emmy race this season?
RHIMES: You know, I don't know. I think she did beautiful work. I think she always does beautiful work.Did Meredith and Derek really get married last night?
RHIMES: Their wedding was a Post-it note. We had a big series of discussions about it in the writers' room. I felt very strongly — very very strongly — that the last thing Meredith Grey would do is put on a wedding dress and walk down an aisle. It just felt wrong to me, Meredith being Meredith. And the Post-it wedding will have big reverberations next season.Will we still get an official wedding at some point?
RHIMES: I think they feel it is an official wedding.
Lead characters are leaving and no deragatory statements?! Weddings on Post-it notes? Sexual escapes with dead characters?

I like Katherine heigl. She make for good Tv and movies. Why does Perez hate on her? It's not like they'll ever be friends so put her personality aside and judge her based upon her acting - which is very good. So many of these posts are about the celebrities personalities, not what made them famous in the first place - their TALENT. God who are these poeple to judge?! Snooze.

I love greys anatomy! Katherine Heigel is a good actress and she brings alot to the show, but at the same time so does TR. George is probably my favorite character!Derek's not too bad either, oh la la, he is one handsom man!

george and izzie must both live. they're my favs, especially george!!!! his story line has been non-existent this yr. and it sucked. plus the show will be 2 sad if they die.
Do you even watch the show, Perez? Izzie was hallucinating because of the melanoma tumor on her brain. Her hallucination was a dead fiance who she fucked, yeah. Get over it.
We have no proof either way really that either main character is leaving the show. Everyone has denied it for months now. And calling TR Knight a main character is laughable anymore since he's had a bit part for nearly a whole season now. So please, dear, watch the show or STFU. You can't form opinions on something you know nothing about.

I love this show and won't stop watching it no matter what. Shonda Rhimes is an amazing, creative woman, and I have so much respect for her. It's her show, she can do with it what she wants. I love Grey's, and I think it's about time Chandra Wilson and Ellen Pompeo get recognized for their outstanding performances on Grey's. Amazing episode last night, possibly the best since Season 2. I really hope Season 6 is just as juicy!
It was great! OMG! But, Lost was the bomb too! Two great shows with excellent acting by a large cast! Way to go.
I think it was a fabulous season finale, definitely better than the Private Practice one, but not by much. I feel like TR hasn't been in this season much so I have a feeling that even if Shonda wrote that he survives, I think his character may still go on to join the army. It would definitely be in his character's personality to do so - provided he heals enough to continue practicing medicine. With Katherine's character, I'm not sure. There's still a lot of unfinished business regarding her daughter and I think that needs to be explored. TR may be leaving, but I suspect Katherine is not.
best season finale !! Well its up there with season 2.
I truly believe they won't both leave. I just think it would be too much of a let down for the show right away…. they need to keep people watching, but who knows. Shonda is full of surprises. As for that finale. I plan on sending her my therapy bill. Thanks a lot Shonda.
HEY ASSHOLE, SHUT THE FUCK UP! Izzie wasn't really seeing Denny's ghost, Denny's ghost was her tumor. She has had a tumor pressing against her brain, causing her to hallucinate. This is why Denny appears to her, it is also why she sees birds flying over heads, and constantly saw herself on a beach. You don't even really watch this show, so why the fuck are you even speaking right now?? Do you even know the "dead guys" name? Do you know what that character meant to her in the past? If this show sounds so stupid to you, why are you even discussing it…
Re: schmorie – Oh definitely. I loved this finale, and although it came close, I don't think it could touch the season 2 finale. I don't know if anything in this show could top that scene with Izzie going up the elevator in her beautiful dress, so excited to see Denny, only to find him dead. God it was heartbreaking; especially when Alex carries her away. This year's finale was crazy though, I never seen the George thing coming! I always loved George and it will be hard to see that character go out in such a painful, gruesome manner.

found out it was George! Great ending! Please we don't have too many good
show on TV now. Let them both come back! Throw in Washington too. For a few shows and see how the ratings go. I miss him and Christina.

Grey's Anatomy has a fantastic storyline and, since when was it okay to simply give out plot details just by someone asking for them? There is a reason why cliffhangers exist.
