When Tweeting Goes Bad
Filed under: Gay Gay GayThe Los Angeles Times sent the Twittersphere on fire earlier today when they posted on their official Twitter a link to this article of theirs about the California Supreme Court "overruling gay marriage ban."
One problem - the article was from May of LAST YEAR!
Faster than you can blink, the Tweet went viral, and many Tweeps, like Perez, ran with the story without looking at the date.
We're sorry. And feel deflated.
Hopefully when the ruling does come in, it's the same one!

So try doing your own real reporting instead of copying and pasting everything you hack. you'll find the real sites didnt report that.

Prior to Perez's tirade against Miss California I never really gave the subject of gay marriage much thought. Over the past weeks I have come to feel strongly that marriage should only be allowed between a man and a woman ("opposite marriage" as Carrie Prejean says.) Historically marriage has only been between a man and a woman - why the sudden rush to change this all of a sudden? I don't have any problems with homosexuals, I just don't think they should be allowed to marry. In many parts of the world (including parts of the United States) homosexual activity is still illegal! I do believe that people who are gay are born that way. But I still believe that homosexual activity is wrong and that if you are gay you should try not to engage in homosexual behavior or if you do engage in homosexual behavior you should keep it private and not thrust your sexuality on other people! I support homosexual's rights to form civil unions to allow them some of the legal rights afforded to married couples but a union of same sex people by definition is not a marriage. I urge all Americans to contact their lawmakers to express their desire to allow homosexuals to form civil unions but not to marry.
wow so far all of the commentators are psychopaths. Perez, you and I dont agree on this issue, but I understand your point of view. Hopefully a compromise can be reached and their can be expanded rights under civil unions that mirror marriage rights, but are not called marriage. Its the wording thats controversial and I think ultimately that is the compromise that will be reached.
Well it does say "ARCHIVE" in giant bold letters but it would be nice to see happen.

And as for this mistake, it was an understandable one. Perez ALWAYS owns up to it when he is wrong (which isn't often). He is reliable and accurate, and always states when something might not be true. GET OVER IT!

There is little of interest for me on Twitter. It is the feast of EGO there I think and it just seems really stupid.
Twitter this: I am taking a crap/I am painting/I am debating politics… blah blah blah. Like, who cares and absolutely no one really cares what random stupid things I may put on there. Isn't that what our other websites are for? Why the duplicity? Can anyone tell me what the dealio (the fascination) with Twitter is?
And since I'm on my rant here - when I hear anyone say "we/I put a tweet on twitter," I just wanna puke… seriously. It's just so sad (dumb).
