What would be great is if all the tranny hookers in Nevada got married so they won't bother tourists in Vegas anymore.

  2. 2

Sounds like equality to me. Leave it at that.

  3. YUCK says – reply to this

    You make some solid points.
However, there seems to be a slowly changing attitude among Americans about recognizing fairness and equality.
    That is no small story.
It represents a shift in the American psyche that will affect many citizens and their families. It truly is a big deal.

It's unfortunate that you are sick of hearing about it, but America has a long way to go yet, so certainly all of us will be hearing much more about the gradual changing tide.
Welcome to the 21st century. It makes me proud to be an American - -witnessing history.

Re: Yellow Peeps Fairness and equality yes. The problems is, Perez is trying to champion a religious aspect into "equality". No different in trying to say that everyone should be baptized so that even non-believers get a dip in the pool. If real equality was worth a damn, we'd have no discrimination, no NAACP, no gay only scholarships (a few orgs. offer them), no black only, nothing. But then, that would just give the "white man" all the advantages - because, you know, there are no poor white straight people. Will continue…

The reason people are sick of hearing it, is because they don't understand what they are pushing for. If I was on the corner demanding more rights for the UFCW, do I even know what they want? Marriage is a religious word - generally people who don't want gay marriage are fine with equal gay rights. Even Prejean said rights were needed. But marriage, is religious. There are a few radical sects, but by and large, it's forbidden by the Bible. REGARDLESS of whether you or I agree - you're not going to get anywhere by telling 80% of the population they are wrong and they HAVE TO do what you want them to do. I wouldn't march into a gay rights parade and tell them Rainbows belong to the straight Rainbow Brite and demand they stop using it and because I'm straight, they must listen to me right?

  12. 12

    No one cares!

    WOW, Slick Willey:
    "FAGS are abnormal people"
I hope you are just aiming for shock value, because you sure as hell aren't aiming for genius of the year!

  14. 14

    Yes.

  15. 15

Our bone head governor has publicly said that he will veto this bill if it is passed by the senate. I don't think it looks good for equality in Nevada.

  16. 16

Hooray for my people finally beginning to grow a brain.

  17. 17

    who cares? I dont

  18. 18

God, there are times that I think Americans just love living in the 18th Century. You are such a barbaric nation, get over yourselves, allow people who live together to have the same rights, rather than casting insults and abuse about individuals undersome arcane misinterpreted religious dogma or tough guy.

Oh by the way I am very straight but a wrong law is a wrong law.

    Thank fuck for Europe

From the comments made on the reviewjournal.com posting, it seems your governor is not well supported by his own party, much less the Dems and particularly not by gay Nevadans.

Re: imsoregistered – Thank you for bring up the religious aspect of this debate. Respectfully I would like to offer you another point of view for consideration.
    =
It bears repeating that gay civil marriage has no intention to change any hetero-biased religious practice. More importantly however it's worthy to note that continuing to deny gay marriage, denies my ability to practice my faith to its fullest. You should know there are churches which ordain gay clergy and welcome gay congregants but our current laws prevent the expression of marriage hence the full expression of my faith.

  21. 21

everyone should get all the same rights i was just watching the tyra show and she was talking about gay is the new black and i think this its so wrong that gays arent treated equally when it come to marriage. Straight people didnt just wake up one day and say i like the opposite sex.Its something within us i am straight and believe that it is not a choice to be gay its who thry are and they should get all the same rights as everyone else. Change is coming slowly but surely keep going strong and keep faith that things will change for the better.

  22. 22

Re: b a t k i s s This is a very interesting viewpoint. I do agree that you can be gay and religious. That said - given the sanctioning bodies of traditional churches that offer marriage do not agree with gay marriage. Even in some gay churches, it's taught to live your life gay, but you must confess or something similar to continue to ask God for your forgiveness. If you ask a small Catholic church and they agree with gay marriage - the Vatican does NOT. Therefore, as the ruling "government" so to speak - it's their wishes that must be defined. Since it's still not accepted within those higher ranks, it cannot be considered now. Maybe 50 years down the line, if those higher ups chose to run their religion by saying gays are the same in the Lord's eyes as we are all sinners - that's their choice. But if you want to be part of a group, you have to adhere to the rules - so to speak.

  23. 23

yay I reckon that's the way to go. Although it should probably be ALL the rights, not just 'many of'.
