Former Survivor Winner Diagnosed With Cancer

2002's Survivor: Africa winner, Ethan Zohn, has been diagnosed with stage-two Hodgkin's disease and has started chemotherapy treatments this week for the rare form of cancer.

A swollen lymph node was found under Zohn's collar bone in April, which led doctors to discover "a mass on the left side of his chest."

So sad.

Here's to a healthy recovery for Ethan!

My dad was diagnosed with the same cancer almost 3 years ago. Luckly it was found at stage-one and treated. He is currently cancer free! So there is hope for Ethan!!!

Perez - These past few weeks you have been 1-3 days late on stories that even the main media has released! Have you lost focus? Are the gay issues clouding your mind?
      .
      Snap out of it!

Ethan is an amazing person– I met him at an event for his non-profit organization grassroots soccer. His light is shining bright and he will continue to live his life with courage I'm sure. .. in my thoughts

Oh my god! So sad, Ethan was the cutest, sexiest Survivor winner ever. He won by playing the game fair too. Hope he pulls through okay.

Ethan was the reason I bothered watching Survivor! He seemed like the only one that wasn't a money-grubbing jacksauce. I hope that for the sake of his family and his charity causes, he makes a full recovery. The world needs more people like him and it's unfair that one of the better people in the world has to overcome such a hurdle.

i know ethan too and if there's one person to kick this disease in the ass it's him. he's done nothing but good since winning survivor and he doesn't deserve this…but he'll be just fine.

THIS IS TOO SAD. HE WAS ONE OF THE SEXIEST ONES. GREAT LEGS! GET BETTER.

How can you say "feel better", when someone has fucking cancer!? I don't get it…

Thank you for posting this Perez! This is very sad to hear but, at the same time, another great challenge for Ethan. I myself am a PROUD Hodgkin's Disease survivor, celebrating my one year anniversary July 3rd of this year! Although my cancer was found in Stage IIIA, once the diagnosis was made, it was starting the process immediately with chemotherapy and other treatments. With the right attitude of faith, determination and perserverence, Ethan will once again come out on top as the ULTIMATE SURVIVOR!

My prayers are with Ethan and his family as he starts his new journey with Hodgkin's. Stay strong Ethan!!!!!

Re: TaylorGBryant – Hey Taylor! As a Hodgkin's survivor myself, any any words of encouragement help - for me, it was a form of motivation. It shows that people do care :)

    17. 17

I AM SO SORRY, BE STRONG. GOD BLESS.

    18. 18

Oh no, and he was the GOOD one who used his fame and money to HELP PEOPLE!!!!!

    19. 19

      get well gorgeous ethan.

    20. 20

can we get this fucktard Aaron fernandes off,

    21. 21

perez, if you're gonna talk about serious stuff, at least get your facts straight
hodgkins is not at all rare

in fact it has been noted as the "young peoples cancer"
because it usually hits people in their mid 30s and younger

my dad is a survivor of stage 2 hodgkins as well

    22. 22

Since when is Hodgkins a 'rare form of cancer'? It is actually a very common form of cancer and one of the easiest to treat, even in stages 3 and 4. Get your facts straight, Perez.

    23. 23

i had hodgkins stage 3 -5th year in remission…its gonna suck but he'll be fine

    24. 24

Is that a pic of Patrick Dempsey?
