The legendary funnyman will be perfoming on the American Idol season finale, for reals. With his banjo in hand!
Martin, who incorporated his banjo playing into the early years of his stand-up career, will be performing a song off his newly released album The Crow: New Songs for the Five-Sting Banjo.

This man is the single biggest influence of my life. If I could spend a night with any living human being it would be Steve Martin. He is a total package of talent and brains. This will be the only episode of American Idol that I have watched this season.

Bluegrass is cool! And Steve is a good player. He surrounds himself with great musicians and gives them lots of RESPECT! Martin Mull and Steve hired a friend of mine to help them learn how to jam with others.
Steve's going to be on Ellen on Memorial day, too. Another friend of mine gets to be his mandolin player. Woo hoo!
